People Who Rarely Feel Lost In Life Usually Follow These 11 Internal Rules

People Who Rarely Feel Lost In Life Usually Follow These 11 Internal Rules

Feeling lost doesn’t always come from a lack of options. It often comes from not having a clear way to filter those options or decide what matters most. When everything feels equally important, or equally uncertain, it becomes harder to move forward with any real sense of direction. Some people seem to navigate that uncertainty more steadily. They don’t have everything figured out, but they operate with a set of internal guidelines that keep them oriented. These rules aren’t always something they’ve written down or even consciously defined, but they show up in how they make decisions, respond to change, and keep moving forward. People who rarely feel lost in life usually follow these 11 internal rules 1. They make decisions based on direction, not certainty PeopleImages / Shutterstock Clarity doesn’t always come before action. Instead of waiting for a perfect answer, they choose a path that feels aligned and adjust as they go. This keeps momentum from stalling when things aren’t fully clear. A decision becomes a starting point rather than a final answer. …

8 Hidden Signs Your ‘Laziness’ Is Actually Internal Resistance — And How To Break Free

8 Hidden Signs Your ‘Laziness’ Is Actually Internal Resistance — And How To Break Free

When I was writing my Ph.D., I didn’t have bad weeks. I had bad months. The kind when each day you wake up thinking, “Today I will actually do the thing,” and then you don’t. Somehow the day ticks by, and then it’s 11 pm, and you still haven’t done the thing, and it feels like you might as well go to bed and start over tomorrow, but already you have a sinking, horrible sense that you won’t do it then either. And lo, the cycle repeats. Research helped explain that it doesn’t have to be a Ph.D., of course. This why-can’t-I-just-do-it spiral can happen any time you’re trying to do something you care about that is big and in some way new. And once the cycle really gets going, you can find yourself prey to self-loathing so corrosive and debilitating that I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Here are 8 hidden signs your laziness is actually internal resistance —and how to break free 1. Internal resistance is often masked by self-loathing Which …

Israeli Military Chief Warns Army Nearing Internal Collapse As Netanyahu Pushes Service Extensions

Israeli Military Chief Warns Army Nearing Internal Collapse As Netanyahu Pushes Service Extensions

In a surprising announcement splashed all over Israeli media front pages, especially given the ongoing censorship regimen related to the Iran war, Israel’s military chief has sounded the alarm over a severe manpower crisis in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has warned the “IDF is going to collapse in on itself” during a security cabinet meeting this week, according to Times of Israel and others. This as Israeli forces are now fighting on multiple fronts: there’s the major war against Iran, as well as the ‘northern front’ against Hezbollah in Lebanon and amid IAF airstrikes on Beirut, and Israeli forces are still operating in Gaza.  via AFP “I am raising 10 red flags in front of you,” Gen. Zamir warned the country’s civilian leadership, citing intensifying operational demands across all the fronts. “Right now, the IDF needs a conscription law, a reserve duty law, and a law to extend mandatory service,” he laid out, per local media sources. “Before long, the IDF will not be ready for …

Not everyone has an internal monologue

Not everyone has an internal monologue

Get the Popular Science daily newsletter💡 Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent six days a week. When I first started researching this story, I assumed I was writing about other people: those fascinating outliers who reportedly lack an internal monologue—the experience of actively speaking words in your mind as a sort of private narration of your life.  Then I got on a Zoom call with Dr. Russell Hurlburt, a psychologist at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, who has spent 50 years studying inner experience, and somewhere in the first ten minutes, I started to wonder: What if I’m talking about myself? Do I really think in fully-formed sentences all day, or are sentences merely the tools I reach for when I need to explain myself to others? And how well do any of us actually know the difference? “Basically everybody—or almost everybody—thinks they have inner speech all the time,” Hurlburt says. “And so we have to start with the fact that people are ignorant about their own inner experience.” ‘A faulty armchair introspection’ When …

Israel targets Iran’s internal security establishment to facilitate postwar uprising

The rubble of a police station, in Tehran, Iran, on March 4, 2026. AFP A brief dogfight played out in the skies over Tehran on the morning of Wednesday, March 4. An Israeli F-35 fighter jet, flying as part of a bombing run on the Iranian capital, climbed above the clouds, veering away from an enemy Yak-130 fighter, which had drawn close enough for the pilot to see. The Iranian aircraft was then quickly shot down. Where had it taken off from? Israel bombed the runways at the military airports in Tabriz, Shiraz and Kish Island on the first day of the war, Saturday, February 28, rendering them unusable and also destroying both aircraft and radar installations. By Sunday, March 1, at 9:15 am, the Israeli military considered their air route to the capital city clear. On Wednesday, it claimed to have full control of the airspace over Tehran. While the American air forces concentrate their firepower on Iran’s western provinces and its missile launchers, Israel has struck a wide range of sites across the …

Writers Guild Awards L.A. Ceremony Canceled Amid Internal Labor Strike

Writers Guild Awards L.A. Ceremony Canceled Amid Internal Labor Strike

The Writers Guild of America West has canceled its annual awards show set to take place on March 8 amid its own staff striking, alleging that management committed unfair labor practices amid first contract negotiations. In a letter sent to presenters and participants of the 2026 awards ceremony, and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, WGAW president Michele Mulroney wrote in part, “I am writing to share the news that the 2026 Writers Guild Awards Los Angeles ceremony will be cancelled. An alternative celebration for this year’s Los Angeles-based nominees will be scheduled at a later date.” “Currently, the non-supervisory staff of the WGAW, represented by the Pacific Northwest Staff Union (PNWSU), is on strike,” Mulroney added. “While I respect the staff’s right to strike, I also believe that you deserve an uncomplicated celebration of your achievements. We would not ask you, your guests, talent, and crew to cross a picket line to attend.” A similar message was also sent to WGAW members. The Writers Guild Staff Union (WGSU), which has been picketing in front of the union’s …

Exclusive-ICE Struggles to Vet Recruits Amid US Immigration Enforcement Push, Internal Email Shows

By Ted Hesson and Kristina Cooke WASHINGTON, Feb 26 (Reuters) – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is struggling to keep pace with vetting new hires during its historic recruitment push and is laying out a process to deal with allegations of past misconduct among recruits, the agency said in an internal email on Monday, underscoring concerns about ICE’s rapid expansion. The email, sent to supervisors with ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division and seen by Reuters, said the “high volume of new hires” and stalled background checks could create uncertainty for field ‌offices when allegations arise related to actions before joining ‌ICE, and that allegations should be referred to the internal Integrity Investigations Unit. “If a Field Office receives derogatory information about a newly hired employee’s conduct prior to ERO employment (e.g., termination or resignation in lieu of terminationfrom another law enforcement agency for misconduct), please refer the matter to IIU,” it said. 12,000 ICE OFFICERS HIRED: DHS President Donald Trump’s Republican administration hired thousands of ICE officers last year to support Trump’s mass deportation …

Louvre Director Laurence des Cars Resigns Amid Heist, Internal Turmoil

On Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron said he had officially accepted the resignation of Laurence des Cars, who had led the Louvre since 2021. “Ms. Laurence des Cars has submitted to the President of the Republic her letter of resignation from the presidency of the Louvre Museum,” a short statement from Macron’s office said. “The head of state accepted it, welcoming an act of responsibility at a time when the world’s largest museum needs calm and a strong new impetus to carry out major security and modernization projects and the ‘Louvre – New Renaissance’ project.” Related Articles Macron’s office said he had “thanked her for her work” and praised des Cars for “her undeniable scientific expertise.” In a statement, des Cars said, “Through both hardship and success, directing the Louvre has been the honor of my professional life. 2030 Alps Games already facing storm of internal controversies and public backlash

2030 Alps Games already facing storm of internal controversies and public backlash

When the first notes of Verdi’s La Forza del Destino opera rang out on February 2, part of a pre-Opening Ceremony event held beneath the gilding and elaborate woodwork of La Scala theater in Milan, Cyril Linette and Edgar Grospiron put on a stoic show of solidarity. Linette, the director general of the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games organizing committee, known as COJOP, responsible for developing the 2030 Games to be held in the French Alps, and Grospiron, its president, insisted behind the scenes that the trust between them had not been broken. But this, in fact, was where the real theater began. Just as in the opera by the Italian master, tragic fate soon took hold. Barely a week after the event, and as the grand celebration of winter sports was in full swing in Milan-Cortina, the COJOP publicly acknowledged “insurmountable disagreements” between the two key French organizers and initiated Linette’s departure. “I have the mandate to see this process through to the end. And that will happen in the coming days,” Grospiron, …

Don’t Discount Iran’s Internal Opposition

Don’t Discount Iran’s Internal Opposition

Killing thousands of protesters last month was apparently not enough for the Islamic Republic, which followed up by arresting prominent internal critics, too. The Iranian regime wouldn’t have gone after these figures if it didn’t fear them—perhaps even as much as it fears the royalist movement that has surged around former Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. Its sensitivity about both groups is a reminder that uniting them remains the Iranian opposition’s best move, if only activists would take it. On January 31, the domestic oppositionists Abdollah Momeni, Mehdi Mahmoudian, and Vida Rabbani were swept up and sent to prisons in northern Iran, far from their Tehran residences. They were released on bail on February 17. Mahmoudian’s case attracted international attention because he is the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Jafar Panahi’s 2025 film, It Was Just an Accident. All three figures were once associated with the regime’s internal movement for incremental reform; all three long ago abandoned that stance to advocate the wholesale transformation of the system instead. Last month, the three arrested activists had joined two like-minded …
