Nicole Kidman reveals ‘crazy’ pre-award show ritual ahead of the Oscars

It’s a big night for Hollywood as anticipation mounts for the Oscars, with many stars undoubtedly carrying out their own pre-award show rituals to prepare for the big night. One such star is Nicole Kidman, who has revealed that her pre-Oscars ritual is a little more grounded than perhaps a facial or a massage. © GettyNicole is set to present an award Nicole Kidman’s pre-Oscars ritual “This is crazy but I will go to church in the morning,” she told Variety in an interview at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she was attending the star-studded Chanel and Charles Finch pre-Oscars dinner. “We’ll be squeezing it in… It just centers me. It’s what I do on a Sunday,” she admitted.  Nicole’s two youngest daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15, who she shares with her husband Keith Urban, joined their mum at the Chanel dinner, both donning white Chanel that matched Nicole’s shirt-and-skirt look. © WireImage Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, Faith Margaret Kidman-Urban and Nicole Kidman all wore Chanel While her girls attended the event, Nicole said …

Singularity Update: You Have No Idea How Crazy Humanoid Robots Have Gotten

Singularity Update: You Have No Idea How Crazy Humanoid Robots Have Gotten

Authored by Peter H. Diamandis via Metatrends, I just spent the afternoon at Figure headquarters in San Jose with Brett Adcock and David Blundin, and I’m still processing what I saw. We’re not talking about concept robots. We’re talking about fully autonomous humanoid robots running neural networks end-to-end, doing kitchen work, unloading dishwashers, organizing packages – for hours at a time, with no human intervention. Today? Figure’s robots are doing 67 consecutive hours of autonomous work. One error in 67 hours. That’s not a demo. That’s a product. And here’s what most people don’t understand: the gap between “doing one task really well” and “doing every task a human can do” is collapsing at exponential speeds. Let me explain why… NOTE: Brett has been a past Faculty Member at my Abundance Summit, where leaders like him share insights years before the mainstream catches on. In-person seats for the 2026 Summit next month are nearly sold out. Learn more and apply. The Death of C++ and the Rise of the Neural Net When I first visited …

Crazy concepts, wonderful laptops, and amazing smartphones

Crazy concepts, wonderful laptops, and amazing smartphones

I’m always super excited about MWC, the world’s largest mobile-focused tech event. Hosted in Barcelona, Spain, MWC attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year and is often where tech companies launch their newest smartphones, tablets, and more. MWC 2026 has delivered the goods, and these are the best bits of hardware we’ve seen while stalking its enormous halls. Lenovo ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept Building on previous designs, but much more powerful Lenovo has been toying with modular designs for a little while now, showing us laptops with an array of magnetic attachments at MWC 2025. It has now taken that idea to a whole new level with the ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept, which combines an ultra-thin 14-inch laptop with an integrated secondary display that can be mounted on the base device or placed alongside for a second screen to massively expand your screensize when you’re on the go. The total combined viewing area can expand up to 19 inches, a huge expansion on the base 14-inch screen. It has other modular elements, too, …

Rivian has a new performance division but for crazy off-road adventures

Rivian has a new performance division but for crazy off-road adventures

Rivian just announced a new division within the company focused on feats of performance, but with a uniquely Rivian twist, aiming for extreme off-road stunts instead of your standard circuit racing. There is a long tradition within the automotive industry of automakers having divisions dedicated to extracting maximum performance out of their vehicles. Fiat’s Abarth, Mercedes’ AMG, Nissan’s Nismo, and Ford’s RS, among many others. The electric startups, so far, have not had such a division. But that’s true no longer: Rivian has just officially launched a performance brand, but with in keeping with the Rivian ethos, it has an off-road twist. It’s called the Rivian Adventure Department, or RAD, and Rivian says it’s for “Exploring what our vehicles can do, and how much fun you can have.” Advertisement – scroll for more content While Rivian has only made this formal announcement of RAD as an official “skunkworks” division today, RAD isn’t really brand new. Rivian has already focused on sending its cars on various adventures over its lifetime, including before the R1T was even …

“These people are crazy”: Trump uses State of the Union to attack Democrats, SCOTUS

“These people are crazy”: Trump uses State of the Union to attack Democrats, SCOTUS

He might have closed the speech with message of unity ahead of America’s 250th anniversary, but Donald Trump used much of the runtime of his 2026 State of the Union address to attack his opponents. In a rambling speech that included cameos from the U.S. men’s hockey team, several military commendations and numerous shout-outs to conservative cause célèbre crime stories, Trump railed against his detractors in the Democratic Party and his allies at the Supreme Court. The president repeatedly squabbled with Democrats in attendance, saying they spread a “dirty rotten lie” about the cost of living in the United States and accusing them of “ripping children from their parents’ arms” while decrying trans-affirming care for minors. He spoke over heckles from Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib when he claimed that the country was being “pillaged” by Somali-Americans in Minnesota. He accused the Democrats of opposing voter ID laws because “the only way they can get elected is to cheat.” Trump also took a moment to attack Rep. Nancy Pelosi directly, after floating legislation that …

Russia’s Ukraine death toll just hit a ‘crazy’ new milestone | World | News

Fresh figures reveal the devastating toll of Russia’s four-year conflict in Ukraine (Image: Getty) Fresh figures reveal the devastating toll of Russia’s four-year conflict in Ukraine, with tens of thousands of Moscow’s troops perishing each month. Roughly one-fifth of Ukraine remains under Russian control, four years since Russia initiated a full-scale invasion in February 2022. Yet as the front lines have largely solidified, Russia’s territorial advances have slowed dramatically after capturing significant swathes of eastern and southern Ukraine during the conflict’s opening months—establishing a land bridge to Crimea, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014. According to assessments, since early 2023, it has only reclaimed approximately 1.3% of Ukrainian territory through military action. At the Munich Security Conference in February, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte declared that Russia has endured “crazy losses” in Ukraine, with around 65,000 troops killed or wounded over the previous two months. The Centre for Strategic and International Studies calculated that Russian forces have lost an average of more than 26,000 personnel monthly, encompassing those killed, wounded, and missing. A minimum of …

Despite Crazy Revisions, Consumer Confidence Rebounds From January’s Doom

Despite Crazy Revisions, Consumer Confidence Rebounds From January’s Doom

After Boomers and Gen X dragged The Conference Board Confidence measure down to eight month lows to end 2025, expectations were for a rebound to start 2026. Instead, January was a bloodbath with all the cohorts tumbling. Today sees February’s data released with expectations for a rebound, particularly in expectations… and the consensus was right. The headline Consumer Confidence print rose from 84.5 (revised dramatically up to 89.0) to 91.2 (better than the 87.1 expected) Under the hood it was kind of crazy with the dismal Present Situation print for January of 113.7 dramatically revised up to 121.8, which meant the 120.0 print for February was actually a decline MoM (but better than expected). The Expectations sub-index rose from a revised 67.2 to 72.0 (also better than expected). So, overall, confidence ticked up in February after falling in January, as consumers’ pessimistic expectations for the future eased somewhat. “Comments about prices, inflation, and the cost of goods remained at the top of consumers’ minds,” Dana Peterson, chief economist at the Conference Board, said in a statement. …

White House calls suspect shot dead after Mar-a-Lago break-in “crazy person’ | US | News

The White House has broken its silence after a man was shot dead after allegedly trying to break into Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home armed with a shotgun and a gas cannister. According to the Secret Service, the incident happened at 1.30am local time (6.30am GMT) at the Florida estate. The agency’s head of communications, Anthony Guglielmi, announced the news online: “On February 22, around 1.30am, a male in his early 20s was shot by US Secret Service agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) following an unauthorised entry into the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago. The individual, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced deceased. The individual was observed by the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago property carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can. “US Secret Service agents and a PBSO deputy confronted the individual and shots were fired by law enforcement during the encounter. No US Secret Service or PBSO personnel were injured. “There were no Secret Service protectees present at …

Laura Dern recalls ‘crazy’ fallout after Ellen DeGeneres’ historic coming out episode: ‘There were bomb threats’

Stay ahead of the curve with our weekly guide to the latest trends, fashion, relationships and more Stay ahead of the curve with our weekly guide to the latest trends, fashion, relationships and more Stay ahead of the curve with our weekly guide to the latest trends, fashion, relationships and more Laura Dern has reflected on the dangerous aftermath of appearing in Ellen DeGeneres’ landmark coming-out episode of her sitcom, Ellen. In April 1997, the Marriage Story actor played DeGeneres’s love interest for a revelatory, two-part episode, in which DeGeneres came out as gay, making her the first lead queer character in U.S. TV history. Speaking to Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers on their Las Culturistas podcast, Dern said it took “years” for the world to see the cultural impact of the TV moment, despite the cast expecting an immediate positive reaction from viewers. When the episodes aired, Dern said that the assumption was, “You’re going to do this thing and thank God people will wake up, love their relatives and their neighbors, see them, …

Bessent Says Iranian Leaders Wiring Money Out Of Country ‘Like Crazy’

Lest anyone still entertain the idea that Washington conducts military interventions abroad for the sake of “democracy” or because it “stands with the people” or for “human rights” – we bring you Thursday’s testimony of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent before the Senate Banking Committee… U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Iran: We created a dollar shortage in the country. It came to a swift conclusion. I would say the culmination came in December, when one of the largest banks in Iran went under after a bank run. The central bank had to print money.… pic.twitter.com/vjtGaMDyt0 — Clash Report (@clashreport) February 5, 2026 Bessent boasts, not for the first time, that it was actually crippling US sanctions which in large part fueled the January mass protests and riots which left thousands dead, also following intense clashes with police, and in some cases attacks on security services and the burning of buildings. This isn’t actually the first time the Treasury Secretary was this blunt and revealing about the aim of US sanctions and regime change. In March …
