This ambitious project, a decade in the making, brings together thousands of pages that were separated centuries ago, offering unprecedented access to the mind of the Renaissance master. The launch of Leonardotheka is the culmination of a collaborative effort between the Royal Collection Trust, based at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan, Italy, and the Biblioteca Leonardiana in Vinci. A dedicated team of da Vinci scholars and digital experts meticulously worked to reassemble approximately 3,500 pages of manuscripts, which had been dismounted and cut into pieces in the late 16th century. Police and emergency services rushed to the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday night, following a shooting. At least 12 people have been shot, according to authorities, and police are currently searching for the shooter. Those injured range from 14 to 61 years old. Gunfire erupted just after 5:37 p.m. local time. Shortly after gunshots were heard, police officers were seen running down a suburban road in a video that has surfaced on social media. Two of the wounded were in critical condition, Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan said. He said it appeared there were at least two people firing weapons who were “probably shooting at each other”. Data storage security company Cyera is finalizing a round led by Evolution Equity Partners of at least $300 million at a $12 billion valuation, according to four people with knowledge of the deal. Calcalist was first to report the funding deal, although TechCrunch’s sources added new details about the company and its financials. Cyera has surpassed $150 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), three people familiar with the matter told TechCrunch, though it remains far from profitable. The deal values Cyera at 80 times its ARR, a multiple that’s even higher than investors assign to many fast-growing AI startups. Sources told TechCrunch the company is spending money faster than it makes it. Some of those costs are directed at hiring sales staff. According to PitchBook, Cyera has added 500 jobs so far this year. Cyera’s spokeperson said that “the numbers cited are factually and significantly inaccurate.” Evolution Equity Partners didn’t respond to a request for comment. Members of the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force began serving 21 search warrants at about 9:30 a.m. on June 1. Over 600 people are thought to have been infected with Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and there have been two confirmed cases in Uganda, leading the World Health Organization to declare the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern. Bundibugyo virus is a member of a group of pathogens known as orthoebolaviruses, which also includes the most common form of Ebola – the Zaire virus – and Sudan virus. All three can cause severe disease in humans. Until now, Bundibugyo outbreaks have been rare compared with those of the Zaire strain, which infected over 28,000 people between 2014 and 2016.
