Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Make Their Met Gala Debut

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Make Their Met Gala Debut

The Met Gala just got a big burst of Broadway. New-ish couple Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have officially made their Met Gala 2026 debut, walking the red carpet arm in arm, six months after revealing their relationship to the world. ANGELA WEISS/Getty Images A Met Gala regular, Jackman is sporting a classic Black Giorgio Armani tuxedo. Tonight marks Foster’s first time at the Met Gala: the two-time Tony winner wore a shimmering, metallic, one-shoulder golden gown with a high slit, showing off the gams that have made her one of Broadway’s most beloved triple threats. This is not Jackman and Foster’s first event as a couple, but their relationship was not public until fairly recently. Old friends Jackman and Foster reconnected while starring opposite each other in the 2023 Broadway revival of The Music Man. While walking the red carpet for the show’s premiere, Foster exclusively told Vanity Fair that the beloved Broadway musical was about “community.” “But I feel like we’ve created our own little community and our own little family and we …

Hugh Bonneville takes on Sherlock Holmes: best podcasts of the week | Podcasts

Pick of the week Hound of the Baskervilles Narrator Hugh Bonneville stresses at the beginning of this new audio drama that readers were utterly incensed when Arthur Conan Doyle decided to kill off Sherlock Holmes in 1893. The writer later resurrected him – but not before this fan favourite prequel about an apparently supernatural, beastly creature that stalks Devon’s moors. This eerie adaptation is faithful to its source material, with each episode ending on a cliffhanger. Hannah J DaviesWidely available, episodes weekly Everybody Knows But Me LA-based comic Holly Brown hosts this show – equal parts dark and jaunty – about the family secret her father revealed when he was dying, namely the existence of Brown’s younger twin brothers. Drawing on sitcom conventions (her dad worked on Frasier) and with fictional elements, it’s an original, sometimes uncomfortable listen, with real imagination. The Sheep Detectives review – This ‘talking sheep solve Hugh Jackman’s murder’ movie is oddly charming

Get the latest entertainment news, reviews and star-studded interviews with our Independent Culture email Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter I’m not quite sure how to conceptualise the pipeline between the harrowing 2019 mini-series Chernobyl and The Sheep Detectives, but here we are: writer Craig Mazin – who not only created Chernobyl but its bleak spiritual companion, the post-apocalyptic The Last of Us – has adapted for screen Leonie Swann’s German bestseller Three Bags Full, in which a flock of sheep solve their shepherd’s murder. Mazin, it should be pointed out, first got his start in the Scary Movie and Hangover franchises, and is here paired with Minions director Kyle Balda. Yet the Mazin who coaxed sombre performances out of Pedro Pascal and Jared Harris ends up at the wheel far more than you’d expect for a film, well, about detectives who are sheep. There’s an entire meditation on the nature of morality and memory being bleated out by CGI creatures …

Hugh Jackman’s Denim Shirt Works Whether You’re 27 or 57

Hugh Jackman’s $40 Denim Shirt Works Whether You’re 27 or 57

On Saturday, Hugh Jackman was spotted in New York City, riding a Citibike over to the Minneta Lane Theater, where he’s currently starring in a play called Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes. Along his commute, the Wonder from Down Under stopped for a few selfies and autographs and handshakes. No big production around it—just him, out and about. His look matched that energy: A denim shirt, sleeves rolled up, nice and chill. The shirt itself was a standard-issue Western number from Wrangler. Not brand new, not seriously rare, not trying to be anything other than what it is. Wrangler’s been making this stuff for decade: OG American workwear, built for function first and then picked up by fashion guys after. It’s the kind of brand that doesn’t need a reset every season because, well, it never really left. BG048/Bauer-Griffin That’s also why it works on pretty much anyone. There’s nothing age-specific about a solid denim shirt. It’s not chasing a single moment or tied to a trend cycle, so it doesn’t suddenly feel off …

Twenty Twenty Six review: Hugh Bonneville’s bumbling Ian Fletcher is back in BBC’s comedy treat

Twenty Twenty Six review: Hugh Bonneville’s bumbling Ian Fletcher is back in BBC’s comedy treat

Hugh Bonneville’s bumbling and bemused Ian Fletcher is back. But this time, he’s blundering his way through corporate crises across the pond to oversee the planning of the FIFA World Cup.  Ian has quite the CV. In Twenty Twelve, a mockumentary about a fictional committee tasked with planning the 2012 Olympic Games, he was Head of Deliverance of the Olympic Deliverance Commission. Its sequel, W1A, saw him become the BBC’s Head of Values. Now, nearly a decade later, Ian has embarked on a new chapter in Miami as Director of Integrity for the 2026 football tournament, which David Tennant’s narrator tells us is “a key post”. © BBC/Expectation/ANA BLUMENKRONHugh Bonneville reprises his role as Ian Fletcher Fans of the first two series can expect more of the same as Ian is faced with another ragtag bunch of quirky characters with nonsense job titles. But this time, his employees are far more direct, and unlike in W1A, not every idea is “brilliant”.   © BBC/Expectation Entertainment/Jack BarnesIan is faced with a new group of hapless colleagues …

Hugh Jackman to Deliver Commencement Address at Ball State University

Hugh Jackman to Deliver Commencement Address at Ball State University

Hugh Jackman is heading back to Indiana. The veteran performer is set to deliver a commencement speech at Ball State University’s spring graduation ceremony, scheduled to take place in the Quad on May 2. The university-wide gathering will host approximately 2,800 doctoral, specialist, master’s and baccalaureate degrees students. Beyond the speech, the university will return the favor by presenting Jackman with an honorary arts degree. The showing will bring Jackman back to the Ball State campus after first visiting last September when he joined his partner Sutton Foster for a visit. Foster serves as an instructor in the university’s theatre department, and Jackman joined her during one of her teaching visits. The pair co-starred on Broadway in The Music Man before going public with their relationship last year. Jackman returned to Ball State, located in Muncie, Indiana, in November to host a screening of his film Song Sung Blue ahead of its Christmas release. The film, written and directed by Craig Brewer, who adapted from a 2008 documentary by Greg Kohs, casts Jackman and (Oscar …

Hugh Skinner on bringing back Will the Intern in W1A spin-off Twenty Twenty Six

Hugh Skinner on bringing back Will the Intern in W1A spin-off Twenty Twenty Six

Get the latest entertainment news, reviews and star-studded interviews with our Independent Culture email Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Hi Will!” I smile, before realising what I’ve done. Will, of course, is Will the Intern, the hapless work-experience guy from BBC parody W1A. The person in front of me is Hugh Skinner, the actor who played him with bumbling aplomb. In my defence, we are at a café right outside Broadcasting House, where the comedy was set. “It happens,” he reassures me later of my faux pas. “I’ve played a lot of Wills and Harrys.” He really has: there was Will the Intern, then Prince William in royal spoof The Windsors, before Harry the sweet boyfriend in Fleabag and Harry the younger version of Colin Firth in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. A long line of posh doofuses, essentially. “I went to a private school, so I know that world,” he says with a chuckle. “And I love playing …

Hugh Jackman’s forgotten 00s epic The Fountain hailed as ‘simply breathtaking’ after finding new home

Hugh Jackman’s forgotten 00s epic The Fountain hailed as ‘simply breathtaking’ after finding new home

Hugh Jackman has starred in dozens of blockbusters hits, from the X-Men franchise to The Greatest Showman, but the actor also has plenty of other forgotten films. One of these is 2006’s The Fountain, in which the Australian actor starred as three characters in the film, which spanned from the 16th century to the space age. Three separate narratives threads are told in the film, which features Hugh’s characters attempting to find the secret to eternal life. The synopsis for the film reads: “A man travels through time on a quest for immortality and to save the woman he loves. As a 16th-century conquistador, Tomas searches for the legendary Fountain of Youth. As a present-day scientist, he desperately struggles to cure the cancer that is killing his wife. Finally, as a 26th-century astronaut in deep space, Tom begins to grasp the mysteries of life, love and death.” Despite the film only being known to some of Hugh’s biggest fans, it has recently arrived on Amazon Prime, making it the perfect weekend watch. The actor has …
