Crockett says member of security team killed by police in Dallas

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Tuesday said a member of her security team was killed by law enforcement in Dallas. Authorities say the security official, known as Mike King, was actually Diamon Robinson, a 39-year-old wanted on “multiple felony warrants” on charges that ranged from impersonating a police officer to stolen license plates, according to… Source link

Primary Losers: Crockett Cries ‘Disenfranchisement’, Crenshaw Crushed

Rep. Jasmine Crockett has just lost her Democratic Senate primary in Texas to Democratic state lawmaker James Talarico, who will now try to become the first Democrat in nearly 40 years to win a Senate election in Texas. He will face the Republican winner between longtime incumbent Sen. John Cornyn and Texas AG Ken Paxton.  Crockett, a racist, who says that entering the USA illegally is ‘not a crime’ and is under FEC investigation for suspicious ActBlue donations, says she’s going to file a lawsuit challenging the results due to alleged confusion among some voters in Dallas County over where they were supposed to vote.  Speaking with supporters Tuesday night, she says that because of the confusion, “people have been disenfranchised,” and that the outcome of the race wouldn’t be known until Dallas County’s votes are counted.  As noted above, Cornyn and Paxton will advance to a runoff in the Texas Republican primary race, after neither candidate manged to receive 50% of the vote.  Crenshaw Loses Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, was unseated in Tuesday’s primary. Tom Williams / CQ-Roll …

Representative Jasmine Crockett Claimed I Wasn’t Kicked Out of Her Rally. Here’s the Audio.

Representative Jasmine Crockett Claimed I Wasn’t Kicked Out of Her Rally. Here’s the Audio.

I was not expecting Representative Jasmine Crockett’s team to call me a “top-notch hater”; kick me out of her rally in Lubbock, Texas; and march me to the side of a county road to wait for a ride. But I was much more surprised by what the congresswoman said later. A CBS reporter on Wednesday asked Crockett about a report that I had been ejected from her rally and that her campaign had called the Capitol Police on a CNN journalist, alleging that he had trespassed by attempting to visit a campaign office. “It’s silly season,” Crockett said. “There is a specific journalist who is, she has a history of being less than truthful, and frankly there’s no evidence of anything that she’s talking about.” The Democrat from Texas continued to riff: The journalist in question had been previously and successfully sued for defamation, she claimed. “It is sad that there is any news outlet that actually would have her on staff when,” Crockett said, “the one thing that matters most is truth.” I agree …

Lainey Wilson, Charley Crockett Will Play Showcases at SXSW

Lainey Wilson, Charley Crockett Will Play Showcases at SXSW

South by Southwest is getting some more country firepower among its showcasing artists this year, as Lainey Wilson and Charley Crockett are joining the festival’s lineup, The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal. Wilson and Crockett, who both have documentaries on SXSW‘s lineup this year as well, have been added to the music lineup alongside Los Lobos, Passion Pit and Money Mark. On the more upcoming artist front, Ink, the country-pop-hip-hop phenom songwriter whose credits include Kendrick Lamar’s “Luther” and Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” joins the bill along with Miss Bashful and Kairo Keyz. Wilson and Crockett’s SXSW shows come as country music has become one of the hottest genres in the United States. In an interview with THR, Brian Hobbs, VP of music at SXSW, called the bookings a sort of SXSW take on a genre it hasn’t always put its focus on, even as the festival has been housed in the heart of Texas. “The bigger story outside of just Lainey herself is that country music is really going to have a big presence …

Jasmine Crockett and the cost of authenticity

Jasmine Crockett and the cost of authenticity

Two years ago, Tina Fey appeared on “Las Culturistas,” one of my favorite podcasts, and delivered a line that immediately ricocheted across the internet and stuck with me personally: “Authenticity is dangerous and expensive.” Fey’s statement landed both with me and the wider world because it felt true. I was in the midst of a deep exploration about authenticity for my forthcoming book in which I draw a conclusion that her pithy remark sums up well: Authenticity — at least as it is currently understood and enforced — is not a liberating ideal for people of color. Instead it operates as a sorting mechanism that rewards those whose identities already align with power and penalizes those whose truth challenges it. Hosted by comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, “Las Culturistas,” works because it feels like a glimpse into a FaceTime call between two of your funniest and most joyfully self-aware friends. But as its popularity has grown, so has the risk that accompanies the type of candor the hosts offer. In a recent episode, Rogers …

Bowen Yang, Matt Rogers apologize for saying listeners shouldn’t donate to Crockett campaign

Bowen Yang, Matt Rogers apologize for saying listeners shouldn’t donate to Crockett campaign

In a series of social media posts over the weekend, comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers apologized for their comments on the Senate campaign of Rep. Jasmine Crockett. The hosts of the “Las Culturistas” podcast discouraged their listeners from donating to the Texas Democrat’s campaign in their most recent episode, which touched on Democratic politics and the 2028 presidential election. Crockett announced a bid to be the Democratic nominee in December. “Any time a politician is making it too obviously about themselves, I’m already done,” Rogers said. “And don’t waste your money sending to Jasmine Crockett. Do not do it.” Later in the episode, Rogers gave his reasoning. “She’s not going to win a Senate seat in Texas, you guys. If Beto O’Rourke couldn’t do it, Jasmine Crockett is not going to to do it,” he said. “It’s nothing against her… [She is] very well defined already.” “I’m interested in this Talarico guy from Texas. I haven’t seen him before. It would be hard for them to define him as anything other than what he …

Crockett: Trump, GOP not interested in doing anything to ‘make health care more affordable’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Friday said President Trump and Republican lawmakers have no interest in making “health care more affordable” as ObamaCare subsidies are set to expire, rising the monthly cost for millions. “But right now, as I go around, especially as I’ve been talking to my seniors, they are so very concerned because… Source link

Jasmine Crockett Shares List Of Republicans Who Took Money From Epstein – Only Problem – It Was A Different Epstein!

Authored by Debra Heine via American Greatness, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) has publicly beclowned herself for the second time in a week by falsely accusing several Republican politicians of taking money from “somebody named Jeffrey Epstein.” “Folks who also took money from somebody named Jeffrey Epstein, as I had my team dig in very quickly—Mitt Romney, the NRCC, Lee Zeldin, George Bush, McCain-Palin,” Crocket declared on the House floor on Tuesday. Even worse, newly released documents from Epstein’s estate include text messages between Plaskett and Epstein that show he advised her on what questions to ask President Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen during …
