Apple Watch Ultra 4 Touch ID Rumor: Side Button or Crown?

Apple Watch Ultra 4 Touch ID Rumor: Side Button or Crown?

The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is set to bring a new level of innovation to wearable technology with a focus on functionality, efficiency, and user experience. While the external design is expected to remain consistent with its predecessor, the internal upgrades promise to deliver a more refined and powerful device. With a likely launch in September, Apple appears to be prioritizing meaningful enhancements over superficial changes, making sure the Ultra 4 meets the evolving needs of its users. Enhanced Sensors for Greater Accuracy One of the most significant upgrades in the Apple Watch Ultra 4 lies in its revamped sensor system, which is expected to double the number of sensors compared to the previous model. This improvement will enable more precise and faster health tracking, shifting the focus from algorithm-heavy data interpretation to direct physical measurements. As a result, metrics such as heart rate, oxygen saturation, and sleep tracking are likely to become more reliable and accurate. The new sensor array is also designed to be more energy-efficient, consuming less power while delivering better performance. …

iOS 27 Siri Overhaul: Standalone App, New Design, Dynamic Island Integration and Ask Siri Button

iOS 27 Siri Overhaul: Standalone App, New Design, Dynamic Island Integration and Ask Siri Button

Apple is testing a standalone Siri chatbot app for iOS 27, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Apple plans to debut a chatbot version of ‌Siri‌ that will compete with Claude and ChatGPT, and the new ‌Siri‌ could be accessible through a dedicated app. Gurman previously said that Apple was not going to develop a standalone ‌Siri‌ app, but it appears plans have changed. It was not clear how the rumored chatbot version of ‌Siri‌ was going to work without an app, because people often have multiple back-and-forth text-based conversations with chatbots, and not having a dedicated space would have been confusing. Like ChatGPT and Claude, ‌Siri‌ will support both text and voice-based conversations. The app will display either a list or grid of past conversations, with options to favorite chats, search through chats, initiate new chats, and save chats. Conversations with ‌Siri‌ will resemble iMessage conversations, with Apple using chat bubbles. New conversations will start with suggested prompts on what to ask. ‌Siri‌ will be able to do much of what current chatbots can do, such …

Android Auto’s Secret Superpower Is a Customizable Shortcut Button

Android Auto’s Secret Superpower Is a Customizable Shortcut Button

Even if connecting your Android phone to your car’s dashboard via Android Auto is a daily ritual for you, you may not have explored much beyond the default settings for the interface. You probably just want to get where you’re going, rather than dive through menus and options screens to tweak the Android Auto experience. However, it’s worth familiarizing yourself with a few key Android Auto tweaks that can make your time behind the wheel easier. One of these is the option to add Assistant shortcuts to the Android Auto app screen, so anything you can tell Google Assistant to do, you can put behind a button on your dashboard. We’re currently in the midst of Google moving all of its apps and devices over to Gemini from Google Assistant, but for now the Assistant shortcut option remains in Android Auto—and presumably when the Gemini switch is finally complete, the new voice-controlled AI chatbot will take over the same role on Android Auto. The possibilities for what these shortcuts can do are many and varied. …

Pulling Espresso by Hand Is More Fun Than Pushing a Button

Pulling Espresso by Hand Is More Fun Than Pushing a Button

Coffee is the original biohack and the nation’s most popular productivity tool. As we adjust to the changeover to daylight saving time, the caffeine-addicted WIRED Reviews team is writing about our favorite coffee brewing routines and devices. Today, contributor Brad Bourque pays homage to his manual espresso maker. Look out for other Java.Base stories about other WIRED writers’ favorite brewing methods. For me, coffee is as much a nerdy obsession as it is a practical necessity. I dislike maintenance, and I prefer simplicity, but I also need my coffee to be bold and interesting. For years, I used a kettle and Aeropress, which were easy to keep clean and tucked away in a crowded cabinet. My roommates at the time really appreciated that. But when I got a place of my own, I wanted something more substantial, if also still dead simple. The Flair Signature, a manual espresso maker, seemed like an obvious choice. It still sits proudly on my counter in all its stainless steel glory, occupying a permanent spot by my sink. Where …

This is how we do it: ‘His cancer diagnosis hit the reset button – we’ve built up quite the collection of toys’ | Life and style

Will, 57 double quotation markI worried that intimacy would no longer be possible in the same way and questioned what that would mean for my sense of identity and our marriage When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few years ago, I was offered a range of treatments – hormone therapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. But the truth was that nothing would be as effective as surgery. After much consideration, I decided to have a prostatectomy, which would eradicate the cancer, but came with considerable risks, including nerve damage that might result in erectile dysfunction. During the lead-up to the procedure and the weeks of recovery that followed, I worried that intimacy would no longer be possible in the same way, and questioned what that would mean for both my sense of identity and our marriage. In fact, and to my complete surprise, it’s transformed our sex life in the best possible way. Lucy and I have been together for 30 years, and while the sex between us was always great, my libido was a lot higher. The …

Nothing Headphone (a) review: The superior option for design and button enthusiasts

ZDNET’s key takeaways Nothing’s new Headphone (a) are available now for $199. They offer a unique design, long battery, great sound, and intuitive button controls. Although they’re lighter than their predecessors, they still feel a little clunky after extended wear. Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. These days, good sound isn’t that hard to come by. So how do headphones differentiate themselves? If you’re the London-based Nothing, you’ll give your headphones great battery life, add some smart quality-of-life improvements, and a distinct visual style. I’m talking about Nothing’s Headphone (a), the brand’s latest over-ear pair. ‘I clicked on a button – and everything changed’: how a DNA test turned my life upside-down | Family

‘I clicked on a button – and everything changed’: how a DNA test turned my life upside-down | Family

Above my grandma’s bed hung a framed black‑and-white photograph of my dad. As a small child I quietly admired it; his luminous eyes, dark hair and gentle smile. He embodied a tender yet spirited early adulthood, staring into the future. Handsome and seeking. As I grew older, I would discover that it was not, in fact, a photograph of my dad but of a man called Elvis Presley. Apparently he was very famous. My grandma had been a lifelong fan. My parents laughed – an adorable mistake – but I felt a hot pulse of humiliation. Ten years later, over a family breakfast, it was mentioned in passing that the same grandmother was not blood-related to us. We shared her surname but not her genes. I was sipping orange juice when a swell of disorientation surged over me. It was another detail that the rest of the family apparently knew but had never told me; they thought “I already knew”. The biology mattered less to me than the secret. Dad had been adopted, it turned out. A …
