Madonna’s striking transformation throughout the years: From iconic bustier to bold black hair

Madonna’s striking transformation throughout the years: From iconic bustier to bold black hair

As the ultimate Material Girl, Madonna’s status as an undisputed sartorial icon has remained unchallenged for decades. Yet her reign has been marked by constant reinvention – evolving from pop provocateur to the ultimate femme fatale muse for Jean Paul Gaultier. Her influence has shaped both pop culture and the fashion sphere for over 40 years, ever since she burst onto the scene in the early 1980s. From the iconic white lace bridal look in Like a Virgin to the 70s-inspired disco glamour of Confessions on a Dance Floor, her style moments are instantly recognizable. She has also left a lasting imprint on designers like Dolce & Gabbana – just think of her signature crucifixes, layered necklaces, and black lace. And in 2026, the singer proves she’s still maintaining her iconic status. On April 15, Madonna announced that her next album will serve as a sequel to her 2005 record Confessions on a Dance Floor, with a release date set for July 3. © Getty ImagesMadonna wearing outfit designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier She also offered fans …

ACID Lineup of Bold Films Has Two From Iran-Born Directors

ACID, the Cannes Film Festival sidebar run by France’s association of film directors whose goal is promoting the theatrical distribution of independent films, unveiled its 2026 lineup on Tuesday, with general delegate Pauline Ginot promising a selection of nine “adventurous” and “bold” films from emerging voices from such countries as Iran, Switzerland and, of course, France. Launched in 1992, ACID has made a reputation for itself for discovering up-and-coming directing talents. Among others, it brought to Cannes the first features of such auteurs as Anatomy of a Fall director Justine Triet, who premiered Age of Panic there, Radu Jude, who unveiled The Happiest Girl in the World in the program in 2009, and Kaouther Ben Hania (The Voice of Hind Rajab), who screened her feature debut, The Blade of Tunis, at ACID in 2014. ACID has previously also championed early works by the likes of Guy Maddin, including My Winnipeg. More than 600 films were submitted this year for one of the coveted nine spots in the ACID program, Ginot tells THR. “We watched all of …

But it was his grey slogan tee that caught everyone’s attention, emblazoned with the words: “I LOVE MY WIFE.” In a world where celebrity relationships are often scrutinized and dissected, Jack’s understated yet powerful message felt refreshingly sincere. © GC Images Jack Osbourne is seen on March 29, 2026 in Studio City, California The son of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne has long been open about the importance of family in his life, and this latest outing only reinforced that sentiment.  Known for his down-to-earth approach despite growing up in the spotlight, Jack appeared relaxed and content as he went about his day, his bold wardrobe choice speaking volumes without him saying a word. © GC ImagesJack makes emotional …

Karan Mahajan’s ‘The Complex’: A bold return to 1980s and ’90s India

Karan Mahajan was 6 years old when he saw a family friend lie down in front of a bus during a protest against India’s Mandal Commission affirmative action movement. While Mahajan did not “actually participate” in the protest, he “had a vague sense of what it felt like” for those who did. This memory (and several flesh-and-blood research trips to India throughout his 30s) inflamed Mahajan’s decade-anticipated third novel “The Complex.” The work unfolds amid the backdrop of 1980s India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Hindu nationalism movement and 1990s anti-Mandal Commission protests against India’s caste-based career selection system. “The book itself was written in solitude and edited in silence because I was trying to mentally travel back in time to 1980s and 1990s India,” Mahajan says. “I didn’t want my vision for the novel to be occluded by anything.” A fictional backstory of …
