Cybercriminals Are Complaining About AI Slop Flooding Their Forums

Cybercriminals Are Complaining About AI Slop Flooding Their Forums

The complaint sounds familiar. “I’m disappointed that you are working to incorporate AI garbage into the site,” one annoyed person, posting anonymously, said in an online message. “No-one is asking for this—we want you to improve the site, stop charging for new features.” Only, this is not a regular internet user moaning about AI being forced into their favorite app. Instead, they are complaining about a cybercrime forum’s plans to introduce more generative AI. Like millions of others, scammers, grifters, and low-level hackers are getting annoyed about AI encroaching into their lives and the rise of low-quality AI slop being posted in their online communities. “People don’t like it,” says Ben Collier, a security researcher and senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. As part of a recent study into how low-level cybercriminals are using AI, Collier and fellow researchers spotted an increasing pushback over the use of generative AI in underground cybercrime forums and hacking groups. During the generative AI boom and hype cycles of the past couple of years, some people posting on …

American Traveler In Europe Calls Complaining About Gas Prices Is Close-Minded

American Traveler In Europe Calls Complaining About Gas Prices Is Close-Minded

Gas prices in the U.S. are a hot topic, especially given that the war in Iran has driven prices up exponentially. But it seems America isn’t the only place in the world that is suffering from astronomically high gas prices.  An American traveler named Christian Grossi, currently in Europe, shared that gas prices in other parts of the world might actually be a lot worse than in America. Grossi’s findings encouraged Americans to think twice before complaining and maybe even feel a bit grateful that they aren’t paying a much higher cost, like their European counterparts. An American traveler said complaining about gas prices in the U.S. is ‘close-minded’ after revealing what it costs in Europe. “If you think gas prices are expensive in the United States of America, you are wrong. Look at how much money they pay for gas here in Serbia. Mind you, the average salary in this country is $1,000 per month,” Grossi began in a video. While filming at a gas station in Serbia, Grossi showed that 95, which is …

Here’s The Difference Between Venting And Complaining

Here’s The Difference Between Venting And Complaining

When your partner frustrates you or your mum is on your last nerve, it’s natural to call a friend or talk about your feelings at the next wine night. But not all emotional unloading is created equal. “Although they seem similar on the surface, venting and complaining are actually distinct phenomena that lead to different outcomes for your mental health,” Natalie Moore, a licensed marriage and family therapist, told HuffPost. So what exactly is the difference? And when does talking to friends about your feelings about a person or situation go from a healthy outlet to an unproductive cycle of negativity? Below, Moore and other relationship experts break it down. What is venting? “I think of venting as letting off steam about the annoying habits or behaviours that are inevitable in a relationship,” said Tracy Ross, a licensed clinical social worker specialising in couples and family therapy. “And more often than not it’s helpful to have a friend who listens, validates and just understands why you feel the way you do – without judgment.” Having …

Therapy: It’s Not About Complaining, But Changing

Therapy: It’s Not About Complaining, But Changing

Sam and Cate are having their first session in couples therapy. “Are you in individual therapy?” the therapist asks. “Yes,” both say. “Just getting started, or have you been in it for a while?” “Years.” “And what are you working on in your therapies?” “Oh, you know, managing everyday stress, things that come up during the week.” I’ve met other couples like Sam and Cate who have been in therapy for years, using it to relieve stress and better manage their daily lives. Do you think they find it helpful? Absolutely. They always feel better when they walk out than when they came in. But honestly, I wince when I hear this for a couple of reasons. One possible ethical concern is dependency. All therapy fields warn practitioners in their codes of ethics to be careful about fostering dependency—cultivating a positive relationship, but without making real progress. You attend therapy on Tuesday at 2 p.m. because you have therapy on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Now, Sam and Cate might say they are doing better with …

Paul Souter, now aged 43, had tried acupuncture and sports massages for the pain in his lower back that would regularly come and go, but a debilitating back spasm prompted him to get a scan to investigate this further. “I enjoy playing golf and football and have always been quite active, but there would just be days where I couldn’t do anything because my back was hurting so much,” Paul said. “I tried acupuncture and sport massages, but one day I had a back spasm and just couldn’t get off the floor. It was so bad that I booked in to get a scan to get it checked out.” Paul, who works as a …

President Trump Isn’t Going to the Super Bowl, But His Administration Is Still Complaining About It

President Trump Isn’t Going to the Super Bowl, But His Administration Is Still Complaining About It

In February 2025, nearly three weeks after his second inauguration, President Donald Trump traveled to New Orleans to watch the Super Bowl—making him the first ever sitting president to attend the big game. But when Super Bowl LX gets underway at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, the president won’t be in the audience. Trump told the New York Post that the night’s entertainment—recent Grammy winner Bad Bunny and vocal Trump opponents Green Day—helped sway his decision. “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,” Trump said. But ultimately, he credited distance as the real reason he chose not to attend: “I would go if, you know, it [the trip] was a little bit shorter.” (Don’t worry: Trump thinks he would have gotten “great” handshakes if he did go to the Super Bowl again.) On Tuesday, press secretary Karoline Levitt doubled down on the White House’s anti–Bad Bunny stance in response to a question about the artist saying “ICE out” onstage at the Grammys on Sunday. She …

People With Actual Intelligence Never Waste Energy Complaining About These 11 Things

People With Actual Intelligence Never Waste Energy Complaining About These 11 Things

While gossip can occasionally be bonding for romantic couples, and complaining can be good for venting out stagnant emotions when we don’t feel heard, relying on these communication habits all the time can spark a negative spiral that’s contagious to everyone around us. It keeps us stuck in action if we lean on it for comfort too often, and often ensures that we linger on what’s “missing” or “wrong” in our lives instead of moving forward and focusing on growth. Whether it’s a bad boss at their job or a hard project they’re working on, people with actual intelligence never waste energy complaining about these things. They may occasionally vent out negative emotions and seek support, but their complaints never erupt without action. When they notice something is wrong or that they’re struggling in a certain area of their lives, their complaints are a redirection and a reminder to change, not necessarily a comforting ritual.
