We’ve been given some new plot details about the upcoming Ocean’s Eleven prequel – with star Margot Robbie teasing that the film will focus on the parents of George Clooney’s character Danny Ocean. The news was confirmed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, with the Barbie and Wuthering Heights star appearing during a sizzle reel that teased Warner Bros’ 2027 slate. “Before Danny Ocean ever stepped foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows – his parents,” she revealed. “You’ll see them in their prime, and in our new movie, pulling off an epic heist at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.” That certainly sounds like a fittingly glamorous setting for the movie, which will star Bradley Cooper alongside Robbie after the former replaced the previously announced Ryan Gosling in the cast. The attack followed clashes between radical groups on the sidelines of a conference by hard-left La France Insoumise (LFI) MEP Rima Hassan on Thursday, February 12, at Sciences Po Lyon. Nine people – seven men and two women – were initially arrested in the Lyon region. Robbers stole items worth up to $105m from safe-deposit boxes held at a German retail bank in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia state, during the Christmas holiday, German police said on Tuesday. The German news agency dpa reported that it may rank among the biggest thefts in the country’s history. What happened and what was stolen? The thieves broke into a branch of Sparkasse bank in the city of Gelsenkirchen, in North Rhine-Westphalia state, from an adjacent parking garage, according to the police, at some point when businesses were closed for the Christmas holiday. The German state is home to museums and Gothic architecture. Its capital, Dusseldorf, is known for its shopping boulevard and the Rheinturm telecommunications tower. Using a large drill, the thieves bore through a thick concrete wall of the bank and gained access to an underground vault room. Then, they forced open some 3,000 safe deposit boxes, before making off with cash, gold and jewellery.
