General Motors has indefinitely suspended plans to refresh its full-size electric truck and SUV lineup, putting the future of the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, Hummer EV, and Cadillac Escalade IQ in limbo beyond the current generation. The move marks yet another retreat from GM’s once-ambitious electric vehicle strategy, as the automaker doubles down on gas-powered trucks instead. Kanye West has postponed a concert in France – a week after he was denied a visa to perform at Wireless Festival in the UK. On X, the rapper wrote: “After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.” West was due to perform at the Marseille Velodrome on 11 June, but the gig had faced a growing backlash because of his history of antisemitic comments. A fire at a vape shop has forced the closure of Scotland’s busiest railway station “until further notice”, Network Rail says. Dozens of trains were cancelled on Sunday after a four-storey building in Union Street, close to Glasgow Central Station, caught fire. The building has partially collapsed, and the station will not reopen on Monday morning as firefighters continue to tackle the blaze – more than five hours after it began. Just over six months after it was announced, the Louvre has indefinitely postponed the competition launched in June 2025 to design an expansion of France’s most well-known art museum. The news was reported in Le Figaro Friday. The project, called Louvre—Nouvelle Renaissance, was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron in January of last year and aims to ease overcrowding at the museum, which welcomes some 9 million visitors a year. It was expected to be completed by 2031. The initial plan was to create a new entrance, update aging infrastructure, and—perhaps most controversially—build a new 33,000-square-foot exhibition space for the Mona Lisa. The plan was estimated to cost $778 million. A paranoid schizophrenic who stabbed a grandmother to death at a north London bus stop has been detained indefinitely. Jala Debella, 24, attacked medical secretary Anita Mukhey, 66, in front of horrified members of the public at about on May 9 2024. He stabbed her 18 times at 11.50am before “casually” walking away while bystanders rushed to help the victim. Debella was sentenced to a hospital order and a restriction order at a hearing at the Old Bailey on Friday. He can be detained indefinitely. The court heard that the 24-year-old was obsessed with gory online videos that mirrored the violence he would later carry out in real life. He had searched on his computer for “killing video” and visited a website containing graphic violent content. Despite living in a residential home supporting people with mental health problems, Debella was able to buy a hunting knife over the internet. It was delivered to the home in Colindale, in the north London borough of Barnet, around an hour before he used it to kill Ms Mukhey. …
