The next Fortnite season is almost upon us, and we’re gearing up for the release of Chapter 7 Season 4.
This season is set to be a big one, with plenty of incredible crossovers already being reported.

When does the next Fortnite season start? Chapter 7 Season 4 release date
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is expected to begin on Thursday, 20 August 2026.
Season 4 is scheduled to end on 19 August, at which point the game will go down for a few hours of maintenance as the servers are rebooted for the new season.
Depending on the size of the new update, this could take anywhere from a couple of hours to all day, though we’ll obviously be hoping for the former.
What do we know about Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4?
Not much is known about Chapter 7 Season 4 as Epic Games is keeping things under wraps.
One thing we know for sure is that the name of the season is ‘Override,’ as teased by Epic Games earlier this month.
According to various leaks and rumours, the season will be a celebration of gaming, bringing iconic characters from some of the biggest franchises around to Fortnite for the first time.
The only one of these we have confirmation of so far is Sonic, who was teased with a short clip of Peely running through Green Hill Zone from the Sonic games.
A report from prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX alleged that collaborations with Kingdom Hearts, Vampire Survivors, KakaoGames, Kernel Hearts and Ember & Blade are all also confirmed.
Furthermore, there are leaked collaborations with Persona 5, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, although these are not 100% confirmed, according to HYPEX.
Of course, this would be far from the first time that Fortnite has added video game characters to the game, with Street Fighter, God of War, Halo, Tomb Raider and many more already getting their own crossover skins.
