A handful of OpenAI executives are transitioning into new roles, according to a report from Bloomberg. An OpenAI spokesperson confirmed the personnel changes to TechCrunch. CEO of AGI development Fidji Simo announced in a memo that Brad Lightcap, OpenAI’s COO, has a new job leading “special projects,” which will involve “complex deals and investments across the company.” He will report directly to CEO Sam Altman. Denise Dresser, the former Slack CEO who recently joined OpenAI as Chief Revenue Officer, will take over some of Lightcap’s COO duties in the interim. The 24 year-old assistant director, who was previously known as Maddox Jolie-Pitt, is credited simply as Maddox Jolie for the drama about a film director who is diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before shooting a video at a Paris fashion show. As recently as 2024, when Maddox worked as a production assistant on Netflix’s Maria Callas biopic Maria, he was credited as Maddox Jolie-Pitt. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are trading blows in a viral AI-generated clip on social media, sparking backlash from the film industry. Chinese company ByteDance’s new video generation model, Seedance 2.0, allowed people to create fictional videos of real likenesses with short prompts. Irish filmmaker Ruairi Robinson used two lines to generate the clip of Pitt and Cruise fighting. If ByteDance sounds familiar to you, it’s because the company also owns TikTok internationally, though it recently sold its US ownership of the social media and video-sharing platform to US companies. Oracle, MGX and Silver Lake each hold a 15% stake.  The actors in this latest viral AI slop video still don’t look like perfect re-creations — close-up shots of the fake Brad Pitt’s face, especially, have an “uncanny valley,” dreamlike AI look where the cuts blend into his flesh a little too smoothly. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Brad Arnold, the lead singer of the Grammy-nominated rock band 3 Doors Down, died Saturday, months after he announced that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer. He was 47. The band said in a statement that Arnold “passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer.” 3 Doors Down formed in Mississippi in 1995 and four years later received a Grammy nomination for the breakout hit “Kryptonite.” Arnold wrote the song in math class when he was 15 years old, according to the band statement. Their debut album, “The Better Life,” sold over 6 million copies. NEW YORK, Feb 7 (Reuters) – ‌Brad ​Arnold, a founder and ‌lead singer of American rock band 3 Doors ​Down, died on Saturday, nine months after disclosing that he had kidney ‍cancer, the group said. He ​was 47.  Arnold said in a May 2025 social media ​video that ⁠he had been diagnosed with advanced-stage clear cell renal carcinoma that had spread to one of his lungs. 3 Doors Down canceled their planned 2025 summer tour because of his illness.  3 Doors Down, ‌formed in 1996 in Escatawpa, Mississippi, rose to popularity in 2000 ​with ‌the Arnold-penned single “Kryptonite,” which ‍peaked at ⁠No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
