Prosecutors disagreed and pointed to an instance where Combs showed Ventura he had videos of her engaging in sex parties hours before another “freak-off” in an apparent bid to ensure her continued participation. “These incidents are specifically tied to transportation,” prosecutor Christy Slavik told the court.  In a sign of the complex legal arguments, Slavik at one point drew an analogy of pizza to highlight how certain “slices” of evidence were relevant to the ultimate sentencing decision. The court did not issue an immediate ruling in what one judge, William Nardini, called an “exceptionally difficult case.” Combs is also appealing his conviction though that was not discussed in detail on Thursday. He is being held in the low-security Fort Dix prison in New Jersey and is due for release in spring 2028.  Source link

In a Manhattan courtroom last week, I was made to explain myself to a federal judge, prosecutors, and defense lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs, Luigi Mangione, and Martin Shkreli. It was the first day of jury selection in the trial of the Alexander brothers, the high-flying real estate duo and a third sibling working in private security, on sex trafficking charges. One of the defendants had hired Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, the sort of attorneys most likely to appear in the celebrity-adjacent press such as this magazine, and in some twist of fate, I had been called as a potential juror. Two of imprisoned rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sons are set to follow in their father’s footsteps with a docuseries of their own, one that promises to platform their perspective on their hip-hop royalty father’s fall from grace in 2024 and his subsequent federal trial the following summer. On Sunday night, Zeus Network released a trailer for the forthcoming series, which is slated for release sometime in 2026, according to the network’s Instagram page. The documentary series appears to follow Justin and Christian Combs throughout their father’s federal racketeering and sex-trafficking trial, which concluded in early July with a split verdict that spared him a potential life sentence. Combs is now serving a 50-month federal prison term after a jury found him guilty of violating the Mann Act. He is also the subject of an often deeply unflattering four-part Netflix series that appears to be a hit for the streamer; it was produced in part by his longtime rival, rapper 50 Cent.
