Nike Is Turning Its Most Iconic Soccer Cleats Into Sidewalk-Ready Sneakers

Nike Is Turning Its Most Iconic Soccer Cleats Into Sidewalk-Ready Sneakers

Remember #BootsOnlySummer? Last year’s short-lived TikTok trend, in which style-minded soccer fans sported their cleats on concrete, was both silly and potentially quite painful. But it also served as proof of an increasing demand for footy-inspired silhouettes in the sneaker world. Now, ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Nike has found a way to serve that growing audience by turning a slew of its most iconic football boots into sidewalk-ready lifestyle shoes—without removing their spikes. The Swoosh’s new Cryoshot line, which launches today with a collection of seven legendary on-pitch models, uses a new proprietary technology to encase the shoes’ studs in a clear TPU outsole. The spikes are still very much visible, as though frozen in a block of ice. Once you see the Cryoshot kicks in action, it’s so natural and elegant a solution that it’s hard to believe nobody thought of it sooner. Given how major this summer’s World Cup is gearing up to be, Nike has pulled out all the stops for the launch by pairing each of the seven shoes …

The Night Marilyn Monroe Invited Photographer Douglas Kirkland Over For an Iconic Shoot

The Night Marilyn Monroe Invited Photographer Douglas Kirkland Over For an Iconic Shoot

Marilyn was portrayed by many masters of photography, but this shoot has been described as the most intimate and spontaneous version of Marilyn Monroe ever made. What was his secret? Douglas’s own attitude. He wanted to make people beautiful. When he looked at his pictures he never let one go by in which there was something he thought was wrong. He was very instinctive. When he met someone who caught his eye he used to say, “Oh I have to take your picture. You look wonderful.” And you would reply, “Now? I’m not ready.” He would retort, “No, you look wonderful and the light is beautiful.” Suddenly you felt beautiful because he was telling you how beautiful you were. I think there was an innocence in Douglas that made people trust him. He stayed that way all his life. I think that’s partly the secret of why it was so intimate shooting Marilyn. Was there chemistry between him and Marilyn? First of all, he was 27 and she was 35. She had told him, in short, …

BMW is dropping this iconic gas sports car, but an EV will step in

The 2027 G80 BMW M3 will be the final model year for the iconic gas-powered sports car, but a performance EV is coming soon that promises to pack even more performance. BMW ditches gas-powered G80 M3 for an EV After introducing the 2027 M3 CS Handschalter just over a week ago, BMW said the special, limited-edition model marked the close of the M3’s sixth generation. According to Scott Stirling, BMW M’s North American Product Manager, the 2027 model year will be the last for the G80 edition model. EastEnders airs surprise return and 2 exits for iconic characters

Take a deep breath, EastEnders fans. Two legendary characters have departed Albert Square, as another beloved local arrived home. Today’s episode kicked off with Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) suspicions about Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) being confirmed. The keys that Mark had dropped in the car lot while he was trying to rob the safe were a perfect match for the Mitchell residence’s kitchen door, meaning that he was surely the man responsible for the dealership’s recent vehicle thefts. Armed with his evidence, Max and girlfriend Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) publicly accused him, and Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa) leapt to his defence. Having teamed up with him to sell some dodgy motors, she couldn’t risk being implicated. Suddenly, Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) appeared and made another attempt to connect with his estranged son. He said that he was the one responsible, and not Mark. Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) drove siblings Sam (Kim Medcalf) and Grant (Ross Kemp) out of Walford. BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron Max was still contemplating police involvement, though moneybags Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) stepped in …

The critically acclaimed crime noir — which follows De Niro’s Travis Bickle, a disturbed insomniac, as he takes a job as a New York City cab driver and embarks on an obsessive attempt to rescue 12-year-old prostitute Iris (Jodie Foster) — earned him his second acting Oscar nomination. However, De Niro recently revealed that he originally doubted its enduring quality. “You never can think that you’re doing something that’s going to have an impact,” he told Page Six during an interview ahead of the 25th edition of New York City’s Tribeca Film Festival, …
