Beach Boys frontman Mike Love is “facing serious health challenges,” longtime friend John Stamos revealed Sunday in a lengthy post on social media as he prepared to join the band for a Sunday concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. “We hope he’ll be doing what he loves for years to come, but we don’t know what the future holds,” Stamos said of Love, who he called in part his “father figure, musical hero and mentor” and admitted he was “struggling to put [his] feelings into words.” “Mike is a fighter. The band played its first public concert in three months Saturday in Cincinnati, following a series of delays and cancellations after 85-year-old Love said he needed to “recharge” amid the Beach Boys reunion tour. Stamos, who has performed as a guest with the group since the Eighties, addressed the crowd before the show and told them that Love “has been going through some health issues,” but he insisted on doing the show. Stamos then walked Love onto the stage, where he sat and remained for the rest of the performance. When I think of British seaside resorts, I think of buckets and spades, striped parasols, beach huts and sticks of rock. My mind immediately goes to the often tacky towns made popular by the Victorians, like Weymouth or Blackpool. I had assumed that, being the first purpose-built seaside resort in Britain, Thorpeness would have a similarly kitsch vibe. But what I found was anything but – and it was all the better for it.  Thorpeness is set on the Suffolk coast, sandwiched between bougie Aldeburgh with its Maggi Hambling Scallop sculpture, and Sizewell, home of the gargantuan, synonymous nuclear power station. At first glance, Thorpeness is a pretty little village with large Tudor timber-framed houses, an old windmill and a boating lake.  Tiny, dusty lanes lined with ramshackle, wooden bungalows thread between the bigger homes, and two large water towers – one in brick and the other clad in black boarding like the fishing huts all along the coast – loom large over the village. A group of tourists looking for a photo opportunity ended up stranded on a secluded beach in Tillamook, Oregon, after the tide blocked their way out, officials said Monday. Volunteer firefighters and rescue teams responded to a 911 call about three people stranded on Lost Boy Beach on Wednesday afternoon, according to Netarts-Oceanside Fire District Chief Jeff McBrayer. Officials were concerned that the the tourists would be at risk for hypothermia due to the winds and temperature. “Typically, we would wait until low tide, but that would have been late at night,” McBrayer told NBC News. “Our water rescue team used a rope system to access the victims, placed them in life vests and assisted them through the surf to safety.” Volunteer firefighters and rescue teams responded to a 911 call about three people stranded on Lost Boy Beach Wednesday afternoon, according to Netarts-Oceanside Fire District Chief Jeff McBrayer.Netarts-Oceanside Fire District McBrayer did not identify the individuals but described them as “two males, one female” in their 20s. Three sisters from London who died at Brighton Beach had visited the lake where their mother drowned just two days before the tragedy, it has been revealed. Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, from Uxbridge, were pulled from the sea off the busy seaside town on May 13. They were all pronounced dead at the scene in what police described as a “tragic incident”. The circumstances of their deaths still remains unclear. But an investigation by The Sunday Times discovered that in the 48 hours before the bodies of the sisters were found, the trio made a visit to the lake where their mother Janice Adetoro died 16 years earlier and had visited her grave. Cousin Natalie Walters-Daniel, 33, believes there was a “deeper meaning” to the sisters’ visit, when they did not seek out other family members who live nearby. Ahead of an inquest into their deaths set to take place next month, Ms Walters-Daniel said her cousins never got over the death of their mother. She told the Sunday …
