WASHINGTON (RNS) — A slate of political, military and religious leaders are scheduled to participate in a major faith-themed event on the National Mall next month, where members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, musical guests and a list of mostly conservative Christian speakers plan to lead participants in “solemnly rededicating our country as One Nation under God.” The event, titled “Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee Of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving,” is part of a series of events and initiatives designed to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Organized by the group Freedom 250 as part of a public-private partnership with the White House and other government bodies, the gathering roughly coincides with the anniversary of an order sent by then-General George Washington in 1776 seconding the Continental Congress’ call for a day of “fasting, humiliation and prayer.” The speaker lineup for the Rededicate event, which is scheduled for May 17 and expected to last all day, appears to be represent the core of Trump’s base of conservative religious support: …

Barron Trump is no longer a teenager! Donald and Melania Trump’s son turned 20 on March 20, and celebrated in style with his family and friends away from the spotlight.  His birthday couldn’t have come at a better time either, as it’s fallen during Spring Break at NYU, where he has been a student at the Stern School of Business since 2024. Barron Trump arrived at Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday in his first public appearance since his father’s inauguration in January 2025. The 19-year-old sat beside his siblings Ivanka, Eric, Donald Jr. and Tiffany at the Washington, D.C. event, clad in a black suit with a blue tie. The tie is a break from usual protocol at major political events, with Republicans often sporting red ties in line with their party color, while blue typically represents the Democratic Party. Barron’s own brothers wore red ties, as did Donald as he made the address. The NYU sophomore prefers to remain out of the spotlight, and even skipped his father’s address to Congress in March 2025, despite his siblings making an appearance. A man has been found guilty of assaulting a woman after Donald Trump’s youngest son told UK police that he saw her being attacked on a video call. Barron Trump, 19, was in the US when he told a 999 call handler that a woman was “getting beat up” in London, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard. Prosecutors said 22-year-old Russian national Matvei Rumiantsev was jealous of her friendship with the US president‘s son, possibly because of his “public profile”. He was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm between 17 and 18 January last year, and perverting the course of justice, after he wrote to the victim from prison asking her to withdraw her allegations. But Rumiantsev was cleared by the jury of rape and intentional strangulation relating to the same date when Mr Trump made his report to police, and another count of rape and assault alleged to have occurred in November 2024. A man accused of raping a woman answered a video call from the US president’s son Barron Trump during an altercation, a court has heard. Donald Trump’s son called his female friend only for Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, to answer instead. He pointed the camera at Mr Trump’s female friend – who was “hysterical crying, screaming, shouting”, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard on Thursday. The exchange prompted Mr Trump – who was in the US – to call British police and alert them. Rumiantsev now stands trial accused of assault and two counts of rape, among other charges, against the alleged victim. Jurors heard Rumiantsev and the woman had been drinking together on the evening of 17 January last year and into the early hours of the next day. Giving evidence on Thursday, the defendant told jurors that before he answered a call from the US president’s son on the alleged victim’s phone, the woman had been “in a stage of complete breakdown”, partly because she had been drinking. Barron Trump reportedly “saved” a woman’s life after she called him during an alleged attack from her ex-boyfriend. The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, testified that Barron called the UK police for her after he witnessed the alleged attack over FaceTime. The woman claimed that her ex-boyfriend was jealous of her friendship with the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump, and he allegedly became angry when Barron called her one night. The court then heard a recording of Barron’s call to emergency services in the UK, which was placed just before 2:30 am on January 18, 2025. “I just got a call from a girl I know.
