New-ish couple Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have officially made their Met Gala 2026 debut, walking the red carpet arm in arm, six months after revealing their relationship to the world. On Saturday, Hugh Jackman was spotted in New York City, riding a Citibike over to the Minneta Lane Theater, where he’s currently starring in a play called Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes. Along his commute, the Wonder from Down Under stopped for a few selfies and autographs and handshakes. No big production around it—just him, out and about. Hugh Jackman is heading back to Indiana. The veteran performer is set to deliver a commencement speech at Ball State University’s spring graduation ceremony, scheduled to take place in the Quad on May 2. The university-wide gathering will host approximately 2,800 doctoral, specialist, master’s and baccalaureate degrees students. Beyond the speech, the university will return the favor by presenting Jackman with an honorary arts degree. The showing will bring Jackman back to the Ball State campus after first visiting last September when he joined his partner Sutton Foster for a visit. Foster serves as an instructor in the university’s theatre department, and Jackman joined her during one of her teaching visits. The pair co-starred on Broadway in The Music Man before going public with their relationship last year. Jackman returned to Ball State, located in Muncie, Indiana, in November to host a screening of his film Song Sung Blue ahead of its Christmas release. Hugh Jackman has starred in dozens of blockbusters hits, from the X-Men franchise to The Greatest Showman, but the actor also has plenty of other forgotten films. One of these is 2006’s The Fountain, in which the Australian actor starred as three characters in the film, which spanned from the 16th century to the space age. Three separate narratives threads are told in the film, which features Hugh’s characters attempting to find the secret to eternal life. The synopsis for the film reads: “A man travels through time on a quest for immortality and to save the woman he loves. As a 16th-century conquistador, Tomas searches for the legendary Fountain of Youth. As a present-day scientist, he desperately struggles to cure the cancer that is killing his wife. Wednesday marks a big day for media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who turns 95 on 11 March – and like any billionaire businessman, his birthday celebrations were marked with a star-studded surprise from a Hollywood A-lister (and fellow Australian) on Saturday. Song Sung Blue and Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman was in attendance and marked the occasion with a special musical performance, singing renditions of The Greatest Showman, Fly Me to the Moon, New York, New York and I Still Call Australia Home, according to People.  The party also featured a video message from US president Donald Trump, while his daughter Ivanka reportedly cheered Hugh on from the crowd. Before the MCU ended an era of cinema as we know it, another extended family of Marvel superheroes dominated the multiplex: Fox’s X-Men franchise. Launched in 2000 with one of the pre-MCU era’s few actually good superhero movies, X-Men spawned 11 sequels, spin-offs, prequels and other such universe-extenders over the subsequent two decades. (Plus Deadpool & Wolverine, which we’ve listed below, even if it technically exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe—it’s basically an X-Men film, and primarily functions as a love letter to 21st Century Fox’s legacy of comic-book movies.)
