When you enter the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, the first thing you’re struck by is the scale of the project: tens of thousands of clay bricks slotted together to replicate the forms in traditional mosaics, spread across the floor with walkways between them. If you’re thinking that this cannot possibly be the work of one person, you’d be correct. Although Dana Awartani, a Jeddah- and New York–based artist of mixed Palestinian, Saudi, Jordanian, and Syrian descent, is the artist credited with the pavilion, she is the first to foreground the fact that she had numerous collaborators in the skilled craftsmen who labored alongside her in creating the project—all of whom are credited in a wall text. Walt Disney Co.’s incoming president and chief creative officer, Dana Walden, has unveiled her leadership team, which includes several familiar faces from the company’s film, television and marketing units. Walden will become Disney’s first female president on Wednesday. She will report to Josh D’Amaro, who will succeed Bob Iger as Disney’s chief executive, after the company’s annual meeting with shareholders and its high-profile leadership handoff. Walden’s senior team includes her longtime creative partner, Alan Bergman. As chairman of Disney Entertainment, Studios, Bergman will continue to oversee Disney’s film studios, including production, marketing and distribution. Bergman also will retain oversight of Disney’s streaming programming in concert with Walden. Disney executives Joe Earley and Adam Smith were named co-presidents of Disney Entertainment’s direct-to-consumer offerings, Disney+ and Hulu. Both executives will be responsible for strategy and financial performance and report to Walden and Bergman. The Night Manager star Hugh Laurie has taken to X to pay tribute to Tehran co-producer Dana Eden, who was found dead in Athens on Sunday. Dana Eden, an Israeli producer on the Apple TV hit espionage thriller series Tehran, was found dead at the age of 52 on Sunday in a hotel room in Athens, Greece, during the shoot of the show’s season 4, Reuters and Israeli networks reported. No cause of death has been confirmed, but Reuters quoted local police officials as saying that they are so far treating it as a potential suicide based on early evidence and testimonies. “This is a moment of great sorrow for the family, friends, and colleagues,” production company Donna and Shula Productions said in a statement. The executive producer of hit TV spy thriller Tehran has been found dead in an Athens hotel, police have said. Dana Eden was in Greece filming the fourth season of the show, Israeli state broadcaster Kan reported. Police said she was found dead on Sunday in a hotel room and an investigation had been launched. The 52-year-old Israeli was found after a relative made several failed attempts to reach her. The cause of death has not been confirmed but police said it was being treated as suicide based on evidence and testimonies.
