The sickening nickname Mackenzie Shirilla boldly boasted in prison

Mackenzie Shirilla is once again in hot water. The 21-year-old, who is currently incarcerated at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, boasted a shocking nickname to other prisoners, and it’s not “hell on wheels.” Mackenzie was sentenced to life in prison in August 2023 after being found guilty of intentionally crashing her car into a brick wall, killing two passengers, her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and their friend, Davion Flanagan. While in prison for her crime, she started dating a fellow inmate at the prison, Shyann Topping, 27, telling her she went by the nickname “Shirilla the killa.” The two dated for just two weeks when Shyann was released from prison.  © COURTESY OF NETFLIXMackenzie is from Strongsville, Ohio “Mackenzie was upset that I was leaving,” she told the US Sun. “She would tell me all the time, ‘I wish we met sooner, before you were about to get out. I wish you would have talked before this.’” Since leaving prison, the former inmate hasn’t spoken to Mackenzie, but shared the plans the 21-year-old had if she …

Woman at center of sprawling Minnesota fraud case gets nearly 42-year prison sentence

Woman at center of sprawling Minnesota fraud case gets nearly 42-year prison sentence

MINNEAPOLIS — A judge on Thursday handed down an extraordinary prison sentence — nearly 42 years — to the former leader of a Minnesota nonprofit who was convicted in a staggering $250-million fraud case that helped ignite an immigration crackdown by the Trump administration. Aimee Bock ran Feeding Our Future, which had claimed it helped provide millions of meals to children in need during the pandemic. The U.S. Justice Department, however, said she was atop the “single largest COVID-19 fraud scheme in the country.” “I understand I failed. I failed the public, my family, everyone,” Bock said in federal court. President Trump used the fraud cases against Bock and many others to initially justify a massive surge of federal officers to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area last winter, leading to a pushback by residents and the deaths of two people. “Feeding Our Future operated like a cash pipeline, open to anyone willing to submit fraudulent claims and pay kickbacks,” prosecutors said in a court filing. Bock had long proclaimed her innocence but was convicted last year of conspiracy, …

UK parents to face prison time if they don’t stop their kids committing crime | Politics | News

UK parents to face prison time if they don’t stop their kids committing crime | Politics | News

Parents could face jail if they fail to stop their children from committing crimes under Labour plans to overhaul the youth justice system. Ministers are hoping to prevent children from starting a life of crime with a series of reforms in the new Youth Justice White Paper published on Monday. Under the proposals, which come after the public inquiry into the Southport killings, parents and carers could face greater responsibility for their children who commit crimes and cause anti-social behaviour. Labour wants to strengthen parenting orders, which currently mean parents can be compelled to address their children’s behaviour through counselling and guidance, or can lead to fines. The issuing of such orders has fallen significantly over the last two decades, from more than 1,000 in 2009/10, to 33 in 2022/23, according to the Ministry of Justice. Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy is proposing to give courts additional powers to jail parents who fail to comply with the orders, The Telegraph reports. Increasing the current maximum fine of £1,000 is also said to …

Israeli Troops Get Prison for Desecration of Virgin Mary Statue in Lebanon

JERUSALEM (AP) — Two Israeli soldiers will spend weeks in military prison for desecration of a Christian object after one stuck a cigarette in the mouth of a statue of the Virgin Mary in southern Lebanon and the other photographed it. Israel’s military said the soldier posing would get 21 days in military prison and the soldier who photographed it would get 14. The military “views the incident with great severity and respects freedom of religion and worship, as well as holy sites and religious symbols of all religions and communities,” spokesperson LLt. Col. Ariella Mazor wrote X. The photo circulated days after images of an Israeli soldier wielding an ax against a fallen statue of Jesus on the cross in the southern Lebanon village …
