Gaming adaptations are ten a penny in Hollywood at the moment – and so it was only a matter of time before one of the biggest video game franchises of all time, Call of Duty, hit the big screen. And Paramount has now confirmed that the film adaptation of the games will be released in cinemas in just over two years time, with an official release date of Friday 30 June 2028 unveiled during the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The film is being directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon) and will be scripted by Taylor Sheridan, best known for his vast empire of US TV shows including Yellowstone, Tulsa King and Landman. Magyar’s landslide victory has given Tisza a supermajority in parliament, with which it can pass sweeping reforms aimed at restoring judicial independence, academic freedom and media pluralism, reversing years of democratic backsliding. The prime minister-elect’s ultimate goal is to unlock more than €30 billion in EU funds that Brussels froze due to rule-of-law concerns. He is under particular pressure to release around €10 billion in Covid-19 recovery funds that expire at the end of August this year. The Budapest meeting follows a phone call between Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Magyar on Tuesday, where the two discussed “immediate priorities,” the commission chief said on X. “There is swift work to be done to restore, realign and reform,” she wrote. “Restore the rule of law. Whoever’s filming can barely hold the camera steady because it’s just too dang cute. Whether it’s online or in person, we’ve all seen dogs tilt their heads—and yet scientists don’t know why they do it.  “Dogs are singularly situated to be sentinels [mirrors] of the human experience,” Courtney Sexton, a postdoc at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine who studies human-dog relationships, tells Popular Science. The head tilt, she argues, is a window into one of the most striking of those adaptations. Unlike cats, hamsters, or even our closest primate relatives, dogs have developed the ability to parse human speech in ways that mirror our own.
