Liz Truss has been slammed online after she claimed that “the extreme left are mounting an armed insurrection” in America. The former prime minister, who only lasted 49 days in Downing Street after sparking an economic crisis, made the evidence-free claim on a Daily Telegraph podcast. Her comments followed the killing of protesters Renee Good and Alex Pretti by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in the US. After Hageman got a witness to admit that no one was charged with incitement, Raskin made the clearly false statement that a few defendants charged with seditious conspiracy was the same thing as incitement. It is not. Rep. Raskin triggered the confrontation by making a clearly false claim about one of those charged by the Biden Administration: “I would just commend to everybody the testimony of Pamela Hemphill, who was a convicted insurrectionist that was pardoned.
