Waiting for the Out writer reveals chances of a second season
BBC drama Waiting for the Out adapts the memoir by Andy West, The Life Inside, which charts West’s experiences teaching philosophy to prisoners, while also grappling with his own family history, as three of the men closest to him had also spent time locked up. As with many book adaptations, there series covers a lot of the ground from the written text, although some fairly substantial changes have been made, with the lead character being called Dan rather than Andy, to further denote the differences between the two. However, just because much of the book has already been adapted, that doesn’t mean a season 2 wouldn’t be possible – something writer Dennis Kelly expanded on when speaking with RadioTimes.com and other press.
