The former prince, who lost his titles last year as a result of various scandals, no longer calls Royal Lodge home after he was evicted and moved to a farmhouse on the King’s private Sandringham Estate. The former duke was reportedly sad to leave the home, and it turns out this may be because the estate – which actually belongs to The Crown Estate – was actually providing him with a steady income. This is because he was reportedly subletting properties around his Windsor mansion that were part of the estate, and pocketing this money for himself. This has been revealed in a report by the National Audit Office (NAO) into the Firm’s residential property arrangements.
