Research Found One Unexpected Detail That Makes Men Way More Attractive To Women

Research Found One Unexpected Detail That Makes Men Way More Attractive To Women

It turns out that while women may be attracted on a personality level to good boys, on an exterior level, they at least want their good boys to look a little bad.  Just how can the good guys get this image? One study has suggested that ladies are more likely to see guys with tattoos as being attractive, aggressive, and dominant, which is a lot of supposition to get from just a little ink. Research found that having tattoos makes men way more attractive to women Manel Ponce Rodriguez via Shutterstock The study consisted of 2,500 men and women and gauged their reactions to photos, as researchers are pretty good at making people judge others in the name of science. The researchers asked them to stare at and rate shirtless men who sported various types of tattoos on their bodies. Some of the photos even added digital tattoos to the people in the pictures, like small pieces of ink on their otherwise non-tattooed arms. It turns out that tattooed individuals were more likely to be considered more …

People Who Never Get Tattoos Think Differently From Everyone Else In 10 Ways

People Who Never Get Tattoos Think Differently From Everyone Else In 10 Ways

Though tattoos date back thousands of years, society today tends to view them quite negatively, attaching a stigma to them, despite nearly one-third of Americans having one. Tattoos are meant to show cultural identity and self-expression, and while there’s nothing wrong with permanent art on your body, not everyone feels or thinks the same.  People who never get tattoos think differently from everyone else in many ways, whether it’s not wanting to take risks or being indecisive to the point of not wanting something they can’t undo. It’s not that they look down on others with art on their body, but that it’s a personal preference that goes along with the way their mind works. They have higher risk aversion DimaBerlin | Shutterstock While tattoos are a huge decision, those who get them tend to be fiercely independent. Living by their own rules, they aren’t concerned about what others think. But people who never get tattoos tend to have a higher …

Body as masterpiece: nipples, skeletons and tattoos dominate at record-breaking Met Gala | Met Gala

Body as masterpiece: nipples, skeletons and tattoos dominate at record-breaking Met Gala | Met Gala

Two assets the modern 1% love to show off are their designer wardrobes … and their expensive bodies. The Met Gala opening of an exhibition about “the dressed body” presented an opportunity to do both, and it proved irresistible. The evening raised a record-breaking $42m (£31m) for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with the lead sponsors Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos thought to have contributed $10m, and individual guests writing cheques for up to $1m in order to make the Anna Wintour-approved final cut. The official dress code was “Fashion Is Art”. But the golden rule in fashion, as in life, is that those with the gold make the rules, and this elite crowd bent Wintour’s diktat according to their will. The red carpet was divided between looks that paid tribute to famous fashion moments in art history, and others that celebrated the body itself as a very modern masterpiece. No prizes for guessing which half made the biggest splash. Just as the Costume Institute’s annual opening party red carpet always attracts far more …

New study challenges what we know about tattoos and skin cancer

New study challenges what we know about tattoos and skin cancer

Get the Well Enough newsletter with Harry Bullmore for tips on living a healthier, happier and longer life Get the Well Enough email with Harry Bullmore Get the Well Enough email with Harry Bullmore Can tattoos protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, or do they make things worse? A new study I conducted with colleagues suggests there may be cause for concern. We found that people with tattoos had a 29% higher risk of developing melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer often linked to ultraviolet (UV) exposure. However, tattoos did not appear to increase the risk of squamous cell carcinoma, another type of skin cancer related to UV damage. Although both cancers share a common cause, they arise from different cell types and differ in severity, with melanoma being far more dangerous. Tattoos are a powerful form of self-expression and a cornerstone of modern identity. In Sweden, around one in three adults is tattooed, showing how body art has moved firmly into the mainstream. Yet despite their popularity, scientists still do not …

Scientists Say People With Two Or More Tattoos Often Develop A Protection Against Skin Cancer

Scientists Say People With Two Or More Tattoos Often Develop A Protection Against Skin Cancer

Tattoos are known as a fun way to express yourself through your favorite designs, whether it be a quote, floral pattern, or character from a beloved franchise. However, now, it may also be a way to protect your body from biological harm.  A recent study conducted by the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah originally started as a way of investigating the link between cancer and having tattoos, particularly focusing on tattoo ink. However, they were shocked to discover that the results were correlated in a completely different way.  According to research, having more than one tattoo can decrease the risk of having skin cancer. The team had originally explored the hypothesis that tattoos would increase the possibility of being diagnosed with melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Melanoma develops through excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation, which is invisible rays cast by the sun, but can also be found in items such as tanning beds or sun lamps.  polinaloves | Shutterstock The theory was based on the tattoo ink’s components, which may …

Victoria Beckham has removed all of her tattoos

Victoria Beckham has removed all of her tattoos

Victoria Beckham has removed all of her tattoos, according to her son Cruz Beckham. The Spice Girls star used to have a number of inkings including tributes to her husband David Beckham and their four children, but her 21-year-old son Cruz has now revealed Victoria had them all lasered off. During a question-and-answer session with fans on Instagram, one of his followers asked: “Does Victoria Beckham have any tattoos? I know that David has many,” and Cruz replied: “No not anymore x”. Victoria previous had her husband’s initials – DB – and the message “Together, forever, eternally” in Hebrew inked on her left wrist to mark the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary. She also tattooed the date May 8 2006 in Roman numerals to symbolise the day she renewed her wedding vows along with “De Integro” – which is Latin for “from the beginning”. Victoria also had a Hebrew poem on her back which was translated to “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” as well as five stars, which were said to represent …

Women with tattoos feel more attractive but experience the same body anxieties in the bedroom

Women with tattoos feel more attractive but experience the same body anxieties in the bedroom

Getting a tattoo often makes young women feel more attractive, but this boost in confidence does not translate into better sexual functioning or improved body image in the bedroom. A recent survey revealed that while lower anxiety about physical appearance during intimacy is linked to higher sexual satisfaction, body art itself plays no statistical role in this relationship. These results were published in the journal Critical Public Health. Body art has transformed from a stigmatized marker of rebellion into a mainstream form of aesthetic self-expression. Many young adults now use ink to commemorate life events, assert autonomy over their physical forms, or simply decorate their skin. With this cultural shift, researchers wanted to understand how permanent body modifications might relate to a person’s intimate life. Historically, tattoos were associated with specific subcultures, like sailors or prisoners, and were often viewed as a rejection of conservative norms. Today, the practice has become a socially acceptable addition to everyday fashion. This normalization prompted scientists to ask if such physical modifications could alter deep-seated psychological perceptions. Body image …

‘Reacher’ Star Alan Ritchson Talks ‘War Machine’ and Matching Tattoos

‘Reacher’ Star Alan Ritchson Talks ‘War Machine’ and Matching Tattoos

If his breakout success on Prime Video’s global smash Reacher proved anything, it’s that Alan Ritchson always rises to the challenge. (Case in point: On the last season, he faced off with and ultimately defeated a towering foe in the form of Olivier Richters, a 7’2’’, 350-lb. brute who played security guard Paul Masserella aka Paulie.) But his newest project, Netflix’s War Machine from filmmaker Patrick Hughes, demanded new feats of physicality that nearly broke him. “It was hard. I’m not going to lie, this was the most I’ve ever been pushed physically, and it was the most I’ve ever doubted my own ability to finish,” Ritchson revealed to The Hollywood Reporter. Spoiler alert: He finished and the results are currently on streaming, so it’s easy to find evidence to back up his bold statement. War Machine, not to be confused with the Brad Pitt-starrer of the same name on Netflix (more on that below), stars Ritchson as a combat engineer known only as “81.” After witnessing the tragic death of his brother while in …
