Divorce is a hot topic in midlife – so I’m delighted to be jumping online with the Second Act community this week (Wednesday 25th March, 1pm) for a lunchtime Q&A on all things divorce and separation.  As the co-founder of the award-winning separation service amicable, I hear divorce dilemmas every day – from how to tell the children to how to split the finances. I’ve navigated two divorces myself and I’m a qualified relationship counsellor, along with an outspoken advocate for the campaign to introduce no-fault divorce in the UK in 2020, regularly appearing in the media on all things divorce and separation and hosting my own podcast, The Divorce Podcast, which was recently a finalist in the British Podcast Awards. In 1995, a California parakeet earned the Guinness World Record for having the largest human vocabulary among birds. “Puck the Budgie” had learned an astounding 1,728 words before passing away at the young age of five in late 1994.  Puck even formed original phrases, such as “that’s what it’s all about” and “I love everyone,” showcasing a high cognitive ability that makes these tiny avians some of the smartest birds that you can keep as pets. But while birds like Puck could chat away in words we can understand, others tweet, quack, cheep, and trill to communicate.  Why do some birds talk like humans, and others converse in languages all their own?
