Stranger Things Broadway’s Louis McCartney on Leaving, Campbell Bower Cameo

Stranger Things Broadway’s Louis McCartney on Leaving, Campbell Bower Cameo

Next month, Louis McCartney’s time in the Stranger Things universe is up — at least at the Marquis Theatre. Who knows what the future holds, but for now, it’s understandably a bittersweet goodbye. The Irish-born actor originated the Stranger Things stage version of Henry Creel in the West End in late 2023. When Stranger Things: The First Shadow transferred to Broadway in 2025, he reprised the role, with previews beginning March 28 and opening night on April 22. In that time, the show achieved both critical and commercial success, breaking box-office records. McCartney received a Tony nomination for best lead actor in a play, and the highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things was released on Netflix. Written by Kate Trefry, with Stranger Things co-creators the Duffer Brothers on board as creative producers, The First Shadow is a prequel to the events of the horror series. It tells the story of how series villain Vecna came to be — and how he was once Henry. In the show, Jamie Campbell Bower plays Henry/Vecna and, for …

Leiomy, Ken Ard, Bryson Battle Join Broadway’s Cats: The Jellicle Ball

Original Broadway Cats cast member Ken Ard, Legendary’s Leoimy and Saturday Church’s Bryson Battle are joining the cast of Broadway’s Cats: The Jellicle Ball.  Leoimy, a dancer known as the “Wonder Woman of Vogue” and a judge on HBO’s voguing reality competition Legendary, will make her Broadway debut as Macavity in the reimagined revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical. Ard, who played Macavity in the 1982 Broadway production of Cats, will return to the stage after 25 years to take on the newly created role of DJ Griddlebone. Battle, a finalist on season 28 of The Voice who recently starred as Ulysees in Saturday Church at New York Theatre Workshop, will make his Broadway debut in the role of Jellylorum.  The revival, which sets Cats in the underground ballroom world, with each performer competing to win a vogue dancing competition, moves to Broadway after an acclaimed run at New York’s Perelman Performing Arts Center last season.  The musical is set to play Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre starting March 18, 2026, ahead of an April 7 opening …

The 29-year-old performer and influencer, who is a transgender woman, announced earlier this month that she’ll be making her Broadway debut in Six, which reimagines the six wives of King Henry VII as a girl group performing at a concert. Mulvaney will be playing Anne Boleyn, Henry VII’s second wife. Mulvaney previously appeared in the national tour of The Book of Mormon. Shortly after her casting was announced, the Broadway show was hit with immense backlash online, with critics on X claiming that she wasn’t the right choice for a historical female role because of her identity. Meanwhile, other people accused these critics of being transphobic. Now, the producers of Six have responded to the backlash by limiting the public’s access to the show’s …
