Aspen Art Fair Announces 2026 Exhibitors, Outdoor Sculpture Garden

The Aspen Art Fair will return to the Hotel Jerome from July 29 through August 1 with more than 35 exhibitors for its third edition, as the boutique fair continues to carve out a distinct presence during Aspen Art Week.  The 2026 edition will be the first under director Kelly Cornell, who joined earlier this year while continuing to lead the Dallas Art Fair. Her appointment signaled a broader effort to connect collector communities across the two fairs while maintaining Aspen’s smaller scale and more intimate format.  Related Articles That scale, according to cofounder Bob Chase, remains central to the fair’s identity. Spread throughout the Jerome’s guest rooms and public spaces, the fair favors close viewing and slower conversations over the sprawl of larger convention-center fairs. “The Hotel Jerome is one of the most storied and intimate locations in Aspen and has become an integral part of the fair,” Chase told ARTnews. “It has long served as Aspen’s gathering place and that translates to the fair’s engaging, warm, and unique personality.” That intimacy also creates …

Aspen AIR Festival to Feature Lucy Raven, Camille Henrot, and More

After an inaugural edition last year, the AIR festival will return to Aspen, Colorado, in July with a program of performances, exhibitions, talks, and other events in the high-flying mountain town. The second edition, slated for July 27-31, will feature some artists who participated last time and others presenting work in Aspen for the first time, all under the theme “Figures in a Landscape.” Adrián Villar Rojas, who last year featured in a talk with novelist Álvaro Enrigue, will present a two-floor exhibition at the Aspen Art Museum, which organizes AIR, and will give a talk during the festival. And Matthew Barney will return with a presentation of sculptures related to his TACTICAL Parallax performance commissioned for AIR last year. The works will be installed just outside of Aspen, near where he performed last year: a historic field house on a ranch in Snowmass that was a training site for a World War II–era US military unit focused on mountain warfare. Related Articles Lucy Raven, who participated in a pre-festival retreat last year, will be …

Snowmobiles, Hot Sake, and Kevin Costner: 72 Hours at Moncler Grenoble’s Wild Aspen Weekend

Snowmobiles, Hot Sake, and Kevin Costner: 72 Hours at Moncler Grenoble’s Wild Aspen Weekend

When the international fashion crowd descended upon a New York City mired in sooty, ice-hardened snow last week, some sought respite from the bitter cold by attending sweaty NYFW parties. Others, perhaps, dreamt still of a far more picturesque frosty landscape. Just weeks earlier, on the last Saturday in January, a notable contingent of industry insiders—celebrities, editors, and top-spending clients among them—traveled thousands of miles for the opportunity to witness winter in its peak form in Aspen, Colorado, where Moncler staged the most extravagant fashion show on American soil so far this year. The show was the astounding centerpiece of a destination weekend to celebrate Moncler Grenoble, the Franco-Italian luxury brand’s performance-centric line, and the grand opening of its newest boutique in town. For the duration of the weekend, Moncler took over Aspen during its high season, when the world’s most affluent skiers—and après-ski enthusiasts—flock to the ritzy resort town for its world-class snowy peaks and boozy parties. The luxury winterwear giant set up their temporary headquarters at the boutique-y Hotel Jerome, the one-time counterculture …

Aspen Art Fair Names Kelly Cornell Director for 2026 at Hotel Jerome

The Aspen Art Fair will return to the historic Hotel Jerome from July 29 through August 1, 2026, for its third edition, this time under the direction of Kelly Cornell, who will continue in her role as the head of the Dallas Art Fair. From her perspective, the pairing works because of the similarities she sees between the two fairs. She noted that both have strong communities, engaged collectors, and a commitment to quality. Both also occupy a space where there is room to grow thoughtfully, without trying to become something else entirely, Cornell noted. Related Articles She confirmed that the two fairs remain entirely separate businesses. “Dallas is independently owned and so is Aspen,” she said, making clear that this is shared leadership, not a merger. In Dallas, she said, “the galleries are the VIPs.” They are the reason collectors and institutions show up, and her priority is to make sure dealers feel supported and celebrated. That approach will shape how she steps into Aspen. For cofounder Bob Chase, of Heron gallery, the fair’s identity remains inseparable …

Moncler Invited the Rich and Famous—And Me—To Aspen

Moncler Invited the Rich and Famous—And Me—To Aspen

After a complimentary glass of champagne at the St. Regis, my home for the weekend, I took an SUV—one of 180 available for Moncler guests throughout the weekend—for a 4-minute drive to the nearby Hotel Jerome, where, as I would later find out, the grownups were all staying. (As in, the VIP and high-profile guests, including Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini and my friend and perennial nicest-person-in-fashion award front-runner Rickie De Sole, a VP at Nordstrom and daughter of legendary Aspenite Domenico De Sole.) I was to join a press huddle with Ruffini, who would explain the reasoning behind staging his show in the US after choosing Courchevel last year and Saint Moritz the one before. This would be my first Grenoble show, though I did attend the €30 million spectacle Moncler hosted in Shanghai in 2024. In between hits of his vape, Ruffini delivered hit after hit of soundbites: “Brand perception is everything,” he said, in response to a question about his penchant for blockbuster shows. “I hope these journeys continue to elevate our brand,” …

Prince Harry and Nacho Figueras Had a Friendly Ski Weekend in Aspen

Prince Harry and Nacho Figueras Had a Friendly Ski Weekend in Aspen

December is for hitting the slopes, even if you’re royalty. And because Aspen is the top destination for skiing in the U.S., it was only a matter of time before Prince Harry made an appearance there. The Duke of Sussex traveled to Colorado last week to attend the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship. Aspen Snow Polo’s Instagram page noted that Harry competed on the Aspen Valley team, playing alongside Grant Ganzi and Nic Roldan. Missing from that roster was Nacho Figueras, Harry’s friend and a former professional polo player from Argentina, who was instead a part of the St. Regis team. Even though they were competitors at the sporting event, the pals were spotted on the slopes before the games began. Figueras and Harry spent a few hours together skiing and having a high-altitude lunch. According to Hello, which first reported the news, “Harry seemed happy and was also joined by a number of male friends on the slopes.” Harry and Figueras first met in 2007 during a tournament raising funds for Sentebale, a …

Inside Aspen’s St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship

Before the tournament kicked off on Wednesday, there was the obligatory pilgrimage to Kemo Sabe, where Mariah Carey, Shay Mitchell, and Pia Baroncini picked up custom cowboy hats—the must-have accessory for blending in with Aspen’s Western-chic aesthetic. Once play began at Rio Grande Park, champagne flowed freely alongside a raw bar, sushi station, and taco setup in the St. Regis tent. Roving waiters circulated, offering caviar bumps and freshly shucked oysters to a crowd swaddled in fur and cowboy boots, carrying dogs decked out in sunglasses, mini cowboy hats, and Moncler puffers. Base State Longevity, meanwhile, offered custom snow polo IV therapy drips, B12 shots, and oxygen therapy. Nacho Figueras and Shaun WhiteNick Radford. That evening, some, including Tina Chen Craig and James Tupper, retreated to the hotel’s RAKxa wellness spa to recharge in the ammortal chamber’s infrared therapy and try out Aescape’s AI-powered robotic massage. Others headed straight to the Staud for the St. Regis Alpine Collection unveiling, where White performed a champagne sabrage—slicing the bottle top with a sword.
