The British pop group are widely credited with popularising the mantra in the mid-Nineties, today splitting opinion over whether it helped revive the feminist movement or if it was part of a cynical marketing campaign. However, what has been noted on several occasions is the fact that the Spice Girls did not coin the “girl power” phrase themselves. (RNS) — Speaking to his millions of viewers last week, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson blamed an unlikely target, Chabad-Lubavitch, the Jewish Hasidic group known for its international outreach efforts, as an instigator of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.  He claimed, without proof, that Chabad is behind the war in an attempt to construct a Third Temple, a rebuild of a historical Jewish holy site, on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Muslim holy site that currently stands there. He also accused the group, and Jews in general, of orchestrating a global conflict between Christian and Muslim worlds. “This has been going on a long time in public through, in part, the efforts of a group called Chabad — C-H-A-B-A-D,” Carlson said, spelling out the group’s name on the March 5 episode of his YouTube show. MILAN — The action got heated on the ice during the men’s curling contest between Canada and Sweden on Friday, resulting in a shouting match between the two sides. The Swedish team accused Canada of cheating in what was ultimately an 8-6 win for the Canadians. Specifically, Sweden reported to referees that Canada’s Marc Kennedy was illegally touching his stone, giving it a secondary push with his finger after releasing the handle on top. Follow along for live coverage. In curling, players are required to release their stone before it reaches the “hog line,” marked on Olympic ice by a thick, green line. A sensor flashes red if players have not released the stone before it reaches the hog line, but Kennedy was accused of using his finger to give the stone another shove after letting go. This included a bizarre accusation that the Jesus People Movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s was actually a CIA operation. As well, the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, stated in a recent interview that he believes in God, The Creator. Though certainly not a confession of Christian faith, it is a step in the right direction. But there was more going on than that including increasing evidence that Communist controlled countries are cracking down on Christians. Communist Crackdown on Christians According to a report by International Christian Concern there is a crackdown on Christians taking place in the world’s five communist countries. This includes China, Viet Nam, North Korea, Cuba and Laos. In all five jurisdictions, Christian churches are forced to register with the government.
