They’re like, ‘Okay, Biggie!’ And I’m like, ‘Excuse me?’ They’re like, ‘Whatever, Biggie!’” “I’m like, ‘Mila, stop saying this.’ Hal’s gonna go to school, and his teacher’s gonna be like, ‘Now, Hal, please turn in your homework.’ And he’s gonna be like, ‘No way, Biggie!’” she continued, before adding that her kids also gave the nickname to her husband, Henry Hager. © TODAYJenna shared that her kids had given her a brutal nickname “You know what it stems from?” she asked her co-star, Sheinelle Jones. “The root word is ‘Big Back’…[Mila] has simplified it just to …

Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100th birthday is a great excuse to explore the Sussex forest that inspired the books | Sussex holidays

Deep in a medieval hunting forest, amid 6,500 acres of heathland, a wooden bridge spans a tributary of the River Medway. Every single day, no matter the weather, people flock to stand on its slats and cheer on sticks as they float downstream. The Guardian’s journalism is independent. I know this because on a frosty but sunny morning, (“a very long time ago now, about last Friday”, as children’s author AA Milne might have said), I stood with two such adults jumping up and down with delight as my little piece of oak stormed ahead and won the race. The game is Pooh Sticks, originally described by Milne in Winnie-the-Pooh, which was published in 1926. It was inspired by the game he and his son, Christopher (Robin), would play on Posingford Bridge in Ashdown Forest (AKA the Hundred Acre Wood) in East Sussex. Just 30 miles south of London, this sprawling open heathland lies within the High Weald Area of Outstanding …

‘Lame excuse’: British papers not convinced by PM Starmer’s Mandelson defence – Press Review

PRESS REVIEW – Tuesday, April 21: British broadsheets and tabloids mock Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s address to the House of Commons, in which he defended himself over the Peter Mandelson vetting scandal. In France, former PM Gabriel Attal talks about “the love of his life”, but a conflict of interests could be on the table. Finally, hostile divorces lead to fights over unexpected objects. British papers are reacting to PM Keir Starmer’s latest address to the House of Commons, a week after he learned that his pick for US ambassador, Peter Mandelson, had failed security vetting. The Daily Mirror headlines with “They chose not to tell me”, referring to Starmer blaming other officials for keeping him in the dark. Morning Star writes that the “lame excuse fails to convince”. The Daily Mail‘s headline reads “It’s everyone’s fault but his”, adding that “Starmer finally admits he was wrong to appoint Mandelson – but still won’t resign”. In his address, Starmer said: “I know my story sounds incredible”. Metro answers him in its headline: “Incredible? Yes, prime minister”. The Daily …

Elon Musk says backlash to AI chatbot deepfake images is ‘excuse for censorship’ | Science, Climate & Tech News

The UK government “wants any excuse for censorship”, Elon Musk has said, amid a growing backlash over deepfake sexual images produced by his social media site X’s artificial intelligence tool. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said X needed “to get a grip of” its AI chatbot Grok, and he had asked media regulator Ofcom for “all options to be on the table”. Indonesia temporarily blocked the chatbot on Saturday, becoming the first country to deny access to the AI tool. Image: Elon Musk has responded to the criticism of Grok on X. Pic: Reuters/ Evelyn Hockstein It comes after criticism from governments and regulators in Europe and Asia, with some opening inquiries into sexualised content. Earlier this week, the Internet Watch Foundation reported that criminals have been using Grok to create child sexual abuse imagery. On Friday, X appeared to have changed Grok’s settings, with a message displayed by the chatbot saying image editing had been limited to paid subscribers – changes described as “insulting” by Downing Street. Appearing defiant, Musk later shared …

Man’s horror over mother-in-law’s excuse for donating his furniture | UK | News

A man has been left gobsmacked after hearing his mother-in-law’s “lame” excuse for donating all of his furniture. He explained how he and his wife, Paula, enjoyed a romantic holiday away but returned home to find their living room completely empty and their personal items missing. At first, he thought they had been burgled – but after his initial panic, he noticed a huge smile on his mother-in-law’s face as she welcomed them home. Taking to Reddit, he said: “My wife (Paula) and I just got back from a trip. It was our first time away since our twin daughter was born. We gave my mother-in-law, Hakiko, a spare key just to check on things if necessary. “Paula is sentimental. When her grandmother passed away, she left her two hand-carved mahogany pieces – a desk and a vanity. They were Paula’s absolute favourite possessions. When we walked in yesterday, the room was empty.” He says his mother-in-law was standing in the middle of the empty room with a huge smile across her face, and said …
