PinkPantheress brought out a gaggle of special guests for her weekend two set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The internet’s favorite heartthrob actor Tyriq Withers frequently appeared during the set, much like he did during weekend one, which took place at the Mojave tent. But this weekend, the “Stateside” singer decided to up the ante, brining out several big name guests throughout the night. In an unsurprisingly move, fellow pop star Zara Larsson came out during PinkPantheress’ set — fans had begun speculating earlier in the weekend when Larsson was spotted at Coachella. However, it was a surprise that Larsson didn’t join PinkPantheress for the set’s opening song, the remix of “Stateside,” which Larsson is featured on. Instead, the 28-year-old Swedish singer-songwriter came out alone and performed the titular song off her last album, Midnight Sun. Larsson thanked the crowd and seemingly teased that PinkPantheress will feature on the newly announced deluxe version of Midnight Sun, dubbed Girls Trip. It’s a blistering 89 degrees in Indio, California, and the eight members of girl group BINI are packed inside a small trailer. With their team surrounding them, some carrying the flag of the Philippines, the young women are abuzz with nervous excitement. Electropop singer Slayyyter can be heard faintly through the not-so-soundproof walls of the trailer. Outside, a group of longtime fans and curious music lovers at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival await the moment the group takes the Mojave stage. Daniel Kinahan arrested in Dubai over alleged links to ‘international organised crime’ | UK News

Irish national Daniel Kinahan has been arrested in Dubai over alleged links to an “international organised crime network”. He was detained after a court in Ireland issued an arrest warrant Dubai authorities said they received a judicial file and “immediately launched intensive search and surveillance operations, leading to the suspect’s capture” within 48 hours. They said the “Irish fugitive” was detained on 15 April over his “alleged role in an international organised crime network”. Dublin’s high court previously named Kinahan as a senior figure in a crime gang involved in international drug trafficking operations and firearm offences. In 2022, US authorities issued a reward of up to $5m for his arrest. Kinahan was previously linked to the boxing world and co-founded a well-known management and promotions company – which later shut down. In 2016, a bloody feud with the rival Hutch gang led to an attempt on his life when men disguised as armed police opened fire at a boxing weigh-in at a Dublin hotel. White Rabbit Red Rabbit will return to the West End with guest performers including David Tennant, Riz Ahmed, Luke Thompson, and Jodie Whittaker. The show is set to mark the launch of a new indie production company, There & Then, from Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour and director Omar Elerian. White Rabbit Red Rabbit will run at the Duchess Theatre from June to November this year. Performances are set for every Monday night with a new guest star: David Harewood on the opener (June 8), Doctor Who star Tennant the next week, with Bridgerton‘s Thompson on July 6, Whittaker on July 13 and Riz Ahmed, currently starring in Prime Video’s Bait, on Sept. 28. U.S. actress Christine Baranski will make her West End debut alongside Richard E. Grant in a new production of Noël Coward’s Hay Fever. The family comedy, directed by Emily Burns, also marks Saltburn star Grant’s return to the West End stage after 20 years. LONDON, April 17 (Reuters) – British police said on ⁠Friday ⁠they had charged three ⁠people over an attempted arson attack on offices linked to ​television station Iran International in northwest London earlier this week. The three, two men and ‌a teenager and all ‌British, are accused of arson with intent to endanger life after an ⁠ignited ⁠container was thrown towards the premises of the parent company of ​Iran International, Volant Media, on Wednesday evening, landing in a car park. The fire immediately put itself out, causing no damage nor injuries. Iran International, a London-based television station ​critical of Tehran’s government, said a suspicious vehicle was denied entry ⁠to its ⁠London site shortly before ⁠the ​incendiary devices were thrown. Oisin McGuinness, 21, Nathan Dunn, 19, and a 16-year-old boy ​who cannot be named ⁠for legal reasons, are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court later on Friday. The heat is on! Just watch the work of Swiss documentary filmmaker Jacqueline Zünd (Where We Belong, Almost There, Goodnight Nobody). She premiered her fiction feature debut, Don’t Let the Sun, at the Locarno Film Festival last year, bringing us a near-future-set cinematic contemplation of how external factors, namely climate change, affect and shape our inner worlds. Now, Zünd is getting ready to world premiere a film that dives into the same themes in a different, namely documentary, and very provocative form. The new film, aptly called Heat, will debut at the 57th edition of the Visions du Réel (VdR) doc festival in Nyon, Switzerland, on April 20. It will screen in the international feature film competition of the fest, which opens on Friday, April 17, and runs through April 26. The Roots of Madness. The title of the new documentary from Swiss filmmaker Edgar Hagen (Who Are We?, Journey to the Safest Place on Earth) is provocative. Its goal is ambitious. After all, amid the heated political debate about migration and rise of xenophobia across Europe and other parts of the world over the past decade-plus, the film looks to answer the question: Why do so many people become refugees? For his cinematic exploration, Hagen tries to understand “the long-term consequences of Western intervention in the Middle East,” as a synopsis highlights.
