George Clooney was honored with Film at Lincoln Center’s prestigious Chaplin Award in recognition of his Oscar-winning career as an actor, writer, director and producer. But in recent years, Clooney has become as well known for his political views as he has been for his work behind and in front of the camera. So it’s not surprising that in accepting the Chaplin Award in New York Monday, just days after the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, Clooney felt the need to address recent political events. “I can’t be here on a night like tonight and just ignore everything that’s going on in the world,” he said at the end of his remarks after he’d been honored by former colleagues such as Julianna Margulies, Sam Rockwell and John Turturro. “I disagree with everything that this administration stands for, but there’s no place for this kind of violence we saw two nights ago in Washington, D.C. Lauren Sanchez Bezos recently revealed that she would have another baby “tomorrow” if she had her way. The 56-year-old made the admission while discussing her blended family with her billionaire husband, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. “I would have another one tomorrow. George Clooney is clapping back at Donald Trump‘s White House after they criticized his acting abilities when he accused the president of committing war crimes over his Iran threats. In a new statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner slammed the Trump administration, saying there’s no time for “infantile name-calling” when more serious matters are happening in the world and the U.S. “Families are losing their loved ones. Children have been incinerated. The world’s economy is on a knife’s edge,” Clooney wrote. “This is a time for vigorous debate at the highest levels. Not for infantile name-calling. I’ll start. A war crime is alleged ‘when there is intent to physically destroy a nation,’ as defined by the Genocide Convention and the Rome Statute. George and Amal Clooney’s $18 million English mansion has been submerged in water by the recent floods that have hit Berkshire and south Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom. Rivers in the area have become saturated after weeks of heavy rainfall, with flood alerts issued across the country. Boasting nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as sprawling reception rooms, an open-plan kitchen, a conservatory, and 5.5 acres of land, George and Amal’s house in Sonning is the epitome of luxury. However, its riverside location has resulted in the tennis court and garden covered with water after the banks burst. Sonning-on-Thames is a riverside village, which is a 45 minute train ride from the capital. The property, Aberdash House, is located on a 5.5 acre private island on the River Thames. George and Amal acquired the UK home just before they wed in 2014, and moved in two years later after renovations.
