George, JFK Jr.’s Real Magazine From Love Story, Ended in Failure. Its Photo Shoots Were Legendary.

George, JFK Jr.’s Real Magazine From Love Story, Ended in Failure. Its Photo Shoots Were Legendary.

The mid-’90s was a glossy magazine gold rush, just before the internet yanked the rug out from under legacy media. But despite all his fame and familial connections, Kennedy initially struggled to get funding for his magazine because back then, the idea of a political lifestyle magazine sounded crazy to publishers. That sounds even crazier from the vantage point of 2026, living in a country where the president is a former TV star, many of his Cabinet members were plucked from Fox News, and they all regularly rage about talk show hosts and NFL halftime performers. The culture we now live in was just revving up when George began. Rupert Murdoch was unleashing the Fox News channel; The Real World invented reality TV; Microsoft released Windows 95; and Amazon.com was born. Americans treated O.J. Simpson’s trial and Hillary Clinton’s Whitewater testimony like soap operas. In this gaudy new tabloid landscape, George made a place for itself. Its mantra was simple: serious topics, but make them fun. The debut issue, featuring supermodel Cindy Crawford on the …

Eugenio Viola Says Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá Ended His Contract Over Labor Issues

Earlier this month, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá announced on Instagram that it had terminated its contract with longtime artistic director Eugenio Viola. Now, Viola is claiming that the board of directors did so after he raised concerns with working conditions at the museum. In a statement to the Art Newspaper, Viola, who began serving as artistic director in 2019, said, “The board of directors ended my contract early, not due to any artistic or leadership deficiencies. My departure followed my decision to raise concerns with the board in September 2025 regarding the progressive deterioration of working conditions—concerns shared by several team members. Instead of conducting an internal review, the board dismissed these issues and terminated my contract.” Related Articles The museum, in its official statement on February 6, said that the decision to move on from Viola came “as a result of a comprehensive and ongoing review of the different aspects that make up our museum.” MAMBO also said it had already begun the process of selecting a new artistic director. The …

How Heated Rivalry just ended years of gay TV trauma

How Heated Rivalry just ended years of gay TV trauma

If you grew up in the ’90s or ’00s and loved a gay character on TV, chances are they ended up dead. The list is pretty endless, from Tara in Buffy and Lexa in The 100, to Poussey in Orange Is the New Black and Maya in Pretty Little Liars, plus every single named gay character ever introduced in The Vampire Diaries (seriously). And, if you’ve experienced the heartbreak of any of these deaths, you’ll be aware of Bury your gays – the trope that has plagued TV for years, involving killing off of LGBTQ+ characters in media, particularly immediately after finding happiness. While it’s a trope that most often refers to lesbian characters, gay men and bisexual characters certainly haven’t escaped it either. A 2013 Guardian report examined Oscar-nominated performances of heterosexual characters compared to LGBTQ+ characters. It stated: “Of the heterosexual characters, 16.5% (59) die. Of the LGBT characters, 56.5% (13) die. Of the 10 LGBT characters who live, only four get happy endings. That’s four characters in 19 years.” In recent years …

Kelly Reilly says it’s a shame Yellowstone ended the way it did

Reilly, 48, starred as Beth Dutton, the daughter of Costner’s character, John Dutton, in the contemporary western about a family fighting to preserve their sprawling Montana cattle ranch. The Paramount show was cancelled after its fifth season, amid rumours that Costner – who dramatically quit in 2023 – had clashed with Sheridan. The final season was controversial, with fan complaints over multiple character deaths that drew negative comparisons to HBO’s blockbuster fantasy series Game of Thrones. British actor Reilly, who received critical praise for her performance as Beth, told The Sunday Times that it was “a shame it ended that way, but it did”. “[If] we were just having a beer, I could …

Emmerdale reveals where Bear ended up after huge Ray shock

Emmerdale reveals where Bear ended up after huge Ray shock

Emmerdale has revealed where Bear Wolf ended up after the shocking discovery that he was behind the murder of Ray Walters. At the start of the month, Bear killed Ray and it was later shared that Bear’s son Paddy Dingle had been helping him to cover it up. The soap has since been airing special flashback scenes aiming to shed a spotlight on what went on with Ray and between Paddy and his father. Earlier this week, the soap confirmed that Paddy has known about Bear’s harrowing modern slavery experience since the beginning of January, after Dylan Penders tipped him off in secret. When Ray turned violent and threatened Paddy and Dylan, Bear stepped in and brutally killed the villain. Paddy and Dylan have been keeping the secret from those around them. While viewers already know that Ray’s body has been found in present scenes, tonight’s flashback episode focused on how Ray’s murder was covered up after Bear killed him. In the immediate aftermath of the killing, Bear begged Paddy to perform CPR on Ray. …

Federal EV incentives ended, California’s ZEV sales grew anyway

Federal EV incentives ended, California’s ZEV sales grew anyway

The California Energy Commission (CEC) reported this week that the state passed 2.5 million cumulative new zero‑emission vehicle (ZEV) sales in 2025. In CEC‑speak, that “ZEV” tally includes battery‑electric vehicles, fuel‑cell electric vehicles, and plug‑in hybrids (even though plug‑in hybrids aren’t exactly “zero‑emission”). Still, the headline number underscores how quickly California’s plug‑in market has grown. Since the end of 2019, cumulative ZEV sales in the state have jumped more than 300%, driven by a mix of state clean‑transportation policies, incentives, and consumer demand. “No state in the union can match California’s five‑year growth in ZEV sales,” California Energy commissioner Nancy Skinner said. “Each quarter, even in the face of increasing federal headwinds, tens of thousands of consumers are purchasing a ZEV in the Golden State, enjoying a great driving experience, and knowing they never have to go to a gas station again.” Advertisement – scroll for more content California Air Resources Board chair Lauren Sanchez struck a similar tone, pointing to a global EV market that continued to grow even as US policy support weakened. “Governor …

“I hate how it ended”: Allen cries following Bills’ overtime loss

“I hate how it ended”: Allen cries following Bills’ overtime loss

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was overcome with emotion while speaking to reporters after a heartbreaking loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday. Allen has been a perennial MVP candidate throughout his career, but he’s never made it to the Super Bowl. He has the most playoff starts in without a trip to the championship game (15) of any quarterback in NFL history. Following an off season for the typically dominant Kansas City Chiefs, Allen’s path to the big game looked clearer than ever. Allen threw three touchdowns against the Broncos, but couldn’t hold on to the ball. Two costly fumbles and two interceptions led to a nail-biter of a playoff game. Allen’s final interception, in overtime, led to the Bronco’s game-winning field goal. At the podium after the game, a visibly shaken Allen cried while answering questions. “It’s been a long season, I hate how it ended. And it’s going stick with me for a long time,” he said. #Bills QB Josh Allen shows up to his postgame press conference with tears in his …

The 34 trucks – each carrying two containers – formed a visible row in satellite imagery. Their cargo? Roughly 1,000 metric tons of “yellowcake” (uranium concentrate) produced at the Arlit mine in northern Niger by the French nuclear group Orano, before the company was forced out by the junta led by General Abdourahamane Tiani, who came to power in a July 2023 coup. In early November, several French government sources told Le Monde that they were concerned that Russia could acquire this uranium stockpile and, above all, about the risks of transporting it by road through regions controlled by jihadist groups. According to these sources, Nigerien authorities and the Russian nuclear giant Rosatom had just reached a deal for 1,000 metric tons of yellowcake – out of the 1,400 stored in Arlit – for a price of $170 million (€145 million). Both parties denied the transaction. You …
