Google raised the price of its latest smartphones compared to last year, and the increase may hint at what Apple will do with the iPhone 18 Pro models. All of Google’s Pixel starting prices are $100 higher than they were last year. Pixel 11 – $899, up from $799 Pixel 11 Pro – $1,099, up from $999 Pixel 11 Pro XL – $1,299, up from $1,199 Pixel 11 Pro Fold – $1,899, up from $1,799 The 41mm Pixel Watch 5 is now $399, up from $349, and the 45mm model is now $429, up from $399. With the price hikes, Google increased the base storage for some of its devices, which Apple did with the iPhone 17 Pro. The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro now start with 256GB instead of 128GB, so pricing is technically the same as last year’s 256GB model. Planning permits have been filed for a 124-stall V4 station on the city’s south side. The site is a yellow-cab storage lot at the corner of Alemany and Bayshore, wedged against the US-101 freeway. The permits also call for a 400-square-foot amenity building on the property. The filings were spotted and shared by Supercharger tracker MarcoRP on X. The project scope on the permit lists 124 V4 charging posts, along with the switchgear and 28 parking-lot lights needed to power and light a site that big. Aug 10 : Intel said on Monday it was planning to raise $15 billion through a share sale, as it looks to fund the costly build-out of its chip contract manufacturing business by cashing in on a stock surge fueled by its turnaround efforts. Once a dominant force in the global chip industry, Intel is investing heavily in new facilities and advanced packaging capabilities as it seeks to challenge industry leaders such as TSMC in contract chip manufacturing. Its shares fell more than 4 per cent in early trading. The AI song-generation platform Suno plans to make it easier to tell if a tune you hear was made by its tools. Watermarks and fingerprinting were two items the company suggested in a blog post on Thursday that it intends to implement in a bid to “build the world’s best platform for music creation while contributing to a healthy and growing music ecosystem.” The watermarking and fingerprinting effort remains vague, and Suno said it also plans to introduce a new downloads policy that limits mass distribution on streaming platforms. Suno is one of many AI music generators that let you create and download songs using AI models. However, Suno’s source code was hacked in July, and the findings raise eyebrows. The code showed that Suno’s AI was trained by scraping music and lyrics from platforms such as YouTube Music and Genius, according to 404 Media. Kalshi is heading toward an appeal after a federal judge in Utah ruled that the Commodity Exchange Act does not shield the prediction-market company’s sports contracts from state gambling laws. U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby sided with Utah officials on Tuesday (August 4), granting them summary judgment while rejecting Kalshi’s bid for a preliminary injunction. The company wanted the court to find that federal commodities regulation prevented Utah from enforcing its anti-gambling statutes against Kalshi. Kalshi will appeal the Utah federal court decision to the Tenth Circuit.
