Texas QB Arch Manning Says He’s Feeling ‘100 Percent’ After Foot Surgery

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas quarterback Arch Manning is doing light workouts so far in spring practice following offseason foot surgery. But he said Wednesday that his body is as strong as it’s been since he had what school officials said was a minor procedure in January. “I feel 100 percent right now. We’re kind of taking it slow, but if we had a game today I’d be playing,” Manning said. “Obviously when you’re not out there, you’re kind of antsy. It was hard the first few weeks just not being able to do anything. Now I get to do a little bit more.” Manning is coming off his first season as the Longhorns’ full-time starter. The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning passed for 3,163 yards and 26 touchdowns and ran for 10 TDs in 2025. While he waits to do more on the field, he’s been focused on mental reps, footwork drills and getting to know some of his new teammates. “It’s been different, but it’s been good,” Manning said. “It’s honestly been …

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Kempczinski reflected on what went into his awkward bites of the fast food chain’s massive new burger in a video that went viral after it was posted in February. Some viewers went so far as to suggest that Kempczinski looked like a vegetarian trying meat for the first time. “I’m definitely not a vegetarian,” the CEO told the Journal. “I blame it all on my mom because she told me, ‘Don’t talk with your mouth full.’” He added, “I think probably, in that case, I should have just said, ‘You know what? To hell with …

Jon Elswick/AP hide caption toggle caption Jon Elswick/AP President Trump on Friday unveiled official architectural renderings for the triumphal arch he plans to add to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The proposed monument would stand at one end of the Arlington Memorial Bridge next to the Arlington National Cemetery. In addition to the president’s post on Truth Social, the plans were released by the Commission on Fine Arts, a federal agency that has review authority over the design and aesthetics of construction within Washington, D.C., and produced by Harrison Design, an architecture, interior and landscape design firm with offices in six U.S. cities, including D.C. Trump Unveils Latest Plans for Proposed Triumphal Arch

The Trump administration released on Friday its design for a 250-foot triumphal arch that would face the Lincoln Memorial, part of a portfolio of projects intended to monumentalize the president’s time in Washington, D.C. According to The New York Times, which first reported the news, the plan was submitted to the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. The federal design panel, composed of members appointed during the Trump administration, will deliberate on the proposal when convened next week. Related Articles The arch would rise at one end of the Arlington Memorial Bridge over the Potomac River and has been framed by its proponents as a means to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. President Trump introduced the project last October at a dinner held at the White House in honor of donors to another planned addition near Capitol Hill: a $400 million ballroom attached to the White House’s East Wing. Guests at the dinner were shown models of the proposed arch featuring two eagles and a golden angel with outstretched wings, reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe. Trump …

It doesn’t end well. That, at least, appears to be the emphatic answer after the CEO of McDonald’s, Chris Kempczinski, filmed himself eating the chain’s new Big Arch burger, and became the internet’s new entrée in the process. In an Instagram video shared last month, which went viral over the weekend, Kempczinski told viewers how “unique” the burger was. He described how the sesame and poppy seed bun was packed with two quarter-pound beef patties, crispy onions, three slices of cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce and a tangy sauce. “I don’t even know how to attack it, there’s so much to it,” he said, while holding the burger in his hands and taking …

Vietnam Veterans sue to block proposed ‘Independence Arch’ near Arlington National Cemetery : NPR

Memorial Circle, the proposed plot of land near Memorial Bridge where the Independence Arch could be built is seen in Washington, Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026. Nathan Howard/AP hide caption toggle caption Nathan Howard/AP A group of Vietnam War veterans and a retired architectural historian have filed a federal lawsuit seeking to block construction of a proposed monument near Arlington National Cemetery. The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, challenges President Trump’s plans for “Independence Arch,” a 250-foot structure proposed for Memorial Circle. The plaintiffs, represented by Public Citizen Litigation Group, call the proposed plan a “vanity project” that would disrupt one of Washington’s most symbolically charged sightlines between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington House, a view designed to evoke national unity after the Civil War. Vietnam veterans Michael Lemmon, Shaun Byrnes and Jon Gundersen believe the structure would “dishonor their military and foreign service” by intruding on a solemn view they visit regularly, according to the complaint. The arch could also “pose a hazard to air travel at …

Veterans Sue Over Trump’s Proposed 250-Foot Arch

A group of three military veterans and a historical preservationist filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration’s proposed 250-foot arch that opponents contend would mar the views from Arlington National Cemetery to other monuments around Washington, D.C. At 250 feet, the arch would be more than twice as tall as the Lincoln Memorial. And at its proposed location on the bank of the Potomac River, the so-called Independence Arch would blight “the symbolic and inspiring view” from the hallowed Arlington National Cemetery across the water in Virginia, according to the suit filed on behalf of veterans Michael Lemmon, Shaun Byrnes, and Jon Gundersen as well as Calder Loth, a retired senior architectural historian for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Related Articles As reported by The Washington Post, “Public Citizen, a government watchdog organization, filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and is seeking to halt the project until the Trump administration secures approval from Congress and federal review panels.” The paper noted that federal review panels have yet …

Keir Starmer is finished – and this arch nemesis has dealt him a devastating blow | Politics | News

The Peter Mandelson scandal has not only buried his own political career, but it could also end Keir Starmer’s, too. It is staggering that the Prime Minister appointed a man with a track record of political scandals as US ambassador, despite knowing that he was matey with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In times of crisis, you need friends. Sir Keir has very few. Certainly not on the Labour back benches. That was evidently clear in PMQs as the ashen-faced Labour leader fumbled with his papers and garbled on aimlessly. Never before have I seen a Prime Minister so ineffectual. He had no fight in him. His leadership is now on life support and it was somewhat eyebrow-raising that Angela Rayner appeared to spearhead a backbench revolt over the Mandelson files. While the PM was crumbling in the Commons another potential Labour leader, Shabana Mahmood, contradicted him by admitting Brexit is not to blame for the Channel migrant crisis. Labour MPs, from all wings of the party, are also increasingly voicing privately that Sir Keir’s demise …
