Dwayne Johnson Made His Met Gala Debut in a Thom Browne Skirt

Dwayne Johnson Made His Met Gala Debut in a Thom Browne Skirt

Thirty years into his genre-defying career, there aren’t a whole lot of “firsts” left for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He’s main-evented WrestleMania six times; racked up nearly $14 billion dollars at the global box office; launched brands to hawk everything from skin care to tequila to signature sneakers; had his name bandied about in both Oscar races and presidential races. One thing he’s somehow never done before tonight, though? Climb the Met Gala steps. Thing is, while The Rock has never been short on smackdown-laying style (hitting the ring in silky Versace blouses in the ’90s and setting the template for jacked guys looking to dress well in the 2010s), he’s never quite been a capital-F Fashion guy. That changed last year when, while promoting his dramatic turn in A24’s The Smashing Machine, a surprisingly svelter Johnson began sporting custom looks from the likes of Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. “He’s got a big career pivot happening,” Ilaria Urbinati, Johnson’s longtime stylist, told GQ in September. “I want to make sure the clothes reflect this …

Dwayne Johnson Wore a .3 Million Watch to the Met Gala

Dwayne Johnson Wore a $3.3 Million Watch to the Met Gala

Tonight marks Dwayne Johnson’s first Met Gala, but you’d never know it by looking at him. The actor arrived on the red carpet looking like a regular, in a bold Thom Browne ensemble and a watch as glittery and large as the Times Square New Year’s Eve ball. That timepiece just so happens to be one of the most expensive ever worn on the museum’s steps: a $3.3 million Jacob & Co. Billionaire III. Johnson’s look was built to challenge the idea of what men with his demigod build can wear, according to his stylist Ilaria Urbinati. The Rock’s timepieces typically play into that idea—just last week, he strapped on a pink-dial Chopard Alpine Eagle, a svelte sport watch with a playful dial. But the Jacob & Co. goes in the opposite direction: With the Billionaire III, Johnson and Urbinati are leaning directly into the Smashing Machine star’s mammoth stature. “It’s literally massive, Urbinati says of the watch, “and I feel like Dwayne is the only person who could pull off that size.” The watch …

‘Fast Forever,’ the Final ‘Fast & Furious’ Film, Is Coming. Here’s Everything We Know

‘Fast Forever,’ the Final ‘Fast & Furious’ Film, Is Coming. Here’s Everything We Know

We finally know when we will see the Fast & Furious family again. It’s been almost three years since the release of Fast X. The plan at the time was for Fast & Furious 11—the second installment of the two-part franchise finale—to drive into theaters in April 2025. But then Universal’s crown jewel hit a speed bump. Fast X grossed just $714 million worldwide—which sounds like a lot, until you realize that the film cost an estimated $350 million and that Fast 8 grossed over $1.2 billion (Fast 9 took in only $726 million in 2021, but that installment gets a pandemic pass). In the wake of those disappointing returns, both questions and silence have plagued the future of Fast. Some even wondered if Universal might just abandon ship, despite Fast X ending on too many cliffhangers to count. But the studio revved the engine back up this past Friday with the announcement of a title and release date for the long-running series’ swan song: It’s called Fast Forever, and it’s coming on March 17, …

Dwayne Johnson’s IWC Perpetual Calendar Is a Miniature Mechanical Computer

Dwayne Johnson’s IWC Perpetual Calendar Is a Miniature Mechanical Computer

Not everybody can pull off a 44mm watch—even more so when it’s a 44mm dress watch—and even more so when it’s crafted from a solid hunk of 18K 5N gold (IWC’s honey-hued blend of gold, copper, and silver.) But Dwayne Johnson ain’t everybody, and the IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar (ref. IW503302) looks positively tiny on his beefy 6’5” frame. Appearing at the Creative Impact Awards and 10 Directors To Watch Brunch hosted by Variety during the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival a few days ago, Johnson paired a sand-hued Dolce & Gabbana ensemble with one of the International Watch Company’s premier complications. Though not part of IWC’s dedicated pilot’s watch collection, the Portugieser’s dressier 1940s-inspired silhouette still shares some aesthetic DNA with timepieces used by early flyboys as they piloted their piston-powered aircraft over Europe: The slab-sided round case, stepped bezel, and knurled crown all make reference to the fact that the original, oversized Portugieser watches actually used pocket watch movements, while the dial’s railroad minute track, thin leaf handset, and applied Arabic numerals …
