It’s been 10 years since Beyoncé attended the Met Gala. On Monday, May 4, she will make her triumphant return as a cochair of the Met Gala 2026, alongside Venus Williams, Nicole Kidman, and Anna Wintour. Since making her debut at the annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in 2008, Bey has been a highlight of the event’s best-dressed lists. At 26 years old, the singer first walked the carpet in a strapless powder pink Armani Privé gown, just a month after marrying Jay-Z in a secret ceremony. Since that debut, however, the artist has gotten bolder with her looks. There was 2011’s Emilio Pucci mermaid dress that was so tight she needed assistance making her way up the museum’s storied stairs, and there was 2015’s barely there Givenchy gown, sheer but for clusters of strategically placed crystals.
