Ariana Grande Announces New Alum ‘Petal’ and Its Release Date

Ariana Grande is doing it all. After concluding her time as Glinda in the Wicked films with Wicked: For Good’s Thanksgiving release — and unveiling a couple more upcoming acting roles — she is also returning to music. On Tuesday, Grande took to Instagram to announce that her eighth studio album, Petal, is set to be released on July 31. The photo shows the Grammy winner without her signature ponytail, hinting at a new era coming. Petal, from Republic Records, is co-written by Grande and Swedish-Persian producer Ilya Salmanzadeh. On April 18, she shared a video on Instagram describing the album as “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.” Grande’s previous album, Eternal Sunshine, celebrated its three-year anniversary last month. The album was nominated for three Grammy Awards. On June 6, the singer will kick off her Eternal Sunshine tour in Oakland, Calf. The tour marks her first in seven years, following her last tour, which ended in December 2019, focused on her Sweetener …

Get the latest entertainment news, reviews and star-studded interviews with our Independent Culture email Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter The new Focker-In-Law trailer has tickled a few eagle-eyed viewers, who have noticed an apparent editing error. In the movie teaser, dropped Wednesday, Ariana Grande joins the Meet the Parents franchise as Olivia, the soon-to-be fiancée of Henry (Skyler Gisondo), the now-grown son of Greg and Pam Focker, played by returning stars Ben Stiller and Teri Polo. When Olivia visits Henry’s maternal grandparents — his hard-to-please grandfather Jack (Robert De Niro) and gracious grandmother Dina Byrnes (Blythe Danner) — she quickly wins over Jack, sparking Greg’s jealousy, as it took him years to be accepted into the family. At one point in the trailer, the family goes for a bike ride. Olivia challenges Greg to a race, and as the two are speeding down the trail, Greg clips Olivia’s back tire, sending her tumbling to the ground. As she falls on …

Focker-In-Law Trailer: Ariana Grande Takes Centre Stage In Meet The Parents Sequel Teaser

Focker-In-Law Trailer: Ariana Grande Takes Centre Stage In Meet The Parents Sequel Teaser

Robert De Niro and Ariana Grande in Focker-In-Law Ariana Grande, Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro aren’t a trio you’d naturally expect to see in one place, however all three have come together for the new film in the Meet The Parents series, Focker-In-Law. In the newly-released trailer for the upcoming family comedy, Ariana takes centre stage as the new girlfriend of Ben’s character’s son Henry (played by Skyler Gisondo) – who the family patriarch has a spot of trouble warming up to. The teaser also sees Ariana’s character taking on the infamous lie detector test from the first movie – and attempting to navigate her future in-law’s clingy parenting, as he struggles to let go of his now-adult son. Of course, being the Fockers franchise, there’s a healthy amount of the silly comedy (an early doors “wee-wee” joke) and gross-out humour (Jack “baby birding” a piece of food Greg ejected after choking on it) that we’ve come to expect from the first three films. Focker-In-Law will welcome back most of the franchise’s major players, including …

‘Focker-In-Law’ trailer teases Ariana Grande feuding with Ben Stiller

‘Focker-In-Law’ trailer teases Ariana Grande feuding with Ben Stiller

It’s been 26 years since Greg Focker first tried (and mostly failed) to impress his new father-in-law (Robert De Niro) in Meet the Parents, and now there’s a new family member in the hot seat. In the trailer above for Focker-In-Law, Greg welcomes his son’s new girlfriend (Ariana Grande) into the family home — only to suspect that she may be up to no good. The problem? She appears to have the entire family fooled, including the gatekeeper of the circle of trust himself. Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Skyler Gisondo, Beanie Feldstein, and Eduardo Franco also star. Focker-In-Law is in theaters Thanksgiving 2026. Source link

Amanda Seyfried on feelings about losing Wicked role to Ariana Grande

Amanda Seyfried on feelings about losing Wicked role to Ariana Grande

Amanda Seyfried has opened up about how she feels about losing out on the role of Glinda in Wicked after numerous auditions. The actress previously revealed that she tried out six times for the role in the film adaptation of the hit broadway show, which would have seen her appear alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, before it ultimately went to pop icon Ariana Grande. In a new interview with Radio Times ahead of the UK release of Seyfried’s new film The Testament of Ann Lee, the actress was asked whether she’s over losing out on the role now, to which she responded: “Yeah. I’ve been making the [promo] rounds with all of them, and it’s like everything happens for a reason.” She continued: “I wasn’t sad I didn’t get it, but I guess I wish it had been communicated to me in a better way. I don’t like to be in the dark about things. I like to feel appreciated.” Seyfried might have missed out on the role of Glinda, but the Mamma Mia! and …

Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and Grey’s Anatomy take part in national shutdown — what to know

Individuals and businesses across the US have gone on a national strike on Friday, January 30 as part of a series of protests after the fatal shootings of two Americans in Minnesota by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)in recent weeks. “We believe it is time for a mass mobilization of working-class people across this country — not only to demand better wages and safer workplaces, but to build a new system rooted in justice, care, and collective power,” General Strike wrote on its website ahead of Friday’s action. “A general strike is how we say: you cannot run this country without us.” Infographic with pictures of Alex Pretti and Renae Good and the text: “Pretti Good reason for a national strike” The General Strike is “a decentralized network of regular people who know our greatest power is our labor and our right to refuse it”. They have collectively organized the national shutdown, which aims to impact the American economy, thereby forcing the government to acknowledge the population’s demands. At least nine Americans have been killed by …

Oscar nominations snubs and surprises: Paul Mescal and Ariana Grande among biggest oversights

Oscar nominations snubs and surprises: Paul Mescal and Ariana Grande among biggest oversights

SNUB: CHASE INFINITI, ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER Hudson’s inclusion meant that Chase Infiniti did not get her first Oscar nomination for One Battle After Another. Her performance as the teen Willa, wrapped up in a life-or-death situation of her parents’ making, was the heart of Paul Thomas Anderson’s masterpiece, and an arrestingly great screen debut. SNUB: AMANDA SEYFRIED, THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE  Amanda Seyfried was not as widely expected to get a leading actress nomination as Infiniti was, but she deserved one for her visceral, ecstatic turn as Shakers founder Ann Lee. With only one nomination to her name, for playing Marion Davies in Mank, Seyfried is becoming one of our most underappreciated talents, at least as far as awards are concerned. SURPRISE: AMY MADIGAN, WEAPONS  Oscar voters hate to be boxed in, and apparently this year they heard the cries about biases against horror movies. Zach Cregger’s Weapons was certainly one of the most talked about films of the year, but that doesn’t always translate at awards time. But Amy Madigan, who seemed …

Grande, who was nominated this year for her supporting turn as Glinda, was asked about the omissions in a new interview with Variety. “There aren’t enough flowers on this earth for Jon M. Chu,” she said. “He’s an extraordinary human being and director, This film will be watched for decades to come. He set out to move people, to challenge them, to …

Law Roach Breaks Down His Strategy for Ariana Grande In Awards Season 2026—And Beyond

Law Roach Breaks Down His Strategy for Ariana Grande In Awards Season 2026—And Beyond

Yeah, I did. I think one of the most iconic looks is the Giambattista Valli at the Grammys [2020], which was kind of the last time [we worked together]. And so for us to come back and it’s just like, wow, bam, we’re back doing this. How do you choose what happens when or which dress goes where? For me, the best dress always wins. No matter what it is, no matter who made it, it’s always the best dress that will, for me, always win. I love the goosebumps. And when that happens, that is my drug. It’s like when that dress goes on and you get those goosebumps, you know that that’s the one and that’s the dress and that’s what we’re wearing to this place at this time. More generally about your career, how now do you approach styling different people for different things? You have Zendaya, you have Ariana. What’s the Law playbook that differentiates them? Them. I think one of the greatest compliments I’ve always gotten throughout my career is …
