Arteta keeps cards close to chest as injury-hit Arsenal eye FA Cup semis

Arteta keeps cards close to chest as injury-hit Arsenal eye FA Cup semis

April 3 : Arsenal will be without injured England attacker Noni Madueke when they face Southampton in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final, but Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber may return from injury, manager Mikel Arteta said. Madueke was among the 11 Arsenal players who withdrew from international duty last month over injuries and fitness management, as the club eye their first Premier League title since 2004. “When you have to communicate the state of every player, we are always honest and a medical decision had to be made. That was clear what the conclusion was,” Arteta told reporters on Friday. “It makes us so proud that we had that many players in the national team. Players are desperate to play for their nation. I know how important it is to them. We are fully supportive of that and when we can do it, we do it.” Madueke picked up a knee injury during England’s friendly with Uruguay, missing the game against Japan. But Arteta said his condition was not as bad as a knee injury that …

Chest Hair Is Sexy Again

Chest Hair Is Sexy Again

Before Paul Anthony Kelly debuted as John F. Kennedy Jr. in Love Story, photos of the former model filming a topless scene in Central Park surfaced online. The actor was the spitting image of the former president’s son down to his iconic hairy chest, and thirsty onlookers loved the au naturel look. One person commented on Kelly’s topless photo on X with just two words: “I’m sold.” Another with an all-caps plea: “PLSSS BRING BACK ACTORS WITH CHEST HAIR THIS FEELS LIKE A RENAISSANCE.” The reaction to Kelly’s follicly blessed chest is one of many recent data points indicating that it’s once again sexy to be hairy. Over the last few years, stylish men have traded their highly manicured appearances for something a little more lived-in. Weekly fade appointments have been replaced by low-maintenance boy bangs. Clean-shaven faces have grown mustaches of the skinny, bushy, or dirtbag varieties. Some brave men are even posting pubes on main. And now, thanks to a handful of notable happy-trail-blazers, chest hair is staging a comeback too. In ads, …

I swapped dumbbell chest presses for resistance band chest presses for two weeks and my shoulder pain instantly improved

I swapped dumbbell chest presses for resistance band chest presses for two weeks and my shoulder pain instantly improved

Returning to exercise after childbirth has been a challenge. I knew that improving my endurance would be tough, but I thought I might keep my strength levels up by continuing to train throughout pregnancy. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. A weaker upper body, plus some nagging shoulder pain, means my usual supine dumbbell chest presses have felt particularly hard. Article continues below You may like I decided to try using a resistance band to perform a standing press instead. It’s a method that I’ve previously had success with, swapping dumbbell rows for resistance band rows. Here’s what happened when I made the same switch with my chest presses for two weeks. How to do a resistance band chest press Sets: 1-3 Reps: 15 You’ll need: a moderately-heavy resistance band and a secure anchor point, like a stair railing, or a door if your resistance band comes with a door anchor attachment. Start your week with achievable workout ideas, health tips and wellbeing advice in your inbox. How to do it: Loop the band around the …

How to Get a Bigger Chest and Improve Your Posture While Doing It

How to Get a Bigger Chest and Improve Your Posture While Doing It

As anyone who’s ever set foot in a gym knows, bench pressing can be very fun. So much so that gym bros are known for prioritizing their chests over their other body parts. There’s a reason Kanye West once rapped “I hit the gym all chest, no legs”. Which isn’t to say that there aren’t benefits to beefing out your pecs. Having a strong chest can help round out your posture, prevent injury, and increase your strength in everyday tasks. One study even found not only does the bench press build your chest, but muscles like the triceps also grow, too. As long as it’s part of a well-rounded approach to fitness, there’s no reason not to hit your chest once a week. To help you figure out the best approach for this area of exercises, we tasked personal trainer Farren Morgan, founder of The Tactical Athlete training method, with breaking down how to get a bigger chest. What Muscles Are You Targeting? We’ve mentioned ‘pecs’, but what do we actually mean by that? “The muscles associated with …

A personal trainer says this one exercise can open up your chest, stretch your shoulders and strengthen your upper back

A personal trainer says this one exercise can open up your chest, stretch your shoulders and strengthen your upper back

Almost all of my personal training clients struggle with tight chest muscles and limited shoulder mobility. Work hours spent sitting at desks and free time spent on smartphones can exacerbate the problem, leading to potential pain and injury down the line. Wall slides, also known as wall angels, are a great exercise to combat these issues. It’s appropriate for most fitness levels, doesn’t require any equipment, and can be done anywhere you have a bare wall. Give them a try as a part of your upper-body workout, or even before you head out of the office for the night. How to do wall slides While this exercise is doable for most people, you should still check in with your medical team before trying anything new. If you’ve just started to work out regularly, consider meeting with a certified personal trainer to ensure you’re performing the movement correctly. You may like Stand about a foot away from a bare wall, facing away from it. Lean back onto the wall. Bend your knees slightly. Engage your core …

‘Two Mountains Weighing Down My Chest’ Film Trailer, Interview: Berlin

‘Two Mountains Weighing Down My Chest’ Film Trailer, Interview: Berlin

Two Mountains Weighing Down My Chest – the title of her feature directorial debut describes how Viv Li, a self-described Chinese artist wannabe, has been feeling ever since she got stuck in Berlin after the COVID pandemic and ventured into the German capital’s alternative culture scene. “A Chinese misfit ricochets between Berlin’s alternative frenzy and Beijing’s family order, transforming cultural whiplash into an offbeat search for identity and a playful quest for belonging,” reads a logline for the genre-bending movie that world premieres in the Berlin International Film Festival‘s Panorama Dokumente section on Feb. 13. Raised to follow traditional, “standard” family life, Li finds Berlin to seem to be bursting with excitement. But her family in China just can’t stop wondering why she is such an oddball. “Drifting between new environments and traditional expectations, Li is constantly adapting to shifting opinions about herself, the world, and, of course, China, only to feel more lost than ever,” highlights a synopsis of the film. In Two Mountains Weighing Down My Chest, we follow Li as she searches …

Goodbye, breast implants: why I went back to having a flat chest | Well actually

Goodbye, breast implants: why I went back to having a flat chest | Well actually

For 22 years, I ran around with small bags of saline water on my chest – a fact I shared with only a handful of close friends. I felt ashamed of having chosen artificial enhancement. I’m an outdoorsy mountain runner. At 56, I want to model aging naturally, but having breast implants ran counter to that. Now they are gone, thanks to explant surgery – implant removal without replacement. I decided to speak openly about going flat-chested so more women who face implant removal or mastectomy might consider staying flat. Like other women I spoke with who later had their breast implants removed, I originally got mine to fit a nearly impossible beauty standard: a thin body with round, fuller breasts. My little A-cups had risen to the occasion to nurse my two babies from 1998 through 2002. They literally vanished after weaning, as if my body absorbed every cell of breast tissue. I became flatter than my husband. My fit physique developed a masculine chest that made me view my body as tough and …

Crypto PAC Fairshake touts war chest as bill vote looms

Crypto PAC Fairshake touts war chest as bill vote looms

The crypto political action committee Fairshake amassed $193 million by the end of last year, positioning itself to play a major role in congressional midterms as lawmakers negotiate a major cryptocurrency bill set to get its first vote this week. — The total, shared with CNBC by Fairshake ahead of the Jan. 31 reporting deadline, includes funds raised for Fairshake, which gives to candidates of both parties, as well as its sister PACs — the Democrat-focused Protect Progress and Republican-focused Defend American Jobs. The new total reflects two major donations made in the second half of 2025. Blockchain company Ripple gave $25 million, and Andreessen Horowitz’s a16z gave $24 million. Coinbase, the group’s other major donor, gave $25 million in the first half of last year, just before the PAC announced it had $141 million on hand. “With the midterms approaching, we are united behind our mission with Fairshake continuing to oppose anti-crypto politicians and support pro-crypto leaders,” PAC spokesperson Josh Vlasto said. Aria Thorpe: Nine-year-old girl died from single stab wound to chest, inquest hears | UK News

A nine-year-old girl died from a single stab wound to her chest at home, an inquest has heard. Aria Thorpe was pronounced dead by paramedics at 6.58pm on 15 December at the property in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset. A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, appeared before Bristol Crown Court last month charged with her murder. Coroner’s officer Andrew Eastwood told Avon Coroners’ Court on Friday that Aria “died at her home address from a stab wound to her chest”. Image: Pic: Avon and Somerset Police Dr Peter Harrowing, the area coroner for Avon, directed that the full post-mortem report should be provided by 16 February. He listed Aria’s family and the alleged perpetrator as people interested in the case. “Because other proceedings are ongoing, I shall not list this matter for an inquest but list it for a review date on April 10,” Dr Harrowing said. The coroner said the review date was not for a court hearing. He said any further coronial proceedings would be “subject to the outcome of any …
