Bryson Tiller Bolts Kansas for Rival Missouri After a Breakout Freshman Season

Bryson Tiller Bolts Kansas for Rival Missouri After a Breakout Freshman Season

Bryson Tiller is leaving Kansas for bitter rival Missouri after a promising and productive freshman season with the Jayhawks. The 6-foot-11 forward arrived in Lawrence before the spring semester in 2025 and redshirted before playing last season, when Tiller was a regular in the starting lineup. He averaged 7.9 points and 6.1 rebounds, and one of his best games for Kansas came against the Tigers, when he had 13 points, five rebounds and five blocks in an 80-60 rout at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Missouri has been active in the transfer portal, landing Tennessee forward Jaylen Carey and Providence forward Jamier Jones. Tiller visited the Tigers on Sunday and made the decision to join coach Dennis Gates over interest from Michigan, Georgia Tech, NC State, Arizona and others. He visited Miami but canceled a planned visit to Arizona. Kansas already lost another big man, Flory Bidunga, who decided to transfer to Louisville. Copyright 2026 The Associated Press. How Koa Peat and Brayden Burries Became the Breakout Freshmen Duo of the NCAA Tournament

How Koa Peat and Brayden Burries Became the Breakout Freshmen Duo of the NCAA Tournament

The Arizona duo will join a bunch of other electric one-and-doners to make up the most exciting set of prospects in over 20 years. Headlined by BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, Kansas’s Darryn Peterson, and Duke’s Cameron Boozer, many basketball observers are comparing the 2026 draft class—which could see as many as 20 freshmen selected—to the iconic classes of 1984 (Hakeem, MJ, Barkley, Stockton), 1996 (Iverson, Ray Allen, Kobe, Nash), and 2003 (LeBron, Melo, Bosh, D-Wade). Those drafts were loaded with transformational talents, but never has the NBA seen so many polished 18, 19, and 20-year-olds projected to enter the league in the same year. Most mock drafts predict Burries to be a late lottery selection while Peat is likely to be chosen in the top 20. But before they peace-out of school and devote their attention to the pros, the fabulous freshmen are looking to ace college basketball’s final exam. The duo were a big reason why (aside from their first half against Purdue) Arizona has cruised through the NCAA Tournament. The Cats have won their …

‘A broken heart can turn somebody into a bad Casanova’: breakout R&B star Leon Thomas on defiance, D’Angelo and his ‘doggie’ persona | Music

‘A broken heart can turn somebody into a bad Casanova’: breakout R&B star Leon Thomas on defiance, D’Angelo and his ‘doggie’ persona | Music

Forget viral hits or sold-out shows: you know you’ve reached the big time when the godfather of funk gives you custom-made headgear. Last spring, Leon Thomas was backstage at California’s Coachella festival and due to join Ty Dolla $ign, his label boss, for a performance alongside George Clinton. The cosmic crusader said to Thomas: “‘You’re the kid who does the dog song, right? I made something for you,’” Thomas recalls. “He gave me this cool white hat with a foxtail on it.” Thomas wore it to play Mutt, his 2024 breakthrough single, followed by a rendition of Clinton’s 1982 P-funk anthem Atomic Dog. But not before Clinton hot-boxed the trailer. “I don’t really smoke weed any more, but I was in the dressing room with him and Ty,” says Thomas, 32. “They both were smoking so much – when I was on stage, I realised, ‘Ohhh, I’m a little buzzed right now!’” A spiritual baton had been passed. “We went up there and rocked the crowd,” Thomas continues. “It was like 12, 13,000 [people] out …

See the Climactic Ending of Steven Spielberg’s Breakout Duel Recreated Entirely with 3D-Printed Models

See the Climactic Ending of Steven Spielberg’s Breakout Duel Recreated Entirely with 3D-Printed Models

With his last picture The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg told a story of his own. Given his long-held stature as more or less the personification of big-screen Hollywood entertainment, there’s only one such story he could have told: that of how he became a filmmaker. The most memorable of The Fabelmans depicts the young directorial surrogate alone in the basement of his family home, re-creating the train crash scene from The Greatest Show on Earth with an eight-millimeter camera and a Lionel set. Today, on the brink of his ninth decade with his famous productivity hardly slowing, Spielberg remains, on some level, the wide-eyed boy smashing his toys together at just the right angle. What better way to pay him tribute than to replicate his cinematic achievements in miniature? The Fabelmans ends with its protagonist a college student, eager to drop out and go straight to Hollywood. At the same point in life, the real Spielberg was about to receive an offer from Universal Pictures to write and direct the short film that became Amblin’, which itself led to a …

Zoomlion looks set for breakout 2026 with .2B in deliveries

Zoomlion looks set for breakout 2026 with $1.2B in deliveries

Chinese manufacturing and equipment firm Zoomlion looks set for a breakout year – the company has shipped some 15,000 units with a combined value of approximately 8.5 billion yuan (~1.2B), and we’re barely into March (!). Launched in 1992, the Chinese brand’s broad-ranging portfolio has grown to include everything from humanoid factory robots on up to the world’s largest-capacity 4,000 ton all-terrain crane (shown, above). But, while Zoomlion has already established itself a major player in its home market, it’s still relatively unknown in the West. With a significant portion of its 2026 equipment sales bound for 23 countries, however, that seems set to change. The list of export markets about to receive Zoomlion machines includes Germany, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the earthmoving and mining segment, Zoomlion’s integrated fleet solution (featuring high-performance hundred-ton-class mining excavators paired with battery-electric mining trucks) was a key component of the overall delivery volume. Over 3,700 units of earthmoving and mining machinery, valued at around 2.3 billion yuan (approx. US$335 million), were shipped from the Zoomlion Smart Industrial …

UK households urged to stockpile 9 key foods for WW3 breakout | UK | News

Shoppers worried about WW3 should turn to 9 key foods (Image: Getty) With US strikes on Iran and the death of the Ayotollah this weekend, alongside Vladimir Putin’s lakeys making yet more nuclear threats to UK, it’s fair to say tensions are continuing to ramp up. It’s the worst case scenario which absolutely nobody wants to think about. But with everything that’s going on in the world right now, there are some fears that World War Three could genuinely be closer than we want to admit and the UK government does advise that households should be prepared, not just for the event of war but for other national emergencies too. Earlier this year, the Doomsday Clock was moved to just 89 seconds to midnight, the closest it has ever been. The clock has, since just after the end of World War Two, been used to symbolise how close science believes the world is to annihilation, whether environmental, viral or indeed, nuclear. When Russia invaded Ukraine, it triggered a cost of living crisis that saw food …

Jess Cartner-Morley on fashion: the quarter-zip is the breakout star of 2026 – and I think I know why | Fashion

Jess Cartner-Morley on fashion: the quarter-zip is the breakout star of 2026 – and I think I know why | Fashion

My favourite kind of fashion moment is not a Met Gala headline-maker or a Paris catwalk extravaganza. Nope. My favourite fashion moment is when one piece of clothing is suddenly everywhere for no obvious reason, which is what is happening right now with the quarter-zip sweater. The Guardian’s journalism is independent. We will earn a commission if you buy something through an affiliate link. Learn more. The jumper with a chin-to-breastbone zip, which has been around for ever, is the breakout main character of the 2026 wardrobe. At a Chanel catwalk show held in New York recently, a quarter-zip knit was the star of the show, worn with a fancy cocktail-hour skirt and diamond drop earrings. Charli xcx teamed a Saint Laurent one with sunglasses and shorts on her last trip to Paris fashion week. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wears stealth-wealth dark merino ones in the dugout, rapper Central Cee wears a cream Ralph Lauren one on TikTok – and the man opposite you on the train right now, taking a Zoom call on his AirPods …

Teyana Taylor Has Arrived: The Veteran Star on Her Breakout Year

Teyana Taylor Has Arrived: The Veteran Star on Her Breakout Year

Last year, that business also meant a return to music. In August 2025, Taylor released Escape Room, which earned her her first Grammy nomination, for best R&B album. Between interludes from a slew of famous friends—including Henson, Nash Betts, Issa Rae, and Jodie Turner-Smith— Taylor works through heartbreak in the wake from her divorce from former NBA player Iman Shumpert, to whom she was married from 2016 until 2023. When we spoke in October, Taylor admitted that their relationship still influences how she thinks about future romantic partnerships. “Divorce, to me, is you’re grieving the death of a living being,” she says. “I think once children are involved, you understand the importance of really still having to show up for each other. At least for the next 18 years, and being the best co-parents that we can be.” But she maintains that she doesn’t “want people to start feeling scared of marriage, because marriage is a beautiful thing.” For “Escape Room,” she also released a “visual album” — a short film starring Lakeith Stanfield and …
