People Should Vacation Every Two Months To Recover From Work

Nothing good comes from spending day after day, constantly working without taking a break. In fact, researchers have proven that taking a vacation is a surefire way to improve overall well-being. But that doesn’t mean that we’re going away as often as we should. So, how much time away from the daily grind is needed to actually recover from the stress and burnout of work? According to a 2025 study, it’s a whole lot more than the average employee is taking. We all know there are a boatload of reasons why using PTO is harder than it should be, from limited days to fear of falling behind and possibly losing your job, but overwork isn’t doing any of us any favors, especially when it comes to health. That means it’s high time to start prioritizing rest and relaxation. People need to take a vacation every two months in order to recover from what work does to them. CEO Requests Staff Donate Their PTO To Employee Who Exhausted Hers

CEO Requests Staff Donate Their PTO To Employee Who Exhausted Hers

Depending on the job a person has, they’re usually afforded paid time off, or PTO. Technically, PTO isn’t required by law, but it has become pretty standard in the workforce. But what happens when an employee runs out of PTO when they still need more? Should they have to turn to their colleagues for help, or should their boss step in? One CEO highlighted this dilemma in a new way by asking their employees to “donate” their PTO to a co-worker in need. The CEO requested that staff members ‘donate’ their PTO days to an employee who ‘exhausted’ all of hers. A frustrated worker posted the message their company’s CEO shared in their office in the r/antiwork subreddit, calling it “pathetic.” On the notice, the CEO stated that a “long-term employee of 17 years … has been in the hospital and rehab for several months. She has exhausted all her PTO days and her benefits are running out. As you can imagine, this has been quite a drain on her family’s income.” The CEO asked …

How Many Vacations Working Women Need A Year To Not Be Stressed & Depressed, According To Research

We all know vacations are good for our mental health, but research shows just how many vacations working women need a year to not be stressed and depressed.  A travel content creator named Sera issued a crucial warning to women on how to actually take care of their minds, bodies, and hearts while working full-time: “Do not skip vacations.” She referenced research that maintains that taking a vacation is more than a fun way to spend free time; it’s crucial to our physical and mental health.  That’s not just lip service anymore, either. According to the largest study on women in corporate America, women are experiencing burnout at much higher rates than men, and the gap is widening. Women who take 3 to 4 vacations a year are less likely to be stressed or depressed. Female workers who vacation more than twice a year deal with less depression and less chronic stress than those who skip out on their PTO. Sadly, skipping out on PTO is sadly pretty common. Worker Calls Unlimited PTO A Scam After Boss Denies Time Off

Worker Calls Unlimited PTO A Scam After Boss Denies Time Off

A worker turned to Reddit to complain that unlimited PTO is a scam after his boss denied his time-off request, saying it would “send the wrong message” to other employees. Funny thing? He asked for a measly two days off, nearly 3 weeks in advance. Unlimited PTO truly does sound like a dream on paper. You’re able to take off as much time as you want, whenever you want, without having to worry about running out. That dream vacation to Europe almost sounds possible when unlimited PTO is on the table, right? Not exactly. Often, unlimited PTO is a selling point for companies when recruiting candidates, but once you start working, the practice of actually taking any days at all is suddenly looked down on. Worker calls unlimited PTO a ‘scam’ after boss says taking time off would ‘send the wrong message.’ “I tried to request a Thursday/Friday off three weeks in advance. [I] got pulled into a meeting and [was] told that while we technically have unlimited time off, taking days right now would …

How To Get 23 Days Off Work In 2026 Using Only 6 Days Of PTO

Using a technique called “bridging,” savvy employees can get 23 days off work in 2026 by only using 6 of their paid vacation days. The technique works by using your vacation days around observed federal holidays, as long as your employer allows those days off.  Who doesn’t want extra vacation days? Especially since most companies only offer employees a week or two of PTO. But, with smart scheduling and efficient planning, you can score yourself nearly a month off without sacrificing all of your paid time off.  You can get 23 days off in 2026, using only 6 days of PTO.  An Instagram post has been making the rounds on socials because it lays out a schedule that ensures a whopping 23 days off from work in 2026 by only using six vacation days. Dubbed the bridging technique, the post explained, “The technique involves ‘bridging’ federal holidays by taking the adjacent working day off. This merges the holiday with the nearest weekend, greatly extending the break while conserving PTO.” An important caveat to the post is …
