Continuing a long-running Oscars tradition, last year’s acting winners will return to the 2026 Academy Awards as presenters. Best actress winner Mikey Madison (Anora), best actor winner Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), best supporting actor winner Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) and best supporting actress winner Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) are all set to present at the 2026 Oscars. Madison’s surprise win was among five trophies taken home by Sean Baker’s Anora, the most wins of any movie last year, including the top prize of best picture, during the 2025 ceremony. It’s unclear which awards Madison, Brody, Culkin and Saldaña will present, but in the past, the Oscars have often had the best actress and supporting actress winners present the best actor and supporting actor categories and vice versa. Executive producer and showrunner Raj Kapoor and executive producer Katy Mullan announced the news Thursday as the first batch of presenters set for this year’s ceremony. Nancy Meyer’s year-long journey to get her next movie project off the ground is at an end. After at least two years of on-and-off negotiations, the untitled project has finally secured not only Warner Bros. Pictures as its official home but also a luminous cast and a release date. Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Emma Mackey and Owen Wilson will star in the romantic comedy that Meyers, the filmmaker behind Something’s Gotta Give and The Holiday, wrote and will direct. Like many of her other movies, this one is also getting a winter holiday berth. Warner Bros. has set an opening date of Dec. 25, 2027. Meyers gained a following for her glossy, affluent aspirational, A-list-starring romantic comedies in the 2000s after becoming one of the town’s big-name screenwriters thanks to movies such as Private Benjamin and Father of the Bride. The entertainment world has come out in force to pay tribute to Catherine O’Hara, following the sad news of her death at the age of 71. O’Hara’s death was announced on Friday 30th January, with the star of Home Alone, Schitt’s Creek, The Studio and The Last of Us said to have died at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness. Macaulay Culkin has paid a heartbreaking tribute to Catherine O’Hara following the news of her passing on Friday, January 30, 2026. Macaulay and Catherine starred together in the 1990 film Home Alone and its 1992 sequel, and they formed a close relationship, with Macaulay calling Catherine “mom” in the real world. The actor took to Instagram following the news of her death after a brief illness, writing: “Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you.
