Rob Reiner’s incarcerated son Nick demands $1.5m inheritance while awaiting trial for his parents’ murders

Nick Reiner is demanding access to a $1.5 million trust set up by his late parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, who he is accused of murdering in their home in December 2025. The 32-year-old is currently awaiting trial after he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his parents to death. At an arraignment at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on February 23, he pleaded “not guilty” to the charges. Nick filed a petition on Monday, June 8, requesting half of the money from the trust fund established in his name, which he claims was supposed to be paid “outright when he turned 30.” The remainder would be paid when he turned 35. However, according to the court documents, Nick claims the trustee has not released the funds. “The terms of Nick’s Trust are not complicated, and they are not subject to reasonable dispute,” the document stated, according to The Wrap. © Getty ImagesNick Reiner is awaiting trial for his parents’ murders “Nick’s parents left unambiguous instructions about when the funds in …

Nick Doyle Uses AI and Denim Collages to Explore American Mythmaking

Nick Doyle Uses AI and Denim Collages to Explore American Mythmaking

There’s a moment inside Nick Doyle’s new show at Perrotin when his AI oracle Ava stops feeling like a gimmick and starts sounding uncomfortably familiar. “You’re not starting from zero,” she told me during a recent chat. “You’re starting from ‘I’m there and still feeling invisible because you’re allergic to forced performance.’”  The line landed harder than I expected. Not because it was especially profound, but because Ava has a knack for turning vague insecurity into something general enough to sound specific . She speaks in the language of internet therapy culture filtered through a Gen Z thesaurus: branding, burnout, boundaries, visibility, energy. Half her responses sound like an Instagram relationship advice crossed with podcast self-help speak. She talks in vibes and diagnoses. She sounds less like a machine than the internet talking to itself. Related Articles That’s the unnerving joy of Doyle’s project. Ava doesn’t uncover hidden truths so much as reorganize people’s anxieties into neat little piles. Most people’s problems, deep down, come from the same places anyway: money, status, confidence, loneliness, creative frustration. …

Spurs stay up after De Zerbi arrives in the nick of time

Spurs stay up after De Zerbi arrives in the nick of time

LONDON, May 24 : Tottenham Hotspur’s recent history of managerial churn, erratic recruitment and woeful home performances had the club spiralling towards a first relegation since 1977 but, amidst the wreckage, the hiring of Roberto de Zerbi as coach proved a masterstroke. Even after a 1-0 win over Everton on the final day of the season on Sunday ensured Spurs’ Premier League survival, celebrations in the stands turned to chants against the club’s top brass after a second successive 17th-place finish. One banner called for Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham, Sports Director Johan Lange and owners ENIC to go. But while the appointment of De Zerbi on March 31 appeared born out of desperation after the bizarre decision to replace Thomas Frank with interim manager Igor Tudor had backfired in spectacular fashion, it certainly paid off. The Italian former Brighton & Hove Albion manager arrived with the London club in deep trouble and hope running out. But the 46-year-old galvanised the squad, instilled some positivity and gathered 11 points form his seven games at the helm …

Jessica Simpson defends herself after ex-husband Nick Lachey makes claims about her 3 kids

Jessica Simpson has defended herself after her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, revealed that she flew first class to Hawaii while her three kids sat in coach. Nick recalled his unexpected run-in with Jessica during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, revealing that both their families were on the same flight, marking the first time they had seen each other in 20 years since their divorce. During the chat, Nick said that Jessica sat in first class, while her children, Maxwell, 14, Ace, 12, and Birdie, seven, flew in a “separate class of service” with their dad, Eric Johnson. Jessica has now set the record straight, revealing that she had nothing to do with the seating arrangements. “My mom bought those tickets. It was my mom’s treat for us to go to Hawaii,” she said, according to Page Six. Jessica insisted that if she had bought the tickets, “of course,” her children would be seated with her. © Getty ImagesNick revealed Jessica sat in first class away from her 3 kids and …

Nick Bostrom Has a Plan for Humanity’s ‘Big Retirement’

Nick Bostrom Has a Plan for Humanity’s ‘Big Retirement’

Philosopher Nick Bostrom recently posted a paper, where he postulated that a small chance of AI annihilating all humans might be worth the risk, because advanced AI might relieve humanity of “its universal death sentence.” That upbeat gamble is quite a leap from his previous dark musings on AI, which made him a doomer godfather. His 2014 book Superintelligence was an early examination of AI’s existential risk. One memorable thought experiment: An AI tasked with making paper clips winds up destroying humanity because all those resource-needy people are an impediment to paper clip production. His more recent book, Deep Utopia, reflects a shift in his focus. Bostrom, who leads Oxford’s Future of Humanity Institute, dwells on the “solved world” that comes if we get AI right. STEVEN LEVY: Deep Utopia is more optimistic than your previous book. What changed for you? NICK BOSTROM: I call myself a fretful optimist. I am very excited about the potential for radically improving human life and unlocking possibilities for our civilization. That’s consistent with the real possibility of things …

Nick Cannon admits to ‘double standard’ when it comes to dating rules for twins he shares with ex Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon is opening up about the different rules he has for his teenage twins when it comes to dating – and he’s not pretending it’s fair. The father of 12 revealed he allows his 15-year-old son Moroccan to date, but takes a far stricter approach with daughter Monroe. © GettyNick and Mariah’s twins look so grown up “My son has been dating, and I’ve allowed it – I’ve encouraged it,” the America’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer host said during an appearance on The TMZ Podcast on May 2. But when asked if the same applies to Monroe, Nick didn’t hesitate: “No, absolutely not.” “First of all, it’s absolutely a double standard,” he continued. “And I know I get in trouble a lot because I say things with my chest – but there is a difference when parenting a son and parenting a daughter.” © InstagramMariah on holidays in Beijing with her twins The comedian explained that his stance comes from a place of protectiveness, adding that he feels a stronger responsibility to …

Tucker Carlson on Trump Split Over Iran, Nick Fuentes Interview Regret

Tucker Carlson is getting candid about his fallout with Donald Trump, his infamous interview with Nick Fuentes, Erika Kirk and more. In a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times published Saturday, the former Fox News host opened up about his break with Trump over the Iran war, explained why he believes the president casts a “spell” on those around him, clarified past comments about previously suggesting Trump could be the “Antichrist,” shared his theory that Trump could legalize cannabis to lower testosterone levels and reflected on Erika Kirk and his regrets over interviewing far-right commentator Nick Fuentes. Carlson was a prominent player in cable news for decades, hosting shows on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News before he was abruptly ousted from Fox in 2023 shortly after the network settled its defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems, though Fox said the decision was unrelated. Since his exit, Carlson has forged a new life in digital media, capitalizing on fractured audiences while expanding his brand into other ventures, including a book imprint announced last month. Nick Reiner and the Making of a Modern Hollywood Tragedy

Nick Reiner and the Making of a Modern Hollywood Tragedy

The television crews started gathering outside the courthouse not long after sunrise—cameramen in cargo shorts and primped anchors drawn by the gravitational pull of tragedy. The air carried the weight of anticipation: when will Nick Reiner stand trial for the murder of his parents? Will he enter an insanity plea? Will his family members show up? It has been decades since this city has watched a courtroom with such fixation—since a white Bronco and a freeway chase turned legal proceedings into a televised ritual during the O.J. Simpson trial. Now, with the case of Reiner, the machinery hums again. Reiner appeared in court for a hearing on the 9th floor of Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown LA—a couple dozen feet from the courtroom where Simpson stood trial in 1995. ‘The Music of What Happens’ | Nick Laird

‘The Music of What Happens’ | Nick Laird

To many, Seamus Heaney is the preeminent Anglophone poet of the latter half of the twentieth century. He’s certainly one of the most celebrated. He was born in County Derry in 1939, and when he died in Dublin in 2013 his death reverberated around the world. It was reported with a huge photograph on the front page of The New York Times—above the fold. “Not even Frank got that!” as a New York cabbie said to a friend of mine.1 By the time he died Heaney was much more than an Irish poet, more than the “smiling public man” of his Nobel predecessor Yeats’s later years; he had entered the kind of literary stratosphere where one is not only quoted by emperors and presidents but visited by them. His first collection, Death of a Naturalist, was published by Faber and Faber in 1966 and was followed by eleven other volumes of poetry, as well as collections of literary criticism, anthologies, translations, and verse plays. The past few years have seen a consolidation of his work: …
