The Best Smart Home Accessories to Boost Your Curb Appeal (2026)

The Best Smart Home Accessories to Boost Your Curb Appeal (2026)

I tried the battery version, which does require you recharge it every couple of weeks, but the wired-in version is the top recommendation on our guide to the Best Video Doorbells. A Better Birdhouse I had a new-to-me problem this spring: bird invasion. A little bird made a nest in my front-door wreath without us noticing. One evening, my sister opened the door, and the bird flew out of the nest and straight into our house. After a 30-minute battle to get it outside again (and keep my cat from eating it), it wasn’t until we saw the bird fly off the door again the next day that we realized it was calling our home its home, too. If this is a common problem at your house, our resident bird-gear tester Kat Merck has a solution: a smart nesting box. Birdfy makes a few different smart bird feeders we like for bird-watching, and the Nest Duo is a birdhouse that lets you watch the birds while they nest inside of it. It’s a slim, attractive …

The Best MagSafe Accessories (for Android, Too!): Chargers, Wallets, and More

Other Good MagSafe Accessories The accessories below aren’t as great as the top picks in this guide, but they’re still good options if you’re looking for more MagSafe gadgets. Belkin iPhone Mount With MagSafe. Photograph: Julian Chokkattu Belkin iPhone Mount With MagSafe: Using Apple’s Continuity Camera feature, you can wirelessly use your iPhone as a webcam for a MacBook. It supports various video calling apps too, from FaceTime to Zoom. This circular silicone puck magnetically sticks to the back of your iPhone and can be used as a phone grip or kickstand, but you need to keep your screen close to a 90-degree angle, or else the weight of the iPhone will drag the screen back or forward. There’s also a mount for external displays, in case you want one for your home desk setup. Harbor London Sleeve for $159: Prefer a more luxe laptop sleeve? WIRED editor Julian Chokkattu has had a good experience with Harber London’s full-grain leather sleeve. The inside is lined with wool felt to keep your machine scratch-free, and the black or tan leather exudes luxury. It fits a variety of MacBook models, including the largest 16-inch model. The flap stays shut thanks to magnets, so your MacBook won’t easily slip out. You can even charge the laptop while it’s in the sleeve.—Brenda Stoylar CalDigit TS5 Plus. Best GoPro Camera (2026): Compact, Budget, Accessories

The Top 5 GoPro Hero Cameras Compared GoPros to Avoid GoPro doesn’t sell anything older than the Hero 12, but there are plenty of Hero 11s and even Hero 10s out there for sale on the internet. We suggest avoiding them. They may work fine, but modern accessories designed for later models won’t work, and these cameras have likely been through the wringer. (They are action cameras, after all.) GoPro Hero 11 Black GoPro no longer sells the Hero 11, but it’s still commonly available on Amazon and other retailers. Unfortunately, it’s usually the same price as the Hero 12 (around $300) and therefore not worth buying. The Best GoPro Accessories Photograph: Scott Gilbertson Should you buy a bundle? Generally, I say no. Get the camera, figure it out, and see how you end up using it. When you find yourself trying to solve a problem, start looking for an accessory. Here are some of my favorite things that I’ve tested and used, but if you have favorites you think I should try, drop a …

The 23 Best iPhone 17 Cases and Accessories Out of More Than 100 (2026)

The 23 Best iPhone 17 Cases and Accessories Out of More Than 100 (2026)

A 45-Watt Charger Photograph: Julian Chokkattu Anker Nano 45W With USB-C Cable Did you know your new iPhone can charge faster than ever? With a 40-watt charging adapter, you can get up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes. Your old charger will still be fine, but if you want the fastest speeds, I like this simple, no-frills charger from Anker. At 45W, it covers your bases and can even juice up a laptop like a MacBook Air. The prongs fold up, making it nice for travel, too. I tested it with the iPhone 17 Pro and confirmed that the phone was receiving 35 watts when it was close to zero percent (the iPhone 17 Pro accepts up to 36 watts), which is great. My fast-charge speeds beat Apple’s claims, though. The device went from 7 to 83 percent in 30 minutes. Wowza. Better yet, Anker includes a 6-foot USB-C to USB-C cable. —Julian Chokkattu Other Screen Protectors We’ve Tested Photograph: Julian Chokkattu Spigen AluminaCore Tempered Glass Screen Protector for $28: Spigen’s Glas.tR EZ Fit …

Stefano Gabbana steps down as Dolce & Gabbana chair

Stefano Gabbana steps down as Dolce & Gabbana chair

Dolce & Gabbana co-founder Stefano Gabbana has resigned as chair of the Italian luxury brand as the company braces for talks with its lenders. The fashion house, known for its maximalist interpretation of Italian style, has suffered in a prolonged global downturn in the luxury sector, while geopolitical tensions and war in the Middle East have further dented consumer confidence.  Gabbana stepped down from his management functions on January 1 “as part of a natural evolution of its organisational structure and governance”, the company said in a statement on Friday. He will remain in his creative roles. “These resignations have no impact whatsoever on the creative activities carried out by Stefano Gabbana on behalf of the group,” it said, adding it had “no statement to make at this time” on the negotiations with the banks.  Founded in 1985, Dolce & Gabbana has been one of the world’s top fashion brands, known for its opulent Alta Moda couture shows, Sicilian-inflected black lace designs and silhouette-moulding corset dresses.  Gabbana and co-founder Domenico Dolce each own a 40 …

Best Laptop Stands (2026): After Testing 25+ Models, These 5 Stand Out

What to Look for in a Laptop Stand AccordionItemContainerButton When shopping for a laptop stand, think about how and where you’ll use it, and how much you’re willing to spend. Here’s what you need to consider: Do you need portability? If you commute or like to work from a coffee shop, opt for a foldable laptop stand that fits in your bag. Some models even double as cases, like Moft’s Carry Sleeve. Material preferences? Laptop stands come in a variety of materials—aluminum, steel, plastic, wood, etc. Aluminum models are generally lightweight and excellent for heat dissipation. Steel stands are sturdier but heavier, and plastic tends to be more affordable but also wobblier. If aesthetics matter, some wooden models like Grovemade’s Walnut Stand or Oakywood Laptop Stand add a bit more warmth and polish to your space. How adjustable? Everyone’s workspace is different, and everybody is different, so most people benefit from an adjustable stand that lets you tweak your setup. If you’re using a sit-stand desk, you’ll want a stand that accommodates both modes. Some …

8 Best Apple Watch Accessories (2026): Bands, Chargers, and More

8 Best Apple Watch Accessories (2026): Bands, Chargers, and More

Not only are the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 the best workout earbuds if you have an Apple Watch, but they are also the best workout earbuds, period. They even have a heart rate monitor that’s built off the one used in the Apple Watch. If you already own an Apple Watch, this feature is superfluous, as iOS will prioritize the Apple Watch’s more sophisticated readings over the earbuds. But if you run with third-party fitness apps like Nike Run Club or Peloton, you will find the extra data useful. On top of that, the buds are crazy comfortable, sound great, have excellent noise canceling, and have most of the aforementioned Apple-exclusive features, like hands-free Siri (no Adaptive Audio, however, sad). The case also sports wireless charging and, unlike many of Apple’s other products, it comes in bright, fun colors. Our test unit is Electric Orange, but I find the Hyper Purple to be just as good. —Adrienne So Source link

Best Apple Watch Bands of 2026: Nike, Hermés, and More

Best Apple Watch Bands of 2026: Nike, Hermés, and More

Apple Watches are smart little gadgets, but they don’t always fit the vibe. There were plenty of nights and dressier events when I left mine at home because—as much as I wanted to check my notifications discreetly—it didn’t match my outfit. I’ve also had my fair share of faux pas and just let the neon orange sport band clash with my neutral ensemble. Fortunately, Apple Watch bands are a simple and relatively affordable way to zhuzh up the look of your wearable. Beyond aesthetics, different styles also impact performance and functionality. For example, personally, I don’t want a heavy stainless steel or high-quality leather band weighing me down during a sweaty workout, just as I wouldn’t wear a flimsy silicone band to a dinner party. At WIRED, we’ve been testing bands since the very first Apple Watch launched in 2015. After years of wearing and swapping, I’ve rounded up the best bands for every occasion.
