Violet Grohl isn’t afraid of or bothered by the ‘nepo baby’ label

Violet Grohl isn’t worried about being labelled a nepo baby. The 19-year-old musician is the daughter of Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, but Violet Grohl isn’t bothered by suggestions that she’s achieving success on the back of her dad’s fame. In a new interview with music magazine The Forty-Five, Violet Grohl shared: “Obviously, doors are open for me because of my last name. It’s not something I’m ever going to hide behind or say, ‘No, I worked so hard for this! You guys shouldn’t say that! That hurts my feelings’. I don’t care – I really don’t.” Violet Grohl has faced the accusations for years, and she doesn’t allow it to bother her. She said: “I’ve heard that since I was 13 years old. So call me a nepo baby all you want. It’s ‘whatever’ to me. I just hope that eventually people will give me a shot.” Violet Grohl also appreciates the privileges she enjoys in her life. She shared: “I’m beyond grateful for the life that I was born into. “It’s such …

The former heptathlete, who won gold at the London 2012 Olympics, admits that even at the height of her glittering athletic career there were times when she just didn’t feel like putting her trainers on. “There were so many times when I just thought ‘Gosh, I’m so tired, I can’t be bothered to go training, I can’t be bothered to run around the track and do an 800m session in the rain’,” recalls Ennis-Hill, 40. “Motivation definitely went up and down. I think every athlete will say that – there’s no one person that’s motivated all the time, every day. That is not achievable.” Indeed, new research from Vitality has found that 42% of runners have …

Why Miguel Rojas was bothered by erroneous suspension report

Why Miguel Rojas was bothered by erroneous suspension report

PHOENIX — Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas addressed an erroneous report from earlier in the week with understanding while also making his feelings clear. On Monday, a senior baseball writer at the Athletic misidentified Rojas as the recipient of an 80-game suspension for the use of a banned substance on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. It was in fact Phillies outfielder Johan Rojas who had tested positive for Boldenone. The writer, Evan Drellich, quickly deleted the post and corrected it. “I’m not frustrated because of the report, because we are all humans and we make mistakes,” Rojas said Wednesday morning in front of his locker at Camelback Ranch. “I was expecting a little bit more of an apology, not just to me, but the organization. Because it wasn’t just my name, it was pretty clear that it says, ‘Miguel Rojas from the Los Angeles Dodgers.’ And I don’t think anybody in this organization should be kind of freaking out and jumping out of their seats for the six or seven minutes that it happened.” …

Merging behaviour and attendance ‘bothered’ me

Merging behaviour and attendance ‘bothered’ me

More from this theme Recent articles Ofsted boss Sir Martyn Oliver has admitted merging the behaviour and attendance judgment areas in the watchdog’s new inspections “did bother” him “tremendously”. At BETT UK in London today, an audience member asked Oliver about the joint “attendance behaviour” judgment, warning it was particularly difficult for schools in “highly deprived” areas where attendance might be lower. Responding, Oliver stressed his “original intent” was to have behaviour and attendance as separate areas. Ofsted’s initial plans, proposed distinct judgment areas for “attendance” and “behaviour and attitudes”. But Oliver said that during Ofsted’s consultation “many people, many organisations” said “very clearly there were too many areas [and they’d] want to see a number of them combined”. “And the areas that they talked about combining were curriculum and teaching, and attendance and behaviour.” ‘I did tell you so’ Under the final framework judgments were condensed, reducing the overall minimum number of judgment areas for schools from eight to six. “I have to say, it did bother me tremendously,” said Oliver. “At the start…my …

‘Heated Rivalry’ Is Getting Conservatives Hot and Bothered: “Watching Gay Porn Is the New SJW Fetish”

Late last year, as Heated Rivalry became the breakout TV hit of the season, the steamy series about closeted gay hockey players managed to escape the glare of conservatives who usually love to decry sex in culture. That is, until conservative YouTuber Brett Cooper decided to watch the series on the recommendation of her “gay best friend”—and she was shocked at what she saw. The title of the show she released about it on Saturday says it all: “Watching Gay P*rn Is the New SJW Fetish.” “I turned it on and I was like, ‘My eyes, Amir, my eyes! I can’t deal with this,’” said Cooper. For her, though, the real issue wasn’t seeing graphic gay sex—it was the supposed hypocrisy of women who enjoy Heated Rivalry. “Liberal women have built their entire modern identity and their political identity around hating men,” Cooper claimed. “At the end of the day, biology still wins. They are still attracted to these men.” So far, other major conservative influencers have been curiously silent on the Heated Rivalry phenomenon. …
