Democratic AGs snub Vance’s White House anti-fraud roundtable

U.S. Vice President JD Vance holds a press conference to discuss “anti-fraud initiatives” in the Indian Treaty Room at the White House complex in Washington, D.C., U.S., May 13, 2026. Evelyn Hockstein | Reuters Democratic state attorneys general declined an invitation to Vice President JD Vance’s anti-fraud initiatives roundtable at the White House on Tuesday, citing the fact that they were only invited on Friday, days after their Republican counterparts were asked to attend. “While we would appreciate the opportunity to engage in serious discussions, the invitation was provided with less than one business day’s notice with no agenda,” the 24 attorneys general wrote Vance in a letter dated Tuesday, after the Memorial Day holiday. “This short notice does not match the spirit of collaboration that has long defined our joint efforts with federal partners,” the letter said. “Accordingly, we respectfully decline to attend at this time.” Among the attorneys general who declined to attend is Keith Ellison of Minnesota, whose state has been the focus of Trump administration actions targeting alleged Medicaid fraud schemes …

‘Summer should be fine’ as Europe’s jet fuel fears ease – POLITICO

“Our fuel suppliers as recently as this week have confirmed they expect no supply disruption right out to the middle of July, and the situation continues to improve,” Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said on Monday. The airline boss said he is now confident that rising fuel imports from West Africa, the U.S. and Norway are making up for reduced volumes from the Middle East, caused by the blockade of most tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. The more optimistic mood is a stark contrast to the warning issued a month ago by Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency, who said European countries could face jet fuel shortages by the end of May. But the agency’s latest oil market report, issued earlier this month, now notes a surge in jet fuel production in the U.S. and West Africa. “Alternative suppliers have moved to fill the gap,” the IEA said. “The United States flipped from a net importer in April 2025 to net exporter in early 2026, as strong refinery runs pushed jet …

The Faithful triumph in another tense roundtable as second Traitor is banished

**Warning: Contains spoilers for The Traitors season 4** The nation waited with bated breath for tonight’s episode of The Traitors following the chaos of the night before which saw two Traitors go head-to-head in front of the entire group. In a rather explosive fifth episode, Fiona shared with the group she believed Rachel was a Traitor, after the head of communications told the group that the recently departed Amanda was a former detective – something Fiona believed to be a lie. Tonight’s episode (9th January) saw Rachel and Fiona face one another in the turret, as Fiona accused Rachel of playing the game for herself after claiming that she hadn’t defended fellow Traitor Stephen. It was clear that Fiona and Rachel would be going for one another at the roundtable, but nothing could’ve prepared the Faithful for the banishment to come. As the roundtable commenced, Rachel and Fiona went head-to-head, both accusing the other of being a Traitor. After a final plea from Fiona and some tears for Stephen, the time soon came for the …

Dwayne Johnson, Michael B. Jordan and the Actor Roundtable

The seven men who gathered for THR‘s Oscar season Actors Roundtable — Frankenstein’s Jacob Elordi, The Life of Chuck’s Mark Hamill, The Smashing Machine’s Dwayne Johnson, Sinners’ Michael B. Jordan, The Secret Agent’s Wagner Moura, Jay Kelly’s Adam Sandler and Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere’s Jeremy Allen White — don’t share very much in common. Photographed by Beau Grealy Five are American (Hamill, Johnson, Jordan, Sandler and White), one is Australian (Elordi) and one is Brazilian (Moura). Their ages span from 20s (Elordi, 28) to 70s (Hamill, 74). Some shot to fame on TV (Elordi on Euphoria, Jordan on The Wire, Moura on Narcos, Sandler on Saturday Night Live and White on Shameless), another in movies (Hamill via a little film called Star Wars) and still another in, of all things, wrestling (Johnson). But as they sat down together at The Sun Rose West Hollywood in mid-November amid a wave of mutual admiration — “I’ve always wanted to meet you,” gushed Johnson, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, to Hamill, whom he first “encountered” decades ago …
