Best Gaming Laptops (2026): Razer, Asus, Dell, and More

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 10 (16 Inch, Intel) Now, there’s another class of high-end gaming laptop that focuses more on performance than being thin or portable. The Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 10 is one of my favorites in this class, featuring a beautiful white chassis and glossy OLED display. Unlike some OLED displays, the Legion 7i’s screen can be cranked up to over 1,000 nits of brightness. The result is some really splendid HDR performance that brings games to life. HDR is a powerful way of improving the visuals of your games without a performance cost. The Legion 7i Gen 10 is one of the very best in this regard. It’s still fairly thin at 0.7 inches thick too, while a lot of the ports are found on the back. It’s the definition of a “clean” gaming laptop. It’s no slouch when it comes to performance either, offering either the RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080 for graphics. Cheap Gaming Laptops That Are Worth It No gaming laptops worth buying are actually cheap. High-refresh rate …

Dell XPS 14 (2026) vs. M5 Pro MacBook Pro

Dell XPS 14 (2026) vs. M5 Pro MacBook Pro

The Dell XPS 14, powered by Intel’s Panther Lake chip, enters the premium laptop market as a direct competitor to Apple’s M5 Pro MacBook Pro. Both devices cater to professionals and tech enthusiasts seeking high performance and sleek design. While the XPS 14 showcases impressive features, it faces challenges in matching the MacBook Pro’s superior performance, efficiency, and battery life. If you’re considering these two laptops, understanding their distinct strengths and limitations is crucial to making an informed decision. The video below from Max Tech gives us more details. Design and Build Quality: A Battle of Elegance The Dell XPS 14 stands out with its modern, lightweight design. Constructed from machined aluminum, it exudes a premium feel while maintaining durability. The inclusion of a Gorilla Glass 3 trackpad ensures smooth navigation, and its keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience. Its compact size and less reflective display make it a practical choice for users on the go or those working in outdoor environments. On the other hand, Apple’s M5 Pro MacBook Pro continues to set a …

Dell XPS 14 (2026) review: A Windows laptop I wouldn’t mind returning to from Mac

Dell XPS 14 (2026) review: A Windows laptop I wouldn’t mind returning to from Mac

pros and cons Pros One of the most premium builds I’ve tested lately A gorgeous tandem OLED display Intel’s Series 3 chip gives it a big performance boost Cons It’s expensive Integrated Intel GPU makes it less reliable for gaming Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. The XPS has gone through a bit of an identity crisis of late. Last year, Dell announced it was restructuring its laptop catalog, doing away with the popular XPS, Inspiron, and Latitude brand names in favor of a more streamlined “Plus/Premium” naming convention. The rebrand was unpopular, to say the least, and at the end of 2025, Dell execs rolled back the decision, admitting they had missed the mark by nuking the XPS name (and, more importantly, confirmed that lagging sales aligned with the unpopular perception).  Also: Dell just made its boldest product decision yet at CES 2026, and XPS fans should rejoice And so, at CES 2026, the XPS hath returned — an epic resurrection story for one of the most popular laptop brands ever. With …

Dell XPS 14 Review (2026): This Laptop Marks an Incredible Comeback

Dell XPS 14 Review (2026): This Laptop Marks an Incredible Comeback

The build quality is exceptional, as is to be expected, with a hint of flex in the lid and keyboard. You can even open the device with just one finger now, something the XPS laptops of the past have always struggled with. Get the OLED Photograph: Luke Larsen There’s a bit of an issue with how Dell configures the displays on the XPS 14. The base configuration comes with just a very standard 1920 x 1200 LCD display, despite it costing $1,699. This is a pretty serious downgrade from the mini-LED display offered on the 14-inch MacBook Pro, which is sharper, more colorful, and significantly brighter. The MBP is even $100 cheaper and comes with an extra 8 GB of RAM. The more expensive OLED model comes standard with the Core Ultra X7 configuration with the option to upgrade to the X9. This isn’t just standard OLED though—it’s tandem OLED, which the company first used on the XPS 13. The result isn’t more brightness (as it’s actually slightly dimmer than the LCD model), but instead …

9 Best Windows Laptops (2026): WIRED-Tested Laptops to Buy

9 Best Windows Laptops (2026): WIRED-Tested Laptops to Buy

You’ll want to read our extensive guide on How to Choose the Right Laptop, but for the basics, you’ll want to decide what category of laptop you need. Most people should buy a 13-inch or 14-inch laptop, and spending around $750-$1,000 is a good place to start. You should expect a laptop around this price to get good battery life, have a decent screen, perform well enough for basic tasks, and have a comfortable keyboard and touchpad. You should also expect at least 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Anything more than that gets into premium territory where you’re paying for higher specs, more performance, or extra features. If you want something with a discrete GPU for either gaming or creative workflows, you’ll need to spend more than this. A laptop like the Dell 14 Plus is the ideal example of what you can get while shopping in this price range. You can even find laptops with OLED panels, up to one terabyte of storage, depending on how good the discounts happen …

Dell just made its boldest product decision yet at CES 2026, and XPS fans should rejoice

Kyle Kucharski/ZDNET Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. ZDNET’s key takeaways Dell is bringing back the XPS brand name. The company has launched new Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 devices.  The laptops feature form-factor tuning and the latest Intel processors. When Dell announced it was retiring its popular laptop lines for a consolidated “Pro/Plus/Premium” naming convention last year, consumers were more than a little confused. The XPS was a well-respected product line with a distinct identity — wouldn’t giving that up dilute the brand (especially for something that sounds like it came out of Cupertino)? Well, Dell may have found the answer. Just a year later, the company is bringing back the XPS brand name with the new Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16, plus a 13-inch model that will be released later this year.  Also: AI PCs aren’t selling, and Microsoft’s PC partners are scrambling During a press conference in New York, Jeff Clarke, COO of Dell Technologies, acknowledged the company had made a mistake by discarding the XPS name and …

Dell Admits That Customers Are Disgusted by PCs Stuffed With AI Features

Dell Admits That Customers Are Disgusted by PCs Stuffed With AI Features

The tech industry’s insistence on cramming AI into virtually every aspect of their consumer-facing offerings, from AI apps you can’t uninstall to hallucinating assistants that nobody asked for, has been nothing short of insufferable. Tech enthusiasts and average consumers alike have watched helplessly as software and hardware they rely on to research, work, game, and keep in touch have turned into testing grounds for unproven AI tech — often without their consent. Tech giant Microsoft has been at the epicenter of the resulting blowback, bearing the full brunt of the rage felt by many fed up with having AI shoved down their throat. It’s inundated its Windows 11 operating system with annoying AI features following the company’s doubling down on what it calls the “AI PC” last year, frustrating countless users, and most recently spawning the pejorative of “Microslop.” Thankfully, vendors are finally starting to pay attention. As PCGamer reports, Windows PC maker Dell admitted at this year’s CES that things have really gotten out of hand. Their executives are willing to say the quiet …

CES 2026: Dell unveils new ultra-thin, entry-level Alienware gaming laptops

CES 2026: Dell unveils new ultra-thin, entry-level Alienware gaming laptops

Dell’s modern Alienware gaming laptops are powerful and cool-looking machines, but they have a reputation of being hefty and expensive. That may soon change. At CES 2026 Monday, the American tech company unveiled a first, brief look its forthcoming ultra-slim and entry-level gaming laptops set for release later this year. While details about the two devices are still very minimal — Dell hasn’t even revealed their names yet — neither one’s category is currently represented in the Alienware lineup. Existing models include the 16-inch Aurora 16 and 16X, two sleek mid-range options, and the 16- and 18-inch Area-51s, Dell’s glitzy flagship machines. They start at $1,100 to $2,670, respectively; weigh 5.5 to 7.5 pounds; and measure at least 0.89 inches thick. Dell’s PC gaming lead, the new ultra-slim Alienware laptop will have a more understated look compared to other Alienware models, and it’ll be available in 14- and 16-inch sizes, according to a blog post by Matt McGowan. It will come in around 0.67 inches thick, making it as thin as last year’s 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro. …
