On the X post in question, Kim Petras has been up to more than reaching out to Mamdani, who last year declared his affinity for the pop star’s music. (I’m with Mayor Mamdani, by the way—Petras does make some great hype music to get ready to.) She’s also been pre-promoting Detour, which had been trapped in limbo due to a dispute with her label, Republic Records. In addition to teasing the album’s first single “Need for Speed,” which will drop this Wednesday, she affirmed that Detour now has a release date—she wouldn’t tell me what it is, but said that, pun intended, we’re now back on track. “It’s my pride and joy,” Petras says of the album. “I really shed, I think, a lot of my previous styles. The first two seasons of Euphoria delighted fashion fanatics with iconic vintage pieces and other Easter eggs. Newman-Thomas says fans can expect even more. There’s a Levi’s jacket Rue wears that was custom made for her. (The brand provided several replicas, which were needed because of the amount of action she goes through.) Pooh Shiesty, legally Lontrell Williams Jr., appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Renee Harris Toliver in Dallas. Prosecutors have also charged eight others in connection with the alleged January incident at a music studio, where the victims were reportedly robbed at gunpoint. The victims have not been named by prosecutors, and an FBI affidavit attached to the criminal complaint refers to them only by their initials. One victim, R.D., is identified as the owner of 1017 Records, Gucci Mane’s label. “I find that the weight of the evidence against you is strong,” Toliver told Pooh Shiesty during the hearing. Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped and held at gunpoint by Pooh Shiesty, who forced the rap mogul to sign a document releasing him from his recording contract, according to federal prosecutors. Pooh was of nine people charged on Thursday for executing a “coordinated armed takeover” of a Texas music studio, prosecutors said. They face sentences of up to life in prison. According to the complaint, Pooh arranged a meeting in January with Gucci to discuss the terms of his recording contract. Once he was inside the studio, others in his group stormed the room, with one of the defendants barricading the door to prevent people from escaping. Pooh proceeded to brandish a pistol and demanded that Gucci release him from his contract. Federal prosecutors said that victims were robbed of cash and jewelry, among other valuable items. One victim was choked until he was almost unconscious, the complaint alleged. This season he was all about lace, sometimes as-is or covered in silicone—a blouse, a pencil skirt, a mini dress. Plus, a black suit and a fur jacket (sometimes over the former, at times flying solo with a pair of stilettos). It was striking and convincing. Aspirational, even, when placed against the backdrop of the shimmering Eiffel Tower at night. Vaccarello knows sexy, his Saint Laurent woman is the kind that lives and breathes it, and employs it to her advantage. There was an air of fetish emanating from this collection, a sense of danger. One can appreciate Vaccarello’s focus at a time in fashion in which most designers put everything but the kitchen sink on the runway, simply to see what sticks.
