Mike Myers’ latest appearance leaves fans doing a double take

Mike Myers sparked a wave of surprise among fans this week after stepping out for a rare public appearance that left many doing a double take. The Austin Powers star attended the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards in Toronto on Sunday, where he was honoured with the prestigious Academy Icon Award. But while the evening celebrated his remarkable contribution to entertainment, it was his dramatically different appearance that quickly became a talking point online. © Getty ImagesFans confused Mike with Steve Martin! Appearing on the red carpet at the CBC Broadcast Centre, the 62-year-old actor looked dapper in a classic black suit, white shirt and dark tie. Sporting closely cropped silver hair and a noticeably more mature look, Mike appeared almost unrecognisable to some fans, who flooded social media with comparisons to fellow comedy legend Steve Martin. “I thought it was Steve Martin at first glance,” one fan wrote on X. Another added: “When did Mike Myers become Steve Martin?” A third joked: “Same guy, just aged.” © Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for CMAThe real Steve Martin! …

Mike Myers Thanks Canada For Hollywood Career

A tearful Canadian comedian and Hollywood star Mike Myers on Sunday night paid tribute to his native Canada for opening the way to his classic roles like Wayne Campbell, Austin Powers, Dr. Evil and Shrek. “I just want to say, Canada, I don’t know what to say, dude. I’d just really be nothing without you,” an emotional Myers, who last year led Canada’s “elbows up” moment after U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to annex Canada, said when accepting the Icon Award at the Canadian Screen Awards in Toronto. “I had a whole speech written about how much I love Canada, but I suspect some of you might be sick of hearing that at this point,” Myers added, before getting emotional when thanking his parents “for moving to Canada and stressing the importance of being silly.” Also Sunday night, Heated Rivalry, the gay hockey soap opera dominated the TV series competition. The popular Crave and HBO Max drama took home trophies for best drama series, best lead TV drama performer for Hudson Williams, the audience award …

Mike Myers makes unrecognizable rare appearance to honour Eddie Murphy at the AFI Life Achievement Awards

There are red carpet moments, and then there are movie history moments. Mike Myers delivered the latter in spectacular style as he stepped out in one of his most unexpected appearances in years to honour longtime friend and collaborator Eddie Murphy at the prestigious AFI Life Achievement Awards. In a move that instantly delighted fans, Mike appeared wearing a full green prosthetic mask, transforming himself into none other than Shrek, the beloved ogre he famously voiced. It was a playful, deeply nostalgic tribute that nodded to the pair’s enduring on-screen partnership. Because of course, long before this awards night reunion, the two icons created cinematic magic together in Shrek, with Mike voicing the grumpy-but-lovable ogre and Eddie bringing the endlessly energetic Donkey to life. Their chemistry became the beating heart of the franchise, turning it into one of the most successful animated series of all time. © Getty Images for AFIDave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, posed with AFI Lifetime Achievement award, and Mike Myers attend the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award Taking to the stage, still fully …
