Elon Musk Is So Unlikable That His Feud With Random Airline Is Doing Wonders for Sales, Says CEO

Brian Lawless / PA Images via Getty Images Elon Musk tried to pick a fight with a major airline CEO — who says thanks for all the additional business you’re bringing in with your public tantrum, sucker. “We love these PR spats that drive bookings on Ryanair,” the budget airline’s chief Michael O’Leary said at a news conference in Dublin on Wednesday, as quoted by CNN. “And we want to thank him sincerely for the additional publicity.” The trash talking began last week when the Irish airline, the largest in Europe, said it wouldn’t install its fleet with Starlink technology, a satellite-based internet service operated by Musk’s company SpaceX. O’Leary claimed that the Starlink antennas would add drag to the planes and drive up fuel costs. Musk could barely hide the sting he felt from the snub. He initially responded by calling O’Leary “misinformed” and added that he doubted Ryanair “can even measure the difference in fuel use accurately.”  Smelling controversy, O’Leary went on a interview with the Irish radio station Newstalk to taunt the …

Elon Musk vs Ryanair: Could tech billionaire actually buy budget airline and what started online spat? | Money News

Elon Musk has said he could buy Ryanair amid an ongoing public spat with the budget airline’s boss Michael O’Leary. The two have clashed numerous times over the past few days, resulting in Mr Musk asking his X followers if he should buy Ryanair and “restore Ryan as their rightful ruler”. Ryanair responded by announcing a “big idiot seat sale”, which it says is for the billionaire tech mogul and any other “idiots” on Mr Musk’s social media platform. In an interview with Irish radio station Newstalk on 16 January, Mr O’Leary said he would not install the technology because he believed that …

Elon Musk’s Starship Explosion Endangered Hundreds of Airline Passengers

On January 16, SpaceX conceded that the latest prototype of its enormous Starship spacecraft had “experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly during its ascent burn” — a tongue-in-cheek admission that the massive rocket had exploded mid-flight. Countless videos circulating online showed a massive stream of reentering pieces of the Starship rocket blazing across the evening sky over the West Indian islands of Turks and Caicos. It was a dazzling sight to behold as the destruction streaked across the sky, like something from science fiction. “Success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed!” a gleeful Musk wrote at the time. But it wasn’t all fun and games. Residents of Turks and Caicos, for instance, soon found scraps of burnt rubber and other rocket pieces littering the Caribbean islands’ otherwise pristine beaches. The incident, which was almost perfectly repeated on February 24, even forced airlines to quickly adjust their flight paths to avoid the terrifying field of burning metal. And now, eleven months later, the Wall Street Journal has obtained Federal Aviation Administration documents revealing that three aircraft — …
