The Black Ops star, 40, has revealed that she had to leave the show early after “throwing up” on set while sitting with Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty. Ikumelo proved herself to be a worthy competitor on the Prime Video series – which challenges 10 comedians to last six hours in a room without smiling or giggling, while trying to make one another laugh. The comic lasted four episodes before becoming the first to chuckle her way out of the competition. However, while eliminated stars are invited to sit with hosts Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty in the control room, Carr told viewers that Ikumelo wasn’t “feeling well” and so had to leave the control room. …

UN experts slam attacks on Gaza shelters, forced displacement in West Bank | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Panel details incidents of violence by Israeli forces and settlers against displaced Palestinians in Gaza and occupied West Bank. Published On 13 Apr 202613 Apr 2026 United Nations experts have reiterated calls for an end to Israeli attacks on displaced Palestinians in Gaza as well as forced displacement measures in the occupied West Bank. In a statement issued on Monday by the UN Human Rights Council (OHCHR), the experts detailed several incidents in March in which Israeli air strikes set tents of displaced Palestinians in Gaza on fire, killing many. “This cycle of displacement, terror, and targeted attacks serves an ultimate purpose: to make life unbearable for Palestinians and permanently force them from their land,” the panel said. Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territory, was one of the experts [Gregorio Borgia/AP] “The vast majority of Gaza’s population has already been displaced multiple times which amounts to forcible transfer,” the panel said, adding that “targeting areas known to shelter displaced civilians is a grave breach of international humanitarian law.” The experts noted …

Oil Tanker Going To China Forced To Reverse Course Before Crossing Hormuz Under US Blockade

Oil Tanker Going To China Forced To Reverse Course Before Crossing Hormuz Under US Blockade

One day after a burst of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, when according to Bloomberg 19 ships crossed in either direction while Trump said that as many as 34 ships crossed the waterway on Sunday, shipping through Hormuz slumped back down again Monday, reversing Sunday’s jump, as caution mounted ahead of a US naval blockade. After 19 ships went through the Strait in either direction on Sunday – the most since the early stages of the war – the momentum reversed by Monday morning. Only four were observed passing on Monday: a single liquefied petroleum gas carrier was sighted entering the Gulf, and three small fuel tankers were raced to exit just hours before the blockade took effect at 10 a.m. New York time.  Earlier in the day, the WSJ reported that the US has deployed more than 15 ships – including an aircraft carrier, multiple guided-missile destroyers, an amphibious assault ship and several other warships in the Middle East – in place to support the blockade. These ships have the ability to launch helicopters that support …

Tensions Rise Over Proposed New Zealand Statue Commemorating ‘Comfort Women’ Japan Forced into Sexual Slavery

Tensions Rise Over Proposed New Zealand Statue Commemorating ‘Comfort Women’ Japan Forced into Sexual Slavery

A proposed bronze statue depicting a seated girl, intended as a symbol of wartime sexual violence, has sparked tensions between Japan and New Zealand, the Guardian reports. The sculpture, donated to the Korean cultural garden at Barry’s Point Reserve in Auckland by the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance, commemorates an estimated 200,000 women forced into sexual slavery in Japanese military brothels between 1932 and 1945, known as “comfort women.” Most were Korean, though victims also included Chinese, Southeast Asian, and a small number of Japanese and European women.cJapan’s ambassador to New Zealand, Makoto Osawa, said the planned memorial was “needlessly stirring up” this chapter of history and warned it could harm diplomatic relations, not only between Japan and New Zealand, but also between Japan and South Korea. The Japanese embassy has more bluntly described the statue as part of an “anti-Japan” movement. Since the first “peace statue” was erected in Seoul in 2011, followed by similar installations around the world, Japan …

Starmer forced into new local elections climbdown

Starmer forced into new local elections climbdown

Sir Keir Starmer has made another U-turn over when local elections can be held in a further victory for The Telegraph’s Campaign for Democracy. Labour is to change the law to prevent the Government from postponing local elections for more than a year for councils undergoing local government reorganisation. The amendment has been laid to its English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill, limiting any delays to a maximum of 53 weeks. The Telegraph’s Campaign for Democracy forced the Prime Minister to abandon his controversial plans to delay 30 contests across the country, denying 4.6 million people the right to vote on May 7. Opposition parties claimed Labour was cancelling the contests, some for the second year in a row, to avoid embarrassing defeats at the ballot box. Exclusive polling for The Telegraph revealed Labour majorities on 10 of the councils would be wiped out if the elections went ahead. Reform UK launched a judicial review into the delays and, in February, Steve Reed, the Local Government Secretary, reversed the decision. Ministers had argued councils could …

how a new opponent has forced Viktor Orbán into the first genuinely competitive race in 16 years

how a new opponent has forced Viktor Orbán into the first genuinely competitive race in 16 years

For the first time since Viktor Orbán came to power in 2010, the Hungarian electorate is faced with a genuinely competitive campaign ahead of the 2026 general election on April 12. For the past 16 years, Prime Minister Orbán’s party Fidesz has dominated. Faced with smear campaigns and attacks portraying opponents as a threat to national interests and sovereignty, any opposition has been fragmented and ineffectual, held together by uneasy alliances. This time round, however, Fidesz’s hold is threatened by a single challenger, the Respect and Freedom Party (Tisza), which is currently leading by around 20 percentage points in the polls. Founded in 2020 and led by Péter Magyar since 2024, this centre-right party positions itself as a cross-ideological alternative. Its main focus is tackling government corruption and improving living standards and public services. Its international stance is pro-European and unifying. The 2026 contest comes at a time of economic strain and growing public dissatisfaction. Hungary is one of the EU’s poorest member states. It also ranks among the most corrupt in international indices. Voters …

Last One Laughing UK star says Jimmy Carr forced to shut down moment that was cut from show

The hit Prime series returned for a second outing last month, with 10 comedians – including last year’s champion, Bob Mortimer – entering the studio and attempting to make it through the day without laughing. Gledhill was one of the newer faces among them, and in an appearance on co-star Alan Carr’s Life’s A Beach podcast, she admitted that a scene which she considered to be one of her funniest moments didn’t make the final edit. The 38-year-old explained: “The thing that I did that I thought might have been funny hasn’t made it into the show because it was too mucky. Me and Sam [Campbell] did an improv in the bed.” …

Moon Astronauts Forced to Do It in Bags as “Burning Odor” Emanates From Toilet

Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech NASA’s historic Artemis 2 mission launched without a hitch last week, sending the first astronauts toward the Moon since 1972 — but their journey hasn’t been without hiccups. Their space toilet, in particular — the space agency’s newfangled Universal Waste Management System (UWMS) — has turned out to be a considerable pain point. Mere hours into their ten-day trip around the Moon, the toilet jammed, with NASA officials delivering the crew an unfortunate piece of news: it was only accepting solid waste. While the issue was ultimately corrected when NASA astronaut Christina Koch realized the pump hadn’t been primed with enough liquid, the interplanetary commode broke down once again over the weekend. This time, “it’s an issue with dumping the waste out of the toilet,” as flight director Judd Frieling told reporters on Saturday, as quoted by CNN. “And so it appears to me that we probably have some frozen urine in the vent line.” And in the …
